Can an SSD Swap Kill a Motherboard 8 Days Later? (My Family is Blaming Me for a Dead Laptop)

The Timeline and Facts

  1. The Initial Setup: I have two laptops: a Lenovo IdeaPad s145 15api and a Dell Latitude 3460.
  2. The Reason for the Swap: I wanted to boost the Lenovo's performance by putting a SATA SSD into it. Since the Dell isn't used as much, I decided to put the Lenovo's HDD into the Dell.
  3. The Safe Installation: I took proper cloud backups, made sure both laptops were completely powered off, and disconnected the batteries before swapping the 2.5" drives. Fortunately, the Dell 3460 has a separate bottom access panel just for the drive, so the main motherboard was never exposed or touched during the process.
  4. Seven Days of Perfect Operation: The swap was completely successful. I restored the backups, reinstalled Windows 10, updated the BIOS from the official Dell site, updated all drivers, and installed Office and other tools. The Dell worked flawlessly under this heavy load for 7 straight days.
  5. The 8th Day Hand-off: On the 8th day, another family member took the Dell to be used in a completely different location.
  6. The Warning Signs at the New Location: Before it completely died, the family member mentioned that the Dell was shutting down automatically and frequently while they were using it.
  7. The Complete Power Failure: Now, the laptop will not turn on at all. The charger is working because the charging LED turns on, and the battery is brand new. I even removed the battery and tried booting it on wall power alone, but it still won't boot.
  8. The Unfair Blame: Despite the laptop working perfectly for a week, my family is entirely blaming my drive swap as the one and only reason for the failure. I am trying to explain to them that frequent, sudden shutdowns point to transit damage, overheating, or a bad power outlet at the new location—not a hard drive swap from a week ago.

The Problem:

  • Despite working perfectly for a week, my family is blaming my drive swap as the one and only reason the laptop is dead.
  • I am trying to explain that frequent, sudden shutdowns point to a hardware safety trigger—like overheating, physical transit damage, or an electrical short from a bad wall outlet at the new location.

Am I crazy? Can a hard drive swap physically cause a motherboard to start randomly shutting down and die 8 days later? I need tech experts to help me prove that this is a hardware impossibility so I can clear my name!

Looking for a truly FREE and UNLIMITED animated captions generator (no paywalls/watermarks), if paid then mention free loophole

I’m getting into content creation and I am losing my mind trying to find a decent captioning tool that doesn't hold my videos hostage behind a paywall.

It feels like every tool out there (Submagic, Captions app, Veed, etc.) advertises itself as "free," but once you spend time tweaking the perfect animated, word-by-word (Hormozi-style) captions, they hit you with:

If tool is paid and limited trial you can share loophole to Bypass limit and use for free
