Just listened to this new album: 'Shock Value' by Timbaland

Came in expecting the usual pop/R&B but the album as a whole is very eclectic. Its hard to choose a favourite track but it would be either 'Come And Get Me' or 'Scream', depends if you want something hardcore or laid back

Burnout Paradise Decomp sitting at 93.5%

I don't know if anybody has seen this but apparently, there is a 'Burnout Paradise' decomp in the works. When I first saw it on r/burnout, it was sitting in the high-80s. Now its 93.5%

Even in just the past couple of days, the progress tracker has been updated to include a breakdown of what functions are done, blocked, not started, etc.

The GitHub repo has Claude in it which makes this decomp AI-based and possibly automated but it appears to be informed and ethical. I'm hoping that any subsequent recomp/port won't be vibe-coded (AI-assistance is okay)

The Hyper-Ordinary Pre-Order Law

Premise

I'm gonna take a page from r/crazydictatorideas (which unfortunately isn't as active as it used to be) and pass a new law on behalf of the RGG fandom.

As some of you may have noticed by now, RGG has a specific mascot for the pre-order bonuses in their more recent games. He has since been referred to as "(Hyper-Ordinary) Pre-Order Man".

Outside of RGG games themselves, Hyper-Ordinary Pre-Order Man has also been sighted in 'Dave The Diver', at least two Sonic Kart games, and probably other titles I can't think off the top of my head. Hence, I believe it should be made official that all video games including pre-order bonuses will use Hyper-Ordinary Pre-Order Man going forward.

---

The Law

Any video game that grants bonus content with pre-orders, or an equivalent edition must include at least one item related to Hyper-Ordinary Pre-Order Man.

The item may be included alongside any other intended pre-order content as long as it is directly related to Hyper-Ordinary Pre-Order Man.

The item itself can be any type of content that would be normally available in the base game.

The item may also be tailored so that it is relevant to the game's era, themes, aesthetic, genre, existing content, et. cetera, as long as it can be clearly recognized as being related to Hyper-Ordinary Pre-Order Man.

The item must also be of a visual format. It must not purely consist of text, music, or anything that isn't visual to the player. Other formats may be used as long as the visual component is satisfied.

The item must be encountered during regular gameplay and not locked or hidden by any means including Easter Eggs. It may be naturally integrated into the game and its existing content as long as it can be easily encountered while playing the game normally.

Multiple items related to Hyper-Ordinary Pre-Order Man may be included as long as at least one item satisfies all of the above criteria.

All pre-order content related to Hyper-Ordinary Pre-Order Man, regardless if it satisfies all of the above criteria, must be exclusive to pre-ordered editions of the game for the first 180 days post-release (approx. 6 months). After that, it may be sold separately, released as a free patch, or otherwise made widely available. The 180 day exclusivity period is to ensure that this content is available from pre-ordering the game.

The law will take effect immediately for any video games with a release date of 1 January 2027 onwards. The effective release date is regardless if it has been publicly announced or not.

For games released in 2025 and 2026, if it is technically feasible for the developer to identify those who have pre-ordered the game or otherwise own an equivalent edition, content related to Hyper-Ordinary Pre-Order Man must be retroactively implemented and granted to those existing customers at no extra charge. This retroactive content must be released by 1 March 2027. The retroactive pre-order content is exempt from the 180 day exclusivity period. It may be released immediately to players who haven't pre-ordered the game as long as those who have pre-ordered receive it immediately and for free.

Games released in 2024 or earlier are grandfathered in, with no changes required.

All RGG games released prior to 2027, regardless of the original release date or whether it already includes Hyper-Ordinary Pre-Order Man content are specifically exempt. However, RGG games being released in 2027 onwards are not exempt and must be fully compliant.

'Squidward Nose' by cupcakKe should had been used instead of 'Pound Town'

They're both trap-style hip-hop songs from Female artists who have oversexualized personas with extremely graphic lyrics. The main difference with 'Squidward Nose' is that its not meant to be taken seriously, and its actually kind of funny and not gross.

Is there a lore reason why Playa in SR1 earns money from controlled hoods?

As you know, you earn a certain amount of money each in-game day for each neighbourhood that The Saints control. A couple of weeks ago u/CommyGT released The Mean Streets which is a mod/romhack for Saints Row 1 that is designed to make the game more difficult. When I went to the forum thread and read through the changelog, something stood out to me.

>-Until you [beat all of the gangs and become Julius' right-hand], you have no access to the Saint's funds. Your crib's safes will hold no money until then. You will struggle.
-Hoods now generate insane amounts of cash. Too bad you won't see it until the end.

Obviously this makes the game harder since you won't have any consistent income until the end of the game. You'll have to earn money completely on your own. At the same time, Commy raises a good point. The 'city income' in SR2 onwards makes sense because you are the boss but in SR1 until the epilogue, you're a high-level street thug at best. There isn't any apparent lore reason why you earn 'tribute' from controlled neighbourhoods. Its understandable from a pure gameplay standpoint and most people won't say no to free money but there still isn't any real explanation. I'm not referring to where the money itself comes from, but why the Playa is somehow entitled to it.

I don't know how organized The Saints are in terms of hierarchy (They're a street gang, not the Mafia) but its entirely possible that the Playa actually does rise through the ranks and is put in charge of their own crew as The Saints grow larger but again, this isn't shown or explained in-game, unless you count having more 'homie' slots but that's more of a gameplay feature than anything else.

To be honest, I don't think the devs thought about this too much, nor they expect Commy or myself to think about it either. Even then, the hood income is easy to ignore. You can just not collect it. I just wanted to post this and see what everybody else's thoughts are.

The 'Would You Rather' trailer for Saints Row 2 now feels more relevant than ever

I watched a certain video regarding a certain other game and, not gonna lie, it was pretty good. However, I am far more excited about what's happening in the decomp/recomp scene right now, including a potential classic Saints Row revival.

Love & Money

Lucia then sits down at the end of the bed, where Jason joins her by sitting next to her. She undoes her ponytail, letting her hair flow freely. Jason uses his hand to caress her face, and moves some of her hair out of the way, she gently grabs a hold of his hand and kisses it, holding it against her face. She looks over at him, those big brown eyes gazing into his. In the background, we can hear Love & Money by Bronski Beat begin to fade in and play.

LUCIA: What?

JASON: You know, everyday I find myself asking the same question.

LUCIA: Yeah?

JASON: How did I get so lucky?

LUCIA: You know, I sometimes ask myself that too.

They scoot a little bit more closer to each other, leaning their heads toward each other until they’re touching.

JASON: It’s crazy, you know?

LUCIA: Life is crazy.

JASON: Well, maybe we’re the crazy ones.

LUCIA: Maybe we are. Maybe, we’re the most normal ones on this planet. We see it for what it is, ya know?

Lucia lies down on her back, scooting back towards the headboard. Jason does the same, turning on his side facing Lucia

JASON: Which would be?

LUCIA: That for people like us, we’re set up to fail. To amount to nothing. Always struggling, never succeeding. Forever in debt.

Lucia begins undoing her jeans and slides out of them.

JASON: The rich get richer, the poor get poorer.

LUCIA: The American Dream.

Lucia pulls off her panties.

JASON: There was a time in history, where some criminals were almost like folk heroes, legends. They were called Public Enemies. People who had enough and decided they didn’t wanna die broke and starving. Playing by the rules just meant prolonging your misery, so they decided to just go out and take what they wanted.

LUCIA: What good are the rules, if all they do is keep you down and only benefit the select few?

Lucia grabs Jason’s hand and puts it between her legs. She lets out a soft moan. Jason moves in closer to her and kisses her on the neck.

JASON: Some rules are just meant to be broken.

LUCIA: You know what they say, cheaters never win.

Jason climbs on top of Lucia, he pulls her top up, exposing her midriff and he kisses her there.

JASON: Some do.

LUCIA: Then we should just go out and take it. f*ck the rules.

Jason continues kissing her stomach, but begins moving further down her body. The camera pans upwards to focus on Lucia’s face. We can see from her facial expressions, her breathing, and the little moans she lets out that she’s in total ecstasy. Lost to pleasure.

JASON: We'll take the money…

LUCIA: Yes…

JASON: We'll take one of those big houses on the islands…

LUCIA: Oh yes...

JASON: We're gonna take it all...

LUCIA: Take me… *in Spanish*

As the song continues building up, we can see Lucia getting increasingly close to climaxing. We see one of her hands tightly gripping the bed’s blanket. Her other hand gripping Jason’s hair. Her back arching. Her eyes closed, mouth open, her breathing getting heavier, and her moans louder.

And just as the sax solo kicks in (at 3:26), Lucia finally climaxes. And with that, the scene and music fade to black. From here, the mission is complete.

Did anybody watch this show back in the day?

I keep seeing ads for it on Channel Ten but I can't seem to find it on any streaming service, or much info about it in general. Looks like some old action show from the 80s like MacGyver or something. Do any of you recognize this?
