Vivera retainers: why do I need a rescan every time I replace them?

I’ve been in my retainers for about 5 years now, after finishing my aligner treatment. I wear my retainers every night without fail. My teeth are still straight but over time I can tell there’s a little bit of shifting. So when I request replacement retainers (Vivera) I’m told I need a new scan for them to order from. Why?? Wouldn’t we want the retainers to be in the shape I had right when my teeth were perfect out of my aligner treatment? Why go by a scan where they might have shifted a little and aren’t quite as straight as they originally were? This makes no sense to me. When I asked my orthodontist about this, they agreed but told me that it’s Invisalign’s policy to only replace the aligners with a new scan despite them having the information to create retainers from my original scans. Or is my orthodontist feeding me a line? And paying 500.00 per retainer… ugh. I’m retired and this is getting expensive.

Cushings Disease?

Recently my pups vet said she suspects he may have Cushings disease based on a blood test. He’s about 9 years old and other than being a little overweight, he hasn’t exhibited any symptoms that would typically be associated with Cushings.

He’s been on a low fat prescription diet for about 8 months. She said there’s a test she can do that requires him to be in the vets office for a full day to draw blood at various times to confirm Cushings. My understanding is Cushings is diagnosed from high cortisol levels in the blood. My pup is a love bug mamas boy who gets very anxious being away from me and gets anxious at the vets. (He’s the poster pup for a Velcro dog.) Which I feel spikes his cortisol levels. I’m really hesitant to put him through a full day of testing like that.

Can anyone who’s been through this with their pup tell me your experience? I only want the best for him and if he truly does have Cushings disease I’d want to have him treated properly for it. His next visit with the vet is in October and I’m just trying to figure out the next plan of action for him.

My backstory.. I do trust our vet but I guess I have a little PTSD regarding vets. My previous rescue pup went in for a tooth extraction (different vet) and she “accidentally” killed him because she forgot that he had gauze in his throat while he was under, and he died from an obstructed airway. So I’m super protective of this pup. He’s the sweetest boy ever and the idea of dropping him at the vet for a whole day for tests while I’m not there makes me sick.

How to find a job at 62?

Edit to add: I do NOT want to go back into healthcare. I don’t have any desire to deal with that broken system anymore.

I was licensed in the healthcare field for 35 years until my elderly mom got sick and needed my full time care. I left my career at age 57 to help out so she could remain comfortable in her home until she passed. My husband’s income was enough so I was blessed that I was able to do that, and mom passed 2 years ago.

Now that her estate has been settled, I’d really like to find a part time job just to keep myself busy and to pay for my health insurance until I’m eligible for Medicare in 3 more years. I started collecting social security when I turned 62 and recently my husband’s employer has been cutting back on benefits so I find myself without health insurance now. I’m relatively healthy but the thought of being without health insurance scares me; I just need to make enough to cover a plan I can pay for.

I consider myself intelligent with a college degree, but I’m clueless on how to apply for a part time job! I’d be happy being a shelf stocker or store greeter… nothing complicated! But gone are the days that you go into a store or business and apply for a part time job. It seems like everything is done online, and having been out of the workforce for so long seems to be against me.

Any suggestions? Or do I just cross my fingers and hope I stay healthy and remain without health insurance until I’m eligible for Medicare? I’m beyond frustrated over here.

Can’t upload a video to my Facebook page after clearing my Facebook cache this morning.

I’ve been trying to upload a video to my page and I get these notifications and it won’t upload. I’ve never had an issue before. This morning I cleared my Facebook cache. The video is cute, nothing bad in it. I’ve powered my phone on and off, and removed the app. Now I go to the iPhone App Store to add it back and it just has the option to open Facebook, but the app won’t show up anywhere on my app screen. Any ideas what is going on?

Does anyone also inject NAD+?

I’ve (62 YO) been on Test Proprionate injections since December. I started because I was exhausted all the time and when I had my levels tested, my total T was 6. Over time it’s up to 58 now, and I’m injecting 5mg 4 times a week. I’ve seen a little improvement but not as much as I’d hoped for.

UNTIL…
Last week I added NAD+ injections after researching how they can also help with energy. It’s amazing how my energy levels are up where they haven’t been in years! Is it just the NAD+ that’s doing this, or a combination of both? I’m due for another blood test but I’m tempted to discontinue the testosterone when I’ve used up my vials and see if I’m good with just taking NAD+. I’m starting to feel like a pincushion lately, and the injections are expensive and not covered by insurance.

Has anyone else added NAD+ to their testosterone? Anyone stopped taking testosterone and started NAD? I’d love to hear what your experiences are if you have.

I (62F) recently switched from taking Zoloft at night (I had tapered from 50mg to 25mg) to 150mg Bupropion XL in the morning. I switched because after 2 years on Zoloft, I was feeling flat and tired. My doctor felt Bupropion might be a better option at this point, to help me with motivation and more energy.

Day 1 I felt tired still.

Day 2 was better but just a little.

Days 3-4 I felt lots of energy.

Days 5-8 I was back to exhaustion and laying around. I had motivation…just no energy to do anything with it. But I felt like around 6pm the exhaustion was wearing off and I had more energy.

Last night I decided to take it before bed, at 8pm. I also take 300mg of Gabapentin at night.

I fell asleep earlier than normal and had a solid 8 hours of sleep. I woke up feeling refreshed and energetic this morning and I can already tell today is going to be a productive day!

I’ll update on how things go from here with taking it at night, just to give my experiences as an example to anyone else dealing with the same thing. Maybe it’s just my body adjusting to a new med, but I feel like it’s more of taking it at night vs. the morning that’s making me feel better today.
