New to Orthodoxy, thankful for any help!

Hello all! I (23 y/o F) am a recent convert to orthodoxy, and I was wondering if there was a specific way to do vespers and other prayer at home. Is kneeling at the side of my bed okay, or do I need to have a dedicated space? Any tips help! (Even tips for attire / icons / books etc) 🫶🏻

Any female patron saints of wildlife or veterinary studies?

I’m getting confirmed and still haven’t been able to decide on a name. I looked at Our Lady of Coromoto but that doesn’t fit with my name at all 🫠

Mealybugs are destroying my herbs 😭

I’m a relatively new gardener and in college so I have a very tiny budget. The other day I found mealybugs absolutely devouring my chamomile and yarrow and I don’t know what to do. Google suggested to buy a specific spray but I can’t afford that. Is there anything I can make at home that will kill them and their eggs before they spread and kill my other herbs???

Is there a way to add my iPad as a secondary screen while my Mac is the main?

I’m a college student and my more serious courses are kicking off next week. My Mac, alone, is not going to be able to do what I need and I was hoping to find a way to hook the two screens up in sync. If anyone could help, that would be greatly appreciated!!

Just got my reversal but there’s pulling

Just got my reversal six days ago. Honestly, everything is going very well, but one of my keyhole incisions has this god awful pulling in the muscle at my front hip. I know it’s normal for stitches but what am I supposed to do? Do I just wait? Does it break? I’ve never felt it before. Just my surgeon telling me any pulling is stitches.

**NOT asking for medical advice - just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what they did or didn’t do to help**

[Government Island, VA] Plain bellied water snake or cottonmouth?

Found this dude on our hike. He was roughly 3’ long before he finished coiling up in the leaves. We were right next to a riverbank.

Can my husband view my Amex balance / pay it? (I’m an AU)

I’m new to AMEX and working on learning more about it. Can I use the AMEX for gifts or can he see the balance fluctuating? Additionally, is he able to cover my payments when I’m without service? My job requires up to two months in the mountains / wilderness and there’s very rarely service to work with.

Edit: I feel the need to say I was hoping to get him a Swarovski scope for his birthday but didn’t want him to see a $3-4,000 charge and spoil the surprise 💀

Just used Tremfya that was barely over the 4-hour threshold, should be fine?

I totally forgot that my Tremfya was “thawing” on my bed while I was meal prepping and it was out for roughly 6 hours. I feel like it isn’t that serious but everything online is saying it immediately goes bad. Like it becomes less potent or I’m going to die from blood poisoning? What kind of bad are we talking here 😭

Update: 12 hours later and I’m still standing 💅🏼

Hello! Wasn’t sure what flair to put so I apologize if it’s wrong. I’ve recently been diagnosed with some health problems and I need to start being more disciplined with my workouts and health tracking. I’ve looked at the Garmin Forerunner series since it’s been the most recommended one (the 965 / 970 because I run often) but they are so expensive. I’m in college so there’s no way I can afford them new. What sites do you guys recommend for refurbished or used ones for sub-$200? If that’s even possible.. 😅😅

I don’t particularly mind if it’s old or new, I’ve only ever owned the FitBit Versa 3 so I’m very new to the nicer watch scene. Those are just what my cardiologist recommended amongst a few others. I have a heavy preference for Garmin though!

I’ve heard good things about the vivoactiv series too. I’m still comparing watches so I’m open minded!

I am a 23 year old female with Crohn’s Disease and recently found out I was infertile. My infertility was caused by microplastics within my Endocrine system after 4 years of trying to figure out what the issue was. My entire healthcare team is phenomenal and they’ve recommended my husband and I work on being more self-sufficient so we aren’t relying on processed, store bought things.

My Crohn’s reacts heavily to processed foods and drinks which triggers other issues in my body. I would love recommendations for natural dietary books (cookbooks, foraging, etc) and books for womens’ health. Anything is greatly appreciated!
