‘98 C1500 No crank No start

Been having this issue for a few weeks on my ‘98 silverado c1500, automatic truck. Go to turn the truck on in the morning and I am getting power to dash, lights, hear fuel pump priming up, etc. but there is zero crank when I turn the key over.

I had an old battery when this first happened, so I took it out and checked it - also charged it up, reinstalled and the truck turned over and started fine. Ran good for a few days and the issue came up again. This time I popped the hood, wiggled the cables a bit, smacked the alternator a few times, and sure enough it fired up….Decided I would try getting a new battery.

So I got a new battery, cleaned up the terminal ends, got new terminal bolts, and installed new battery. Truck turned over fine and ran good for a week until this morning, again it is just no crank but all power, etc.

Getting tired of the unreliability…. What should I do to accurately troubleshoot this?

I have been reading it’s got to be either; alternator, starter, starter solenoid, or the neutral safety switch.

I saw one guy mention if you have power + hear the fuel pump going, its more likely the neutral switch or starter/solenoid?

Changed brake pads - is this normal?

Just changed the brake pads on this 1998 C1500. Routine seemed to be fine, but noticed this ungodly grinding after I put the wheel back on. I am assuming this isn’t normal…?

[Question] Seiko Lord-Matic Vintage

Has anybody here got knowledge of the classic faceted crystal Lord-Matic references? I want to build up the full suite into my collection at some point, and so far I have seen blue/green/brown & red dial options with the 5606 movement.

Is that pretty much the collection I should be looking to buy? Cheers!

Garage man door help?

I have noticed my garage man door has a pretty big gap underneath of it. I believe it must be due to the concrete being a bit wonky or sloping, leaving a fair sized gap where I have noticed alot of light leakage and debris coming into the garage.

What could be the best way to plug this up? I was looking at these “automatic door bottom” gadgets, but wonder if there is any easier ways?

Any good deals here? [SSC777]

Noticed these three models at a discount place this morning, these prices are in Canadian dollars.

Looks to me like the following models, from left to right…

SSC777 listed at $188

SUR419P1 listed at $95 (this one looks well used)

SUR446P1 listed at $167

Would these be a good buy? I am drawn to that SSC777 a bit, but dont know a lot about them.

Cheers

Any advise on these two?

Hey there,

Just getting into watches - I have a friend who is willing to sell me these two pieces, just wondering what would be a fair price here? As far as I know they are both in good working condition as well as original. I believe I could get them quite cheap as owner is not attached, but want to make a fair offer still!

Cheers!

Finally got the 90 minute mud to fill the large discrepancy on the edges, and did some skim coats over top with a joint compound. It feels fairly smooth after sanding, noticed just a couple small spots with minimal pin-holing. Overall I think I am satisfied and will prime the patch and paint in a few weeks. Probably ended up using a bit too much on the skim coats (went through around 1.5 to 2L of compound) - but the Fibafuse tape seemed to protrude a lot unless I put it on pretty thick at first…

Hi, I bought this tree form panicled hydrangea and it had good growth last season. I trimmed the stalk in the late winter but it never budded again, although this new growth sprouted at the base. Any ideas, and could the stalk bud again next season if I can heal the plant?
