Putrescent Knight RL1 SB0 Hitless - Phase 2 Skipped

Why can you one cycle this guy so easily at RL1 SB0...? I wasn't even hyper mode or using a strike weapon. He didn't phase transition and kept doing melee attacks for some reason.

Anyway, top 4, potentially top 3 boss in the DLC. Just fun, fair and inoffensive. Not much to complain about besides maybe stalling or hurtbox. Maybe some hitboxes are bigger or linger longer than they appear visually but I can't be too sure about the second part. Really easy to stance break if you bring fan daggers, he actually gives some enormous openings.

A+, maybe S- tier.

Rellana RL1 SB0 Hitless - Have some hot takes on this fight

Originally posted a 6 second clip but eh why not just upload the whole fight. I don't know what's going on with the phase transition, sometimes she does the sword beams instead of the fire at point blank range and sometimes she cancels the transition into an attack. So I just ended up running away but man WHAT are those hitboxes the 4th one looked like it went through the character model 😭 Windy Crystal Tear clutched up at 1:56 I think too.

I tried it without parrying but no I just didn't find it much fun at all. A word to sum it up would probably be obnoxious. I like it when her combos end in a reasonable time with bigger punishes so parrying makes the fight a lot more palatable for me. I can't tell if some of her mixups are just completely random or based on positioning, the main one was double uppercut into either cross slash or the spin (which I had to space because I could not react to it)

A lot of the fun factor feels more unintentional compared to say Messmer or Bayle I guess, like the developers made her hitboxes tiny and had her combos go on for 10 seconds and expected skilled players to figure out interesting strafes and jumps to make it more reasonable. Or they expected you to parry.

Also that awkward pause at the start when I was trying to get her to stop idling. I really don't like the flow of this fight personally, but that's a subjective criteria. The reliance on reaction checks too. Let's not even talk about doing this on medium roll if you don't know the no roll strats. Objectively a really good boss that I subjectively do not enjoy all that much, even after beating her RL1 hitless twice. I'll give her A tier because I can't call it unfair and at least it's fun when you parry and others have fun without parrying.

Side tangent: Frame rate is atrocious, it's worse than it looks. Loading time was a minute or longer. That was probably a contributing factor to my annoyance and why I decided to go hyper mode. If I ever buy a PS5, maybe I'll change my mind on her.

I feel like I post way more than the others here despite probably not playing as much. I wonder if I should be more selective with what I share haha, some of it is slop for sure. SB0 has been surprisingly easy but it's also because I've been fighting the more readable bosses... when I get to Dancing Lion and Sunflower? Oh boy.

Midra RL1 SB0 Hitless - Best DLC boss?

Readable, mostly intuitive, great flow. Fantastic OST. Very fun. What's not to love? If he's too easy, you could always lower your damage output or vigor.

Worst part is easily "mini midra." That little shit actually one shots you with a puny slap at this level.

Jori, Elder Inquisitor RL1 SB0

If I could remove any encounter from the game, it would be Leda. But this is a close second!

It is impressive how they made a boss so aggressively unfun. At least Leda can maybe be fun if you gank her at RL120 or something. But no. I've never once enjoyed this boss. Worst part is she gatekeeps Midra.

Not hitless because got blocked by gravestones. Haha!!!

Piece of shit gets what she fucking deserves.

BAYLE THE DREAD RL1 SB0 Hitless - Raptor of the Mist my beloved 🥰 🥰 🥰

Surprisingly quick to get a win for what I would consider the 3rd hardest boss in the game. If anyone is struggling with this guy, I cannot recommend Raptor of the Mist enough. Makes it much easier to time and punish a lot of his attacks.

I think you can avoid the random lightning by unlocking actually, there seems to be a telegraph before they appear. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I would rank him around the top 10 area. He would be the 2nd best boss in the game if the straight fire breath wasn't so janky.

(ANYTHING but more BL4 Orphan of Kos 😭😭😭)

Something up with Bayle fire breath tracking???

I dodge the first flame breath by jumping and spam rolling left. He does it again. How was I meant to know going to the left wouldn't have worked there? I spam rolled, but I don't think any method going left would have worked there either given where the fire is visually.

So far I found spam rolling left with crucible feather to be the most effective (without jumping), more than jumping then sprinting. Not foolproof though, evidently.

This really is one of the moves of all time.

what even IS Orphan of Kos phase 2 😭😭😭

Hitless phase 1. Not using buffs or parry loop.

Help... what do I even do?

EDIT: Pain and suffering. This guy is actually harder than Malenia at base level without buffs or cheese.

Messmer is nothing without that spinning attack (Messmer RL1 SB0 Hitless)

When I'm in a carried by one attack competition and my opponents are Malenia and Messmer. That leaping fire spinning attack is brutal... Gotta decide if it's long range or mid range on the fly to determine when and in which direction to roll. Died to that attack more than all the others combined in phase 2 since he often uses that at long range. Genuinely found it easier to just go for hitless and slap on crucible feather, that's how much harder that move is than his entire moveset. Frame trap 1-2 was a bit tough, but just gotta roll backwards and it's chill.

Anyway, potentially a top 3 boss. Funky hitboxes though, I can't lie. Oh yeah I also found him easier on mid roll, light roll would send me too far for punishes.

I did SB0 Messmer to take a break from Orphan of Kos tbh, that boss is extremely exhausting. Would welcome any tips, especially phase 2.

(Surely if I upload a hitless kill I won't get someone saying I hacked my defenses) 😭

no WAY bro is still going 😭

I'm on a 8-9 year old potato PS4, I don't even know how to use a save editor. What is bro on about 😭

Imagine being this confidently incorrect, it's actually astounding that someone would put this much time into discrediting a stranger on the internet.

The kill is here btw if you guys wanna take a look lmfao https://www.reddit.com/r/onebros/comments/1uj2udf/laurence_bl4_finally_some_peak_after_cringe_ass/ (don't get ragebaited by the title pls)

I'm actually surprised I didn't die to the hit at 2:05, idk what happened there tbh. Assuming I got lucky.

Does anyone else miss Smash 4 Cloud's Nair?

There are a few things about ultimate cloud that make him more fun than the previous iteration such as fair being a real option in neutral and up b out of shield but I'm still salty about that nair.

Smash 4 cloud having the best bair, up air, dair, and nair in the game was too much for sure, but I think nair was a bit overcorrected. It's not even a bad move, I just think it kind of looks stupid the way he holds the sword so close to himself. I miss falling up air too tbh.

I don't play competitively though, just an online ult cloud main back in the day. Maybe it's the brain rot talking.

Y'all some people are unbelievable 😭

A comment on the Laurence kill I posted on bloodborne subreddit lol. Idk why r/onebros is so chill tbh, you'd expect talking to the sweatiest players to be like talking to aliens but no the people here are mostly normal. Every other fromsoft fanbase tends to annoy me at least a little bit with the insane glazing or whatever else.

Not taking this too seriously btw. Just a misunderstanding but yeah I found this comment pretty funny lmao.

The worst thing about this game that no one talks about

The fact that hair clips through armor. I love the Knight's Set, it's peak drip, but then my character's long ass hair somehow pokes through the collar. Can't even change hairstyles either.

Tried the Cainhurst helmet. Turns out even the wig clips through. Surely Golden Ardeo is not the answer...

Ebrietas BL4 - pretty obnoxious boss

I expected this to be much tougher, but she went down pretty quickly. Stocked up on bone marrow ash just for this fight.

Charge was a problem, I saw Arti's guide which said you could avoid it by sprinting to the side but I couldn't get that down. I found rolling twice to the side was okay most of the time.

There's a general lack of melee punish windows that was really annoying. Also the chip damage aura discourages melee combat even more.

Not the worst boss in the game, but I probably wouldn't call her a good boss either.

Amygdala Hitless BL4

Surprisingly decent boss? A bit like Midir, you just kind of stay in front of it and wait for it to put its head and arms down.

I'm curious if anyone here has beaten hitless phase 3 at low damage without the jump AI looping, the hitboxes seem to be massive.

Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower (BL4, no buffs)

Phase 1 is quite easy. Phase 2 is moderately difficult. Phase 3 is absurdly difficult. Not sure on how to feel about this fight, I know casuals love her and maybe so do some of the absolute best challenge runners.

I'm neither so to me phase 3 felt a bit stupid and unfun. The hitboxes are absurd, I think even people who like this fight can agree. I messed up a ton of backstab punishes in phase 3 but won because of good RNG in what attacks she used.

Also some of the most obnoxiously implemented delayed attacks in the series. Most of my deaths were probably to learning the timings.

Anyway yeah, probably 2nd worst boss in the DLC imo. Laurence was so much more fun and a needed palate cleanser.

I've beaten Laurence at BL4! Seriously a fantastic boss

I genuinely believe Laurence is peak and at minimum a top 4 boss in this game. The flaming deer is the most overhated boss in the series. I loved him from my first DLC playthrough, and love him even more after BL4. He is really fun to position around while still being really fair. His hitboxes are good (yes, you read that correctly!). They match the animations quite closely and allow for interesting strafes. His crawling phase is one of the best designed fights they've made imo.

Also features one of the most beautiful pieces of music in the FromSoft catalogue. I'm slightly disappointed he died before it got to the end, even when I didn't use any buffs. He was easier than I expected tbh, Maria was significantly harder at BL4. I might post that fight too if you guys want me to, so let me know.

Is Aegis recovery even that bad?

I'm kind of a noob, most involved I've been in competitive is watching tournaments sometimes.

Why is this talked about like it's a really big downside? Mythra has side b and up b, and Pyra's up b at least snaps to ledge. Mythra has high air speed and you can mix things up by swapping between the characters. I'm pretty bad at the game but side b seems confusing to track visually compared to something like fire fox.

I feel like characters such as Cloud, Fox, Min Min and Luigi have worse recoveries but people don't talk about them like it's as big as a flaw as it is for Aegis.

Does anyone else think Elden Ring has the best boss roster in soulsborne? (Excluding Sekiro)

Trying base level in other games has made me realize how high quality the average remembrance is in ER. I ranked Godrick in D tier 2 months ago, but as janky as he may be, I'd still rather fight him than half the bosses in DS3 or most of the bosses in Bloodborne. Perspective is something else.

This is coming from someone who hated almost every remembrance in their first playthrough. I'm in the middle of my second RL1 run and at this point there are only 4 bosses I'd call bad. And if Fire Giant's fire breath didn't bounce all over the place, there would only be 3. Even Fortissax, who I despised... if you dropped him into Bloodborne he'd probably be a top 10 boss.

People talk about delayed attacks, unreadable moves, input reading, long combos... but honestly? I think a lot of the previous titles had similar things, arguably implemented in a worse way (e.g. delayed attacks not being fluidly animated like in ER). You just don't notice it because ER's damage tuning is pretty insane, so the flaws in this game are more obvious.

Even the bad bosses at least aren't mostly annoying gimmicks or ganks. Rennala is the only remembrance boss I would say I have never had fun fighting.

The main criticisms I have are either fights revolving around one stupid move, or general jankiness. ER has some pretty bad jank admittedly, that unlike previous titles where it was mostly shitty hitboxes, genuinely affect the ability of players to no-hit bosses consistently at low damage. Yet apart from a debatable lack of polish, aren't most of the fights at minimum solid?

Just a realization I came to, maybe I'm being too generous. Let me know if you disagree.
