The beginning of THE PENTHOUSE

The beginning of THE PENTHOUSE

I posted a while back on here about my newly adopted chameleon, well I'm haply to say that not only is he doing great annnnnd he now has a mansion. I am well aware, it could use some more decor and plants, but this is the custom enclosure my dad lovingly made for Rango, our veiled chameleon! Lighting setup is subject to change once I get paid, but he has the essentials of UVB and a basking lamp. Alllll mesh (and hardwire cloth on some spots for extra support) with a sturdy wood frame. I currently have 3 live plants in there (a yucca, monstera, and money tree) but am open to more suggestions on both plant and decor! There was supposed to be another plant but alas my cat bit it to shreds so its currently recovering.

Choice based handling for the win!

Since fully adopting this girl from my friend, I've been doing my absolute best to do choice based handling in hopes of having her trust me like my girlfriend's leo does. That little gecko (Sunny) stands at the edge of her tank staring at my girlfriend until she takes her out, and then promptly nests herself in my girlfriends curly hair. I didn't think it'd happen so soon, but look who gave me a fully voluntary walk and sploot into my hand!! It does take a minute or two of me standing very still with my hand out, but we've come to an agreement that she gets to come out if shes standing at the opening of her tank!

Tips for a 12 week old positive diagnosis

And also success stories please. Im an emotional wreck, I know that a positive FeLV diagnosis isnt a death sentence but ive been bottle feeding this little guy since he was 5 weeks old. I will do anything and everything for him, which is why I'm here. Today at the vet we got the knowledge that 1 out of the 3 kittens I've foster failed is felv positive, the other two (his sisters) are currently testing negative and have been given their first round of vaccines for it, but I know they could still be incubating it. The boy, Trout, is only 12 weeks old, but he's both a runt and behind on growth due to what we now know is felv being flared up by conjunctivitis he has. We got treatment for both the conjunctivitis and also some lysine supplements for all of the cats regardless. But I'm looking for tips otherwise? And success stories

The newest baby girl of my zoo

Everyone meet Mars! I bought her at a reptile expo today after chatting with the breeder for like. 35 minutes lmao. Got the breeders contact info, and the geckos birthdate (8 months old), probable gender (likely girl), and medical history of the two crestie parents!!! Also the lady gave me a couple warnings of what booths to avoid at that expo which i was more than happy for!

Mars (Mars Bar or Marzipan as I've nicknames her) reminds me a lot of my two previous cresties, Brick and Icee. Brick went missing after my roommates cat slept on the tank lid and broke it, and Icee was sold to me under the guise that she was healthy when she was not. Both are sadly no longer with me, but Mars feels like a spiritual combination of both. The silliness and chaos of Brick and the friendly demeanor of Icee. I'll miss my two babies dearly, but they paved the way for who I am now as a reptile keeper! And yes, Mar is gonna be the most spoiled little princess ever

Looking for photos of setups!

After extensive research and about $100 in wood beams alone, my boy Rango is just about to be moved into his brand new, homemade, 4ft tall all mesh cage made by my dad. With multiple live plants for safety reasons (thank you to the people who warned me about fake plants with chams :) ) and while I know the basics of lots of vines, emulating the inside of a bush, unobstructed basking spot, lots of hiding places, etc... I'm wondering if people can post photos of some of their setups? And chameleons too, I love seeing the little guys. And of course when the tank is officially done (have to affix the door) I'll post a photo of it so y'all can rate it!

Nontypical juvenile veiled chameleon behavior?

Just to note, I have had experience with other insectivore reptiles, including non handling based species, as well as crested and gargoyle geckos00

I recently got a juvenile veiled chameleon and have noticed that he definitely doesn't act like what all the care sheets have been saying. When I first got him, he ran from the worker putting him into his travel box directly up my arm (when I panickingly reached out cause I thought he was going to fall) and hid behind my neck. It took the worker and my mother gently picking him off of me to put him in the travel container so we could go check out. When i got him home and went to put him in his tank, he actively turned around and climbed back up my arm to my head instead of going in the tank, and once again took another person helping me gently remove him from my hair onto the branches in his tank.

His tank setup is a 2'x2'x4' tank with lots of branches and foliage to hide in, it is glass because we have a really finicky climate control unit and I'd rather have more control with the glass than a mesh screen, but he does have good airflow with an expanded metal screen for the lid. When I finally did get him to go into his tank he darkened (more than relaxation color) drastically, I figured that he wanted to be alone so I left him be. When I came back into the room about 50 minutes later he was still fairly dark, only a couple shades lighter, so I got concerned and went to check on him, the second I lifted the lid he brightened and ran up the branch and grabbed my finger with his little adorable hands.

It seems like he wants to be on me more than in his tank, which from what I've read is. Not typical behavior? Im no expert in chameleons, I admit that, but in my experience hes acting much more crested gecko than what I've read of normal veiled chameleons.

Maybe I managed to get the elusive friendly one lmao, but seriously if anyone has an idea on why hes doing all of THAT please lemme know

Edited: forgot to say that the color that he had turned to while grabbing my hand is his relaxation color, he did acclimate to his tank after a little while longer and remained a very soft green that blended in with the leaves, photos included for reference. One photo is from his temp tank as I finished setting up his current (final touches) but he has fully moved into the 2'x2'x4' tan. Yes, he was clinging to me enough that I just gave him my glasses (what he had settled onto) in his tank for a while.

Looking for players for multiple campaigns! (Online) [SavageWorlds] & [PF1e] among others

Not included in this major description is two smaller campaigns intended to be breaks from the main campaign, and another longterm campaign that has yet to be given a start date.

My party and I have decided that we have an open slot for our various campaigns, you would not need to join into campaigns very soon but we would love it if you dropped in on session to get chill with the party.

Various main campaigns with slots open

M.E.C.H -  Setting: Savage worlds. Genre: psychological horror, sci fi, body horror (shorter campaign)

Takes place on an alien world where the team has crash landed in their spacecraft and have to use mech suits to traverse the land, but weird things start happening to the electronic pieces and messages start popping up on their huds leading them to some sort of ancient temple in the world

ARK -  Setting: pathfinder 1st. Genre: psychological/body horror, sci fi/cyberpunk (Will be taking place after MECH)

Loosely inspired by SCP but became its own thing overtime, players are on the run from an authoritarian government after being mutated into anomalies. Goals are dependant on the players but involve themings of: dismantling the government, accepting ones self, survival, and returning to being human.

brief descriptions of additional planned campaigns include:

Misadventures in Playtown (MIP) - [DND] Toy story/it takes 2 themed campaign (comedy and existential horror, but make it fluffy)

O.I.L (Ocupational Interest = Live) (CoC) - warforged only living on a post apocolyptic earth searching for oil to live (horror, survival, post apoc, dark)

My teacher's an Owlbear!! (Owlbear) - [Kids on Bikes] university students realizing their homeroom teacher is infact, an entire owlbear (comedy, slice of life, mystery, coming of age)

Help with a PVC tank heating option

I recently got a Moorish gecko at the reptile expo in my area recently, picked up a PVC tank (specifically a premade I heart geckos brand pvc tank) of proper size and realized that I need to figure out adequate heating in said tank for when it gets colder out. I'm not too worried about it currently but I know that it does need to be addressed, what kind of heating options have people used in the past for these tanks?

Missing gecko help!!!

I am in desperate need of tips for finding a missing crested gecko. His tank lid broke last night and he's nowhere to be found in the room his tank is in. We sequestered the cats away from the room and tried our best to seal off all exits but we only found out about his disappearance this morning. I really dont want to lose him and I want him back, does anyone have any tips?
