A guy nearly hit my car while forcing his way into the drive-thru line, so I made sure he got one last message on my way out

Last week I was getting Taco Bell with my younger cousin after seeing Spider-Man: Brand New Day. It was almost 1 a.m. and, embarrassingly, this was actually my first time going through a drive-thru behind the wheel.

There was already a line of cars, with everyone just sitting there waiting their turn, when this guy came in from the parking lot on my left.

He had arrived after all of us. All he had to do was drive around the parking lot, which would’ve taken maybe two minutes, and get in line behind me like everyone else.

Apparently two minutes was too much.

As the car in front of me started moving up, this guy came through the parking lot and tried to cut into the line. Then a gap opened up between my car and the car ahead of me, and he immediately started squeezing his car into it.

He was literally driving across the accessible parking spaces and inching closer and closer to my car.

At one point, we were just sitting there staring straight at each other through our windows, both waiting for the car ahead of me to move. I was already so close to it that I basically had nowhere to go. I couldn’t move forward, I couldn’t really move to the right, and he just kept creeping in from the left like he knew eventually I’d have no choice but to let him in.

And apparently he was right, because my options were either to let him in or risk getting my car scraped because some random guy couldn’t wait his turn for fast food at 1 a.m.

I let him in.

But I absolutely laid on the horn.

He looked at me. I looked at him. Message received.

He also had a girl in the passenger seat, so at least someone else got to witness the whole performance.

Then he finally got to the speaker, and after cutting through the parking lot, forcing his way into the line, and nearly hitting my car…

this man ordered five nuggets.

Five.

Nuggets.

I was genuinely offended, you were willing to introduce our insurance companies to each other for FIVE NUGGETS? 😭

Not even a full meal. Five nuggets.

And somehow he still wasn’t done being annoying.

After ordering, he barely moved forward even though there was plenty of space in front of him, which meant I couldn’t properly move up either, and neither could the people behind me. Maybe it was a coincidence, but considering I had just honked the absolute shit out of him, I had my doubts.
The employees looked exhausted and, of course, he was rude to them too.

Eventually, he got his five precious nuggets and drove off.
I figured that was the end of it.

It wasn’t.

He drove for maybe ten seconds, pulled into the parking lot, and parked right next to the restaurant.

That somehow annoyed me all over again.

So you nearly hit my car because waiting another two minutes was apparently unbearable… only to park twenty feet away and eat your five nuggets?

Earlier, I’d considered getting out and confronting him, but my cousin stopped me. Probably for the best. Getting into an argument with a stranger at 1 a.m. over five nuggets would’ve been ridiculous.

Then our food arrived, and when we went to leave, I realized the exit took me directly past where he had parked.
My cousin noticed it too. He looked at the guy’s car, then at me, and said:

“You can honk at him again now.”

I considered it for approximately half a second.

Then I drove past his car, held down the horn, and gave him the biggest middle finger I could manage.

He saw it. The girl in his passenger seat saw it.
And all he could do was sit there with his five nuggets and watch me drive away.

Petty? Absolutely.
Worth it? Also absolutely.

I just hope those five nuggets were good.

Flipping him off was.

My cousin attended my rapist’s wedding and I don’t think I can ever look at her the same way again.

Several years ago, I was raped by a male relative.

Another cousin of mine has known for years. I told her myself. And we weren’t distant cousins either. We were close and I loved her, trusted her, genuinely liked spending time with her. She knows what happened, she knows who did it and she has seen what the aftermath has looked like for me.

We’ve argued about her keeping a relationship with him before.
Her explanation was basically that after losing someone very important in her immediate family, family became extremely important to her and she couldn’t bring herself to cut certain relatives off. I didn’t agree, at all, but I tried to understand.

Then he got married.

And she went.

Not because she happened to be there. Not because she had no choice. She literally bought a last-minute international flight and went out of her way to attend his wedding.
Because of her travel arrangements, she also stayed at my family’s house the night before.

That fucked with my head.
She barely comes over anymore, yet somehow I’m supposed to share a roof with her while she’s getting ready to fly somewhere to celebrate the man who raped me?

No.

So before she left for the airport, I left the house.
I didn’t say goodbye, I didn’t confront her I didn’t make a scene, I just took myself out of the situation.

And instead of sitting somewhere spiraling, I decided to actually take care of myself. I bought books and a notebook, got myself something nice to eat, sat in a park, wrote, read, wandered around a bookstore for way too long lol.

It was self-preservation but also kind of a reward to myself. Like, okay, you chose yourself today and You didn’t force yourself to stand there smiling, pretending everything was normal just to make everybody else comfortable.
Go have a nice day with yourself.

And I’m genuinely glad I did.

Then she posted the wedding on her public story.
Pictures, videos, everything.

And I was just like… seriously?
You couldn’t even spare me that?

I know it’s her social media and she can post whatever she wants. Maybe she didn’t think about me at all when she posted it. Maybe she did. I don’t know.

But that’s kind of the problem too.
I haven’t been sleeping properly for about a week. This whole thing shocked me way more than I expected.

It’s not even grief. I feel like I already grieved so much of this. It’s more like a wound that keeps getting opened again and again by people who KNOW it’s there.

And now she’s still sending me random Snaps like nothing happened 😭
Just normal everyday stuff.
Like girl… what exactly are we doing here?

A few weeks before all of this, she was going through something completely unrelated and I spent time on the phone comforting her. Listening to her, reassuring her, trying to make her feel better. And it was genuine.
I wasn’t doing it because “she’s family” or because I expected something back. I did it because I loved her and she was hurting, so obviously I wanted to be there for her.

That’s what really gets me.

How am I supposed to be the person you call when you’re hurting, love you genuinely, comfort you, care about what happens to you… and then watch you actively make an effort to celebrate the person who caused one of the deepest wounds of my life?

Apparently she can separate those things but I can’t.

I keep trying to put myself in her position and every single time I reach the same conclusion: if someone I loved told me that a relative raped them, I could not voluntarily go celebrate that person’s wedding.

I’d be ashamed and maybe I need to stop trying to understand something that just doesn’t make sense within my own values.
We already talked about it before. More than once.

She knew.

That’s really what it comes down to for me.

She knew and she still chose to go.

I don’t want another conversation about it. I don’t want an apology. I don’t want revenge and I definitely don’t want some giant dramatic family confrontation.

I’ve already removed her from the private parts of my social media. I think eventually I’ll just remove her completely.
And weirdly, I’m okay with not handling this perfectly.

That day, taking myself out and buying myself books was what I needed.

Tomorrow it might be crying. Another day I might fill an entire notebook page with pure anger. And another day I might be having a great day and barely think about any of this.
Whatever.

I love myself and I respect myself enough to let myself go through it however I need to.

What I’m not going to do anymore is keep giving someone access to me when having them close makes me feel like I’m betraying myself.

Hope this story can inspire someone else to remember that dignity and consideration are not things people get to fuck with. Godspeed to anyone who can relate.

How do you decide what parts of your dating or sexual history to share with someone new?

What makes you decide whether an ex or past sexual experience is relevant enough to mention to someone you’re dating?

Why would a guy (25M) suddenly bring up a past FWB with me (27F) after a year of never discussing our dating histories?

I (27F) have known this guy (25M) for about a year.

We’ve been circling around each other for that whole time, and neither of us has ever talked about our exes, dating histories, or sex lives.

I’m extremely private about that stuff, and he’s never brought it up either.

Recently, we were discussing what we want from relationships and our views on casual dating. He suddenly brought up a previous FWB and went into quite a bit of detail about her and their dynamic.

It caught me off guard because we’ve literally never discussed anything like this before. I didn’t ask follow-up questions and redirected the conversation because the information felt irrelevant to me.

Why would someone suddenly introduce their sexual/dating past after a year of never mentioning it? What would you make of the timing and the level of detail? Would you read anything into it at all?

What goes through your mind when a woman you’re dating never mentions her exes?

I’m curious about your personal experience with this. If you’re getting to know a woman and realize she never brings up previous relationships, people she’s dated, or her sexual past, what impression does that leave on you?

A guy randomly DMed me on Discord and now we’re talking about meeting IRL. How cautious should I be?

A guy randomly DMed me on Discord after we played the same game. I normally wouldn’t entertain a random DM, but we kept talking and we actually get along really well.

It started completely casually, but he’s now mentioned meeting IRL and there’s definitely a bit of flirting going on.
The thing is, I still don’t really know who he is IRL. I’ve only seen a very pixelated profile picture. He’s told me his first name and roughly where he lives, but obviously that doesn’t verify anything.

Has anyone here had a similar experience where you met someone randomly through Discord/gaming and it eventually turned romantic or moved IRL?

What would you personally want to verify before meeting them? Would you exchange socials, video call first, etc.?

Does TikTok pay creators in Canada? If so, what’s your experience?

I’m seeing mixed information online.
Is anyone here based in Canada and actually getting paid directly by TikTok?
If yes, how has your experience been? Is it worth it, or are most of your earnings coming from brand deals, affiliate marketing, or something else?

I (26F) went on 12 dates with a 25M, we never kissed, and I still don’t understand what happened. How do I make sense of this?

TL;DR: I (26F) went on around 12 dates with a 25M over several months. We had chemistry, talked for hours, never kissed, never argued, and never officially ended things. We still occasionally talk. I’m not looking to get him back, I just want to understand what happened.

About a year and a half ago, I met a guy (25M), and over the course of a few months we went on around 12 dates.
Every date felt effortless. We’d spend hours talking, we’d laugh a lot, and I genuinely felt there was chemistry between us. After almost every date, I found myself thinking, “Maybe next time he’ll kiss me.”

But… he never did.

He never really made a physical move, and I never wanted to force anything either. There wasn’t another person, no rejection, no fight, no ghosting, no awkward conversation. One day we just… stopped going on dates.

The strange part is that we still occasionally talk. It’s friendly, there’s no resentment, but because nothing ever really happened, I feel like my brain never got an ending to the story.
What confuses me most is why someone would keep asking someone out for 12 dates if they never intended to move the relationship forward.

If you’ve been the guy in this situation, what was going through your mind? Were you interested but too hesitant? Waiting for a signal? Emotionally unavailable? Or did you enjoy the company without ever seeing it becoming a relationship?
I’m not asking whether I should reach out to him. I’m trying to understand the dynamic itself because the more I think about it, the less sense it makes to me.

I’d really appreciate hearing from people who’ve been on either side of something like this.
