I have a thinkpad T450s with kubuntu on it. A couple of days ago I turned my PC on when I noticed the brightness of my PC is pretty much higher than usual. So I tried to lower it using the system settings > display menu. But to my surprise the brightness was already at 30%. When i tried to make it go higher or lower the brightness didn't change at all.
Now tell me what should I do to fix this issue?

They are so obsessed with the term "Gen z" that I find it rather offensive. I feel like it has become a slur or a synonym for calling someone dumb.

I had a dream since I was in school to study in the states. I heard that there are many opportunities that you can get if you want to do that.
So please if someone can guide me on how to do that what could be the first steps. I have some questions:
Where to start from? What is the roadmap what to do?
When to stary i have heard people get into masters as assitants for teachers by mailing them. So when should i start mailing professors and how to persuade them? FYI i have more than enough experience in IT then many of the students in my class.
Money is the only problem that could get into my way of turning my dream into reality so i want to prepare good and as soon as possible if required.
Some people told me instead of masters go for PHD idk it was weird when i heard you can do PHD (fully funded) by skipping masters entirely there is that true?

I have a thinkpad t450s with i5-5200U. With an integrated GPU. Pretty lowend pc. But i ws able to run plant of lana on potato settings with 30 - 60 FPs plus neva on high settings. and GPU CPU consumption 70%. Also i aint gonna run it on windows will use steam and proton for compatibility.

So I thought windows was so fking bloated that I couldn't even do some basic shit like browsing on my pc. So i did what every normal person in their right mind would do and installed Kubuntu. Ik, ik should've gone w arch or cachy but i like debian based distros more idk why.
My laptop had 12 gigs of ram and windows was eating 50% of it just by sitting idle. Now when linux only eats max 900 meg when sitting idle. You see the diff. I thought I had so much hard drive space available so why not run some games. And downloaded some games. Dont judge me cuz I'm unemployed lol.
I tried to run the setup.exe using wine but it didn't worked then i installed steam downloaded proton added the exe as a not steam game and boom the installation start.
The thing as you all may have figured out that it couldn't run heavy games which i so much wish tht it could but it can some pretty decent titles mostly pixel art or indie games. The games i have tested on it are
•Eastward
•The Walking dead
•Until then (on low settings)
•Planet of lana (low settings)
And so on. Most games run on low settings but who ami i to complain. The post is to encourage people to install linux instead of windows because you'll learn so much more about computers js like i did and secondly you can save your old hardware and can have fun.
So I'm a writer and a film enthusiast. I've written some films but I don't have the technical know how to edit or shoot them. I've never shot a film. So if anyone is interested they can hmu so we can meet or discuss ideas of doing smth.
