Not enough people talk about Storm's knives

Maybe I'm just bad at finding this stuff, maybe it has had extensive discussion, I'm not sure.

But I feel like a lot could be done regarding Storm and her knives.

I mentioned it here once or twice, but I want Ororo in the MCU to be perfectly happy with cutting a bitch. Her skill with a blade was honed not just thanks to Yukio's Hand assassin training, but probably also started with Ororo's time as a pickpocket in Cairo. She's always been someone who could get in a scrap, and that aspect of her is almost always shafted in favor of her zapping people. Which I don't hate, don't get me wrong...I just feel like we don't get the human as much as we get the Goddess, and that is a little sad.

HWYB Leblanc, The Deceiver in DnD 5.5e

The Pale Sorceress, the Deceiver, and just about every other name you can think of, she goes by them all. Leblanc is a mystery wrapped within an enigma that even she can't even begin to unravel.

Leblanc was a sorceress under the BBEG of League Mordekaiser who betrayed him and rallied the proto-Noxian troops to kill and bind him. From there, she'd subtly control the kingdom to become the powerful expansionist empire it is today. Leblanc's powers are illusion taken to its most horrifying degree.

She commands them, and can create sentient illusions to do her bidding as her "sisters", who all think they are the original Leblanc. From there, they will bodysnatch whoever is needed to bodysnatch so as to perform their tasks, making her effectively everywhere and nowhere at once. You never know when she's watching, even when it's too late.

Her build is that of an assassin mage mechanically, who relies on juking and blowing you up when you least expect it before disappearing.

Her passive creates an illusory double of her to take the blow while she escapes.

Her main form of damage is a single target blast of magic.

She can conjure a chain to damage a foe and, if held long enough, bind them in place.

She can dash into an area to deal damage in that area and if she wants, go back to her original spot.

And she can mimic herself, repeating the last move she'd done.

Altogether, a powerful damage dealer and a dangerous schemer.

She's definitely made for higher level play, if not being a BBEG in her own right, but I wanna know how you'd build her. Thanks in advance!

HWYB Black Swan from Honkai Star Rail

So bear with me a bit, I don't care much for Honkai aside from this diva specifically.

But Black Swan is a Memokeeper, a person working for the Garden of Recollection whose purpose is to find, collect and preserve memories. She herself is a memetic being, functionally a living memory, to better do her job. In-world, her abilities are functionally that she can read minds and enter people's memories to collect. She also has a tarot reader motif to her and is described as a "soothsayer", so she has other extrasensory abilities to her.

As a playable character, Black Swan is of the path of Nihility, basically debuffs, and she's the debuff girl(at least when I paid attention to HSR she was). Her abilities boosted existing debuffs, created debuffs of their own, and made people hit harder with said debuffs active on the enemy. Altogether, she's amazing if you want to build a team around enfeebling(actual HSR players who see this feel free to correct me lol)

How do I go about building that? I'm assuming some kind of psychic class ofc but I wanna see what people have in mind.

Need help with a magic system centered around breath control

What it says on the tin

To cut a long story short, a divine dragon of wind saw a human overthrow a fascist elf empire and decided "hey, humans are cool, I'll help them", so he gave his name to the people. With it, people can use the wind they breathe in as a conduit, speaking spells into reality.

In practice, it's a very simple style of magic, you breathe in the magic you use to cast spells. It means that mages gotta train their lungs and breathing to store more power for spells and last longer in fights, but I feel like it's missing something.

To clarify, despite it being begat by a wind dragon, the magic isn't inherently wind based(though wind mages are notoriously more dangerous than most due to living by it naturally), you can use other elements, the wind part is just there because it works well with people's need to cast spells via speech.

So, am I missing something? What would you add, remove, or what other feedback do you have in mind?

HWYB Gala Zena from Dragalia Lost

Princess Zephia of Alberia was a gentle soul who, due to her unique nature, was made an Auspex(a spiritual leader and priestess figure) in the kingdom and church of Illia. This nature, however, would have made her a prime vessel for a dark figure known as Morsayati, who would possess her and make her into a baleful tyrant who'd rule over Alberia and reshape it to its whims.

As Dragalia Lost is host to multiverse theory being canonical, "Zena" is a Zephia who went through this exact thing in another universe/timeline and entered the current line to help her brother in saving this universe, seeing as her own was too far gone.

Originally, "Zena" was a shadow aligned character reliant on offensive damage, a blaster mage who used her raw magical power that was corrupted by Morsayati.

But, with the advent of Gala Dragalia, she'd get a new look and new kit. By reawakening her power as an Auspex and not just embracing, but fully merging the corruption of Morsayati within her, Zena gained a whole new source of power to her as a light attuned healer who hadn't lost her offensive power in the slightest(if anything, it grew).

The best way to describe her kit is healer with a nuke. Her basic attacks, rather than the normal wimpy healer attacks, are her blasting people like a mage with numerous(and very large) blast of light. Her primary skill has her unleashing mini meteors of light onto the battlefield, making her good at harming multiple foes, whilst her secondary skill is a teamwide heal and small attack buff in which she leaves a small heal pocket that allies can pick up for a second wind.

Using her primary skill lets Zena enter a special state where she can hold a special strong attack that, with the right build, can evaporate bosses on its own. Her healing is nowhere near the highest among Dragalia Lost's cast, but she is prized by the community for being a healer with an amazing damage uptime and even the potential to just burst enemies down on Break.

So, how would you go about building the Unwavering Auspex?

Cursed Technique: Crossroads Unbound

Cursed Technique: Crossroads Unbound

A unique Jujutsu technique connected to the ancient Cursed Spirit Hecate, it can rarely be found within certain sorcerers. This technique manifests as the user being able to perceive, enter and influence liminal spaces and boundaries between concepts. Light and dark, conscious and unconscious, living and dead, all are within purview of the sorcerer's touch, letting them perform feats most unusual even to the Jujutsu world. As with the Cursed Spirit, the sorcerer identified as holding this technique holds a unique talent with facing other Cursed Spirits, as well as combatting sorcerers whose techniques depend on a boundary such as those with the ability to invoke.

Curse Technique Lapse: Boundary Open/Close The sorcerer holding this technique uses the Crossroads Unbound technique to either close a boundary, closing off a point of entry to a spirit or other such technique, or fully opening it, permitting an allied Sorcerer to fully unleash such a technique with even greater potency at a lower cost. This is the primary use of the Crossroads Unbound Cursed Technique.

Curse Technique Lapse: Liminal Specter The sorcerer holding this technique can make themselves enter a liminal space, phasing themselves in and out of it, phasing others or even storing items within such a space. In contrast to the Ten Shadows holders of the Zenin Clan, these spaces are not constantly with the sorcerer and they must spot them himself to wield them. A sufficiently skilled sorcerer can use this aspect of their technique to effectively teleport.

Curse Technique Lapse: Dreamwalker The sorcerer holding this technique straddles the line between conscious and subconscious, letting them perceive the thoughts and memories of those around them. In a greater capacity, the sorcerer can disembody their soul to enter someone else's dreamscape and observe it, potentially even overpowering the victim and temporarily possessing their body.

Reverse Curse Technique: Boundary Breaker You may be asking: How can one reverse the effects of a cursed technique so heavily defined? Easy. By breaking said definition. In reversing this cursed technique, the user creates a chaotic zone where a number of boundaries are removed completely, leading to unpredictable results.

Domain Expansion: Liminal Reverie

The Domain takes place within a temple, where an effigy to the Cursed Spirit Hecate lies with burning torches. As long as Hecate's torchlight burns, the user can dictate what boundaries are open or closed within the Domain at will.

Hopefully I'm not causing any trouble posting it like this, this one was a concept I've been playing with for a while. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated!

What makes Flying different from Levitation?

What it says on the tin, I guess. Let's take Raven and Starfire from Teen Titans. Supposedly, Raven uses her telekinesis/soul self to float, whereas Starfire has flight innately. What makes these powers differ from one another exactly? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

HWYB Alys Rivers from ASOIAF/HOTD

A bastardborn wet nurse in House Strong, with a mysterious past. Is she the bastard daughter of Lyonel Strong? Was she old enough to have fed him and his sons from her breast? Who the hell knows?

Her abilities are odd, with many contradicting tales. She is supposedly a healer as well as a succubus who can bind men with poisons and potions. Her common depiction of having green eyes and her saying she's a barn owl stuck in human form imply she is a Greenseer(a skinchanger with more druidic abilities such as a connection to the Weirwood network), and altogether she seems to be in a unique position in Westeros. All of these things let her mess with the mind and body of those around her, either appearing as a hard to see as a ghost or as imposing as a dragon.

Much of what she has implies Druid, but I'm curious what you have in mind for the Witch Queen of Harrenhall. What would you build her as?

HWYB Mel Medarda from League of Legends

A Noxian noblewoman belonging to the powerful Medarda family, Mel is the product of an extramarital affair between her mother Ambessa and a Black Rose sun mage, leading to Mel inheriting this power but she is also dubbed an "Empath", being able to sense and enhance the emotions of others as well as wielding it as a weapon.

In battle, Mel channels light, shooting blasts of concentrated sunlight as well as turning it to barriers sturdy enough to withstand gunfire. As an Empath, she can also use her abilities to combat foes like Leblanc, who use mental manipulation and control to fight her wars. All in all, an exceptionally powerful figure in her own right, so how would one do her justice? Thanks in advance?

HWYB Methode from Frieren

Methode is a First Class Mage in Frieren who is exemplified by two aspects: Her tender, motherly exterior and the fact that she's lowkey super vicious in a fight and is a thrill seeker in that aspect.

In battle, Methode has been unofficially been coined "diet Frieren" due to her love of magic and how that translates to her ungodly versatility. We see her perform the basic shield and Zoltraak spells, but she's also someone with access to binding spells, more unique offensive magic such as her summoning a flurry of orbital blasts to carpet bomb people, dispel magic effects after spending a short while under them, and she's even uniquely capable of wielding Goddess magic, making her able to heal wounds in people.

By all accounts, she's as versatile as they come, so how would you do her justice? Thanks in advance?

Was it ever explained why Vibro and Light Katana never scaled off DEX?

On the tin, but like...Why have a dexterity requirement if you're only scaling off Strength? Not even a Finesse property? Who thought this made sense?

How would you go about in building a magical assassin without using Arcane Trickster?

Yes, that sounds silly, but I'm really into the concept of a mage who uses their magic to perform assassinations. Arcane Trickster is great, don't get me wrong, I adore this subclass, but it doesn't scratch the itch either.

I want something that's preferably or at least has a predominance of full casting, and I want it to have a strong vibe of using magic as a primary conduit to perform the assassinations. Bonus points if you get super creative with it.

HWYB Seid Kona from Twilight of the Gods

Seid Kona, or Aille, is a witch of the woods with the power to perceive prophecy through the guts of animals, a power bestowed upon her by the Goddess Freya. Alongside this, she has the power to wield said guts as foci to cast glamours, ensnare foes and even empower certain weapons such as bowstrings. She also happens to be an exceptionally fierce melee combatant with her twin blades being able to disembowel a dragon after an arrow pierced its stomach.

So, how would you make this character?

HWYB The Recluse from Elden Ring Nightreign

Recluse my Beloved

Gravity Well

The Recluse is one of my favorite playable Nightfarers in Nightreign, the resident witch and intellectual of the group with a dark past she keeps close to her.

Alongside the usual spellcasting, Recluse has the very unusual gameplay style of absorbing elemental essence to recoup FP and join those essences together to cast crazier spells such as the shown Gravity Well.

How would I go about building her? Extra points if you figure out ways to make the spells work like in the game. Thanks in advance!
