I invite you to a roast… pork flavoured. Pass the peas, please.

You may roast my makeup technique, not my appearance. 24 year old me was a very fragile and manic girly 😂

I was going through old posts and 2021 was something else. I don’t know her 😂🫪🫣 I’m thinking of trying these looks again but 2026-style.

This was before my eyebrows were tattooed, before I started wearing lashes, and before I had my lips filled. I had no eyebrows, not one hair. They were drawn from scratch. 😂 Everything was FaceTuned to high heaven. My lips were a lot thinner back then.

I wasn’t listing what I was using back then, so I don’t have anything definite. However, all of my colourful eyeshadow was from BPerfect carnival XL pro and the loose glitters/shimmers from Blushing Rose Cosmetics (discontinued).

Thankfully I’ve been doing makeup since 2016 and I know what the hell I’m doing now. Please post your bad makeup phases so I don’t feel alone 😂

I’ll also post non-edited recent photos for comparison + product list!

Quiet but decent restaurant in northern suburbs?

Somewhere between Salisbury and Gawler. It would be nice to try somewhere new. A dining pub with a salad bar etc. Just your run of the mill pub, nothing too fancy. But also not derelict if that makes sense. Is there anywhere else my fiancée and I can try for date night?

Been to:
Cafe Primo
Caffe Acqua
Gawler Central
Southern Hotel
Playford Tavern
Midway Tavern
Golden Fleece
The Exchange
The Willaston

Neutral palette recs!

I want a neutral palette with black and a range of cool and warm browns. I also want it to have pigmented and blinding gold/silver/bronze foils. Don’t care about price, as long as it covers the above + pigmented and blends. I do my eyes first, so I also don’t care about fall out. I’m just sick of having to use 3 palettes just to get my once in a blue moon neutral look 😂

This is today’s look for example. Included some other examples of what I’ve worn before. (Second photo: my eyebrows were healing from the powder brow 😂)

Rose gold eyeliner

Forget the Eyemaxxing part. Let’s just appreciate the look as it is.

My eyebrows are tattooed and I went subtle on the eyes, so I chose a bold rosy lip. Yes, this is a subtle eye for me. I look hot!!

Product list in comments.

Repost.

BTW admins - product list was actually on my last post. And you removed it anyway. Thanks. Reposting xx

ADMINS - if I wasn’t clear enough. The products listed are on the last photo. Otherwise the screenshot gets lost in the comments. What’s the point in searching for it when a post requires it?

Also I read the comments on the last post, wasn’t asking about balance or eyeliner shape. I was asking about the rose gold eyeliner. I have a warm undertone but my ring light is cool.

I don’t overline, I have lip filler. I like the liner, it stays. I chose a darker lip on purpose because of my subtle eyes. Yes, that is subtle to me. No I’m not wearing false lashes because it’ll cover up the glitter liner. And no I’m not waterlining because that’s not the look I wanted.

Everything I applied is intentional.

Now, my actual question since you need it spelt for you. Do my eyes look bluer?

Any other questions?

First look in 2 months

In the 9 years of posting my makeup online, I took the longest break I’ve ever had! 2 months might not be much to you, but I went from posting 2-3 times a week to radio silence for 2 months. So I don’t think this is my best work. The lines aren’t clean! 😭 I don’t think any of the photos are flattering, it’s like I forgot all my best angles… but I’m happy to be creating looks I want to do, and not just for clicks. 🩷 Product listing on the last photo.

Also, Lexie, my cat, has been in my fb profile pics since I got her 5 years ago. She’s still deeply unimpressed.

Samples

I’m a pro MUA exhibiting locally at an expo later in the year. I’d like to have a free lucky dip at my stall. Is there anywhere online I can buy samples/minis in bulk that are brand new and authentic? Or know of any brands that sell mini versions for fairly cheap? I’d like to have around 20-30 items. Which becomes a problem if they’re like $30-40 each 😅

Full face of BYS: Review

I’ve been on the PR list for BYS for 5 years now. I haven’t done a full face of the brand since 2023 and I’ve accumulated so much since then that I was able to do another full face with new(ish) products from the last 3 years.

Looooool I know my brows are awful. I didn’t have a brow pencil (forgot I passed it on), so I used a BYS brown eyeliner. Guess we were having a bold brow day!

Full face of BYS
🎁 = gifted
💵 = purchased

⭐️ = hated it, will never repurchase.
⭐️⭐️ = a couple elements were okay, but mostly not great. unlikely to repurchase.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ = it’s not bad, but it’s also not very wow. very average.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ = great, but maybe 1 or 2 things I wish I could change about it. likely to repurchase
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ = absolutely phenomenal, will repurchase.

Cloud Skin Whipped Cream Moisturiser $14.95 🎁⭐️⭐️
It’s lightweight but does smell a bit rubbery like latex and didn’t do much for my dry skin. Packaging got clogged up.

Juicy Kiss Lip Oil Luminiser Guava $7.95 🎁⭐️⭐️⭐️
It’s more of a gloss than a true lip oil. Feels great on the lips but doesn’t really do anything beneficial.

Queen Bee 12pc Eyeshadow Palette $19.95 🎁⭐️⭐️⭐️
The mattes blend great, but you do have to build up the pigment. The shimmers are very pretty. Lasted well on the eyes, minimal flaking or creasing. The odd purple shade is patchy though. Would be 4 stars if it didn’t have it.

4-in-1 Shimmer Stick Crayon Stacker Mauvey Dovey $7.95 🎁⭐️⭐️⭐️
Colours are pretty and glowy. Innovative packaging I guess, but reminds me of kids makeup. It glides on nice but I find the packaging a bit difficult.

Metal Curl Mascara Waterproof Blackest Black $8.95 🎁⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Surprising quality. It lengthens my lashes and doesn’t flake or smudge on me. The only downside is my lashes don’t stay curled.

Be Free by BYS Clean Primer Serum $18.95 🎁⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My kind of primer for dull, dry skin. It’s dewy and tacky, applies like a watery gel. Very nice.

Cloud Skin Cooling Gel Foundation Fair Neutral $12.95 🎁⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Shade range sucks. It does feel cooling on the skin without that minty scent. A little thick but spreads evenly. Dewy finish, medium buildable coverage. Doesn’t oxidise, but it does lose its shine. It dries down as a natural matte over time.

Jelly Bomb Bronzer Stick Coco Glow $6.95 🎁⭐️
Instant no. It’s not a cream, it’s in a jelly stick format. Weird shimmer on it. Doesn’t blend. Kinda orange.

Liquid Blush Grace $8.95 🎁⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Very nice. Blends well, pretty colours, dewy finish. You do need to build it up if you love blush like me. Has a big doefoot applicator that I love.

Healthy Glow Blush Drops Sunset Pink $14.95 🎁⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
So beautiful!! It’s just the right pink shade and it’s dewy without being metallic. Blends super well. Won’t disturb your base underneath (the healthy glow highlight drops will 👀).

Glimmer Luminous Glow Highlighter Stick Crystal Rose $6.95 🎁⭐️⭐️
Pretty to swatch, but will disturb your base. Unusable.

Cloud Skin Cooling Hydro Loose Powder $11.95 🎁⭐️
Base was looking sooo pretty until I put this on. For ‘hydro’ in its name, it’s actually very dry. And to boot, you need a dust mask! It goes EVERYWHERE. It just floats in the air and you slowly choke to death. Translucent but flashback Mary.

Makeup Setting Spray Dewy $9.95 💵⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I wouldn’t say it leaves a dewy finish, but it is one of the few affordable sprays that will make sure your makeup won’t budge. I tested this a while ago and they have updated the packaging too. It’s a beautiful mist.

Pearl Pod Baked Blush Grace $8.95 🎁⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Beautiful. Some shades are a bit chalky and dusty, but the Grace shade is stunning. I just wish it was more pigmented! I love a glowy blush moment.

Diamond Highlighter Energy $7.95 💵⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’ve actually repurchased this over and over. If you like a champagne highlight beaming from space, this is for you! It doesn’t emphasise my scarring on my cheek and it’s very smooth.

Brow Styler Micro Brush Taupe $8.95 🎁⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It holds my brow hairs and gives that laminated look easy. But the product does have a tendency to blob around the brush, it picks too much up and I have to scrape it off.

Kiss Proof Lip Liner Fine Wine $9.95 🎁⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Doesn’t budge, creamy, easy to apply. The matching lipstick is horrible, but this is great! 😅 Actually kiss proof. Only slight issue is it can ball up on your lips if you apply too much.

Lip & Cheek Water Tint Blood Orange $7.95 🎁⭐️⭐️⭐️
Better than some affordable lip tints, but it’s actually too watery and takes a while to dry down. But once it does, it’s not going anywhere.

16 Hour Super Skinny Gel Eyeliner Black $7.95 🎁⭐️⭐️⭐️
Breaks easily because the eyeliner is micro sized. Waterproof, but not tear-proof. Smudges if you cry.

Longwear Matte Lip Crayon Maraschino $7.95 🎁⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The in-built sharpener isn’t functional. BUT it has a great creamy and pigmented application, it just glides on. It also lasts for a very long time if you let it dry.

Jelly Bomb Gel to Liquid Setting Spray $11.95 🎁⭐️⭐️
It’s a cool concept, but I didn’t feel it did much. Great mister on it.

Cloud Skin Fresh Cleansing Balm $11.95 🎁⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Absolutely phenomenal, I’ve just purchased another one. It effectively removes all your makeup, doesn’t leave a weird film on your face and you get a good amount.

BYS

I’ve been on BYS’ PR list for 5 years now as a consumer (I’m not an influencer and I’m not paid). Some of it is garbage, and I’ve also found some amazing hidden gems!

If anyone is thinking of a purchase, let me know and I’ll tell you if it’s good or not!

Lost my dog today, here’s a wintery look

It’s a cold & rainy July here. I’ve just had surgery to remove my wisdom tooth and we had to put our lovely boy to sleep today. So here’s a look I did to represent winter, beauty, and also melancholy. List of products in the end photo.

Experiences at Adelaide Tooth Removals (Windsor Gardens)

I’m in my late 20s having my first wisdom tooth removal, and my first surgery on Wednesday. Can I ask what your experience was like going here if you’ve been? They have to surgically extract it and cut into my gums. I’m very nervous at the dentist but can’t afford any anything but a local anaesthetic on my disability pension. So I’m very desperate to get this tooth out so I can go back to my work (I work for myself), but I’m also very nervous 🥹

Recs for green colour corrector

Either a primer or a concealer. We use Dermacolour at my campus but I’d like to have one in my kit. I don’t really have redness myself, so I don’t own one. I’d prefer drugstore, but as long as it works and I can easily depot it.

MUAs: Recs for green colour corrector

Either a primer or a concealer. We use Dermacolour at my campus but I’d like to have one in my kit. I don’t really have redness myself, so I don’t own one. I’m not bothered if it’s drugstore or high end, as long as it works and I can easily depot it.

My hot takes as a pro mua

Any of these you agree with or disagree with? These may not be hot takes at all but they are to me 😂

  1. Yes, there are drugstore products in my kit. I’ve got $15 foundations lasting 16 hours with the right prep. I’d rather have products that I know work than fill my kit with high-end products I haven’t properly tested.

  2. I don’t do bridal makeup. I don’t know if I ever will! The market already has so many beautiful and talented artists specialising in weddings. I’d rather stay in my colourful, creative lane.

  3. I won’t do something that I know I can’t do. I’m not taking your hard-earned money if I know I’m going to do a half-assed job. If I’m not confident I can give you a great result, I’ll tell you.

  4. I’m firm on my pricing. I won’t overcharge you, but I won’t undersell myself either. I charge according to my skills, products, time, and experience. If you’re looking for someone cheaper, that’s completely okay.

  5. I tailor the skin prep to every client. I have a variety of skincare and primers because every skin is different. What works for one person won’t necessarily work for another.

  6. I read every situation and decide how I should act. If you open up about your trauma, I’ll share too. If you swear, I’ll swear too. If you want to chat the whole appointment, we can do that. If you want a bit of quiet, we can have quiet. The makeup matters, but so does the experience.

Gold pigmented highlighter?

Looking for recs on a very high shine beaming from space golden highlighter that doesn’t come up as an icy metallic. Nothing white-gold either.

I’ve tried the balm Mary-Lou, Maybelline master chrome, and I didn’t like either.

I love my benefit cookie highlighter but I want something a bit more golden and warm toned sometimes. I do love the rare beauty highlighters but I haven’t tried the gold one from them yet.

I don’t mind if it’s a bit glittery as long as I can get my golden stripe out of it 😂

For funsies…

Show me your oldest photos when you started doing makeup.

Embarrassing? A little.

Evidence of growth? Absolutely.

Omg I was so proud of those brows too 😂😭 They need their own postcode! Thankfully my eyebrows are microbladed now with *some* original hair remaining 😂

These photos are very 2017 of me 😂😂 Current makeup photo at the end.

Icy blue & purple look

LIST OF PRODUCTS IN LAST PHOTO

I’ve been feeling a bit bored of makeup lately. I used to love creating but using lashes, cleaning my brushes, washing it off etc all seems like big chores that it’s putting me off. And tbh this is one of the only looks I’ve liked doing this year so far
