Dislike of trees.

We have lived in an area where the East Indian community has slowly become the majority over the last 35 years. In that time we have watched as they buy older homes and build new larger ones to meet their needs.
What has also become apparent (at least we think so) is the majority of them rather not have large trees on their properties. Not just from the fact that 90% of their homes have no trees, but that they cut them all down. (Even ones that are say 100 ft away from the house and pose no problems.) Ok there is the exception here and there but even in conversation with other people, they have noticed a similar pattern.

So do East Indians dislike trees and why?

Bigfoot propane box material

I’m thinking this is a polypropylene material and want to know what sealant to use around the edges.

Going to the airport to drop of the kids.

It is their Prius and I will take them to the airport. A week later I will leave on the exact day they come home. 4 hours difference, so the plan is to take the new 2024 Prius to the airport, get on my flight and they will drive it home. Simple, right?. But every time I try to lock the fob inside the car it will not lock. Just a long beep.

In my old simple key'd car I could toss it in the glove box and lock the door. Done! They arrive use the key they have and drive home.

So is there a way to do this with these cars or are they just too smart for the simple things in life? Or is the new method just too stupid for such a simple plan?

Torque spec for smaller bolts

I found a chart but don’t think the no’s are right. It is attached. The bolt attaches the throttle body to the intake manifold and uses two small M6 bolts (I checked with a micrometer and they are 6mm diameter) These have a 10 mm SHCS head and screw into aluminum threads. I don’t see how these need 9Nm of torque. That’s at the top end of my 1/4 dr torque wrench and you don’t need a 3/8 drive ratchet to tighten these. Edit: 1997 328i

Why is it dripping?

I have a friend who owns a Deli and her AC unit has dripped like this ever since it was installed.
The regular water line works fine and fills the bucket, but the dripping drives her nuts.
I assume the condensation on the white pipe is normal?
The whole tray that the AC is mounted on seems to be wet.

Need door hinge suggestions

These cheap knockoffs finally broke after 15 years. The pc that broke makes it impossible to repair so I am looking for some sort of hinge (I would prefer a simple one) that still gives the same fit.
Is that possible?

I’m showing the type of hinge I have and a shot of the door closed.

Choice of travel options to Berlin.

Our travel plans have us driving From Annaberg-Bucholz, through Erzgebirge to Glashütte & Dresden, then up to Berlin. A one day trip.

We thought to drop off the rental car at the Berlin Airport and take a train to our hotel, which is close to the Hackescher Markt station. We no longer need a car after this.
I also thought to drop it off in Dresden and take the train from there. Arrival time in Berlin would be 19:00-21:00 if we took the car and perhaps the same if we train it.
The key difference is the hassle /annoyance of the Autobahn to the Berlin Airport around that time on the 16th of July? For me the train would be a relaxing change of pace as I never use a train for travel.

Edit: rental car, should have been more clear about that.

Weight distribution

Question about weight distribution on a Bombardier Q400 Westjet flight. Flight from northern prairie area. Plane wasn’t full, but before takeoff they asked two people, from rows 4-7 (also not full) to move to the back. 1 guy did and after some consultation with the pilot (arms in the air, big shrugs from the flight attendant, no one else moved and we took off.
So I wondered if there was an explanation? I also wondered how much harder it is to fly the plane this way? Could those people have moved back for takeoff only? In hindsight I suppose I could have moved as I was in row 8.

We will be in Berlin in July and hope to visit an FKK beach or place that like minded (55-65) couples frequent.

Recommendations please.
