A smooth glide to a BBS

Razor: 1963 Gillette Slim I4

Blade: Gillette Perma-Sharp (2)

Soap: Nomad Theory Paris

Brush: Yaqi Timberwolf 26mm

Post shave: Speick splash

This was the easiest and smoothest BBS I've ever gotten. This soap is very similar to Barrister and Mann in the sense that it can take loads of water without the lather going all airy. I think I dipped the brush in water like 7 or 8 times for painting strokes across the lather to hydrate it, and it was still thick. No wonder why I love this soap.

Slim was on 6 throughout the whole shave, and I think that's the best setting of all. More efficient than 5 and easier to get the angle but without losing any of the smoothness.

Truly a fantastic shave.

First test drive with the '63 Slim!

Razor: Gillette Slim '63

Blade: Gillette Perma-Sharp (1)

Soap: MdC Fougere

Brush: Omega 48

Post shave: Brut

I just had to test this beautiful razor for the first time tonight after work. I was working with 2.5 days of growth, so not that much but I still decided to start on a 7. Safe to say, it mowed down everything with absolute ease, and the audible feedback this razor on 7 gives is very relaxing. I felt it was a bit too much and unnecessary to go with 7, so I stepped down to a 5 on the next pass which felt great, honestly. Perfect balance of buttery smoothness and decent efficiency. I did notice that the angle is kind of tough to get on lower settings compared to 7, but nothing that can't be achieved with practice.

For my ATG pass, I decided to alternate between 3 and 4 which was just a tiny bit too mild for me, so I went back to 5 and did a great ATG pass for a 3 pass BBS.

I am VERY happy with the razor, and this will definitely be one of MANY shaves with it. 🙂

First adjustable Vintage

Got my first adjustable Vintage razor. A Slim with the I4 date code from 1963, in perfect condition. Everything working perfectly, plating untouched. It's a BEAUTY.

I had used a Slim twist before only, and it was very smooth but kind of lacked the efficiency I desired. So naturally, the adjustable Slim was the next logical step.

Can't wait to try it!

The more I listen to KIMB...

The more it is becoming my favorite Megadeth album. You know how SFSGSW has that MOJO that none of the other albums have? KIMB has that same mojo, but amplified 10 times. Dave not trying to be a good singer, just a badass mofo. Also his riffs and super melodic solos on the album are absolutely incredible to listen to. I personally enjoy this more than the other albums, it has that special mojo to it.

Deth surely awaits you!

I LOVE growing shrooms in the sewer, BUT...

Please, for the love of everything that is holy, fix the issue with the spawn pieces jumping out of the mushroom bed and/or disappearing when breaking it.

There was a fix added but it is still happening. Growing them manually in the shrooms and drying them while your empire is growing on the side feels like a hobby you love, it's so fun to do it, way more than weed and meth.

Or an alternative would be to just somehow make the part of breaking the spawn pieces automatic, or a different type of minigame. Anything to make it seamless like growing weed.

That's all, thanks for reading! I hope Tyler addresses this pesky bug that's been happening since the shrooms were added many months ago.

Wood & Spice shave

Pre shave: Proraso white

Razor: Gillette Old Type

Blade: Perma-Sharp (1)

Lather: Antigua Barbearia de Bairro Ribeira Porto

Brush: Omega 49

Post shave: Proraso Wood & Spice balm

This was definitely one of the smoothest and most enjoyable 3 pass shave I've ever had. Old Type is just incredible at how smooth it is once dialed in. Even ATG, it was no problem at all. Zero irritation, perfect BBS.

Beogradski Sindikat

Šta mislite i znate o njima?

Mail call - new razors

Mail call - Parker SRRW and a clone of the Feather AC Kamisori style razor with 10 of their blades. Really excited to try it, as I've been enjoying SR shaving way more than DE, and the Feather DX/SS has been on my radar for a while.

Feelin' classy on a Friday mornin'

Razor: G37 Slant

Blade: Perma Sharp (1)

Soap: SV 80th Anniversary

Brush: Yaqi Timberwolf 26mm

Post shave: SV 80th Anniversary

I got the picture perfect lather, so I initially tried using the SuperSlant L3++OC. It pales in comparison to the German 37. A more intuitive cutting angle, way smoother and just a better experience overall.

There's a very good reason why the 37C has been a staple slant throughout all these years. Very balanced razor in all areas.

14.7 SOTD

Razor: Monza Shavette

Blade: Gillette Nacet

Soap: Nomad Theory Paris

Brush: Yaqi Timberwolf 26mm

Post shave: Speick

Due to face curves, XTG on the cheeks & jawline, and ATG on the neck are very intuitive, fun and relatively easy to do with a shavette. ATG on the jawline and mustache is a bitch.

Nice shave regardless.

Lather...Spice...And everything nice...

Razor: Generic Shavette

Blade: Gillette Nacet

Soap: Barrister and Mann Spice

Brush: Yaqi Timberwolf 26mm

Post shave: OldSpice

Apart from weepers on the mustache area where I was brave enough to try ATG, I got a perfect shave. Shavettes are so much more fun to use than DE's. More intuitive, in my opinion, and they help me develop my non-dominant hand. I want to practice with it some more because I want to transition over to Feather AC razors.

[SOTD] A very underrated technique, and a perfect shave

Razor: German 37 Slant

Blade: Perma-Sharp (2)

Soap: MdC Fougere

Brush: Omega 49

Post shave: Brut

The skin stretching technique is so underrated and important, even in DE shaving. Because of it, you not only prevent cuts because you flatten the surface which the razor glides on, but you also get a closer and more comfortable shave. So close and comfortable, in fact, that I didn't even have to do any touch ups. The after shave was also a very pleasant finish with absolutely no stinging sensation.

A perfect 10/10 shave.

A perfect shave... 2 minutes to midnight

Razor: German 37 Slant

Blade: Perma-Sharp (1)

Lather: Speick

Brush: Omega 49

Post shave: Speick

I haven't gotten this nice of a shave in a while, that's why I haven't been sharing SOTDs lately, but Speick is just incredible. Retains thickness and cushion while being on the verge of dripping from my face. No other soap can do that. And the AS feels amazing, one of the best I've ever tried as far as skin care goes.

Buy yourself a Speick cream if you haven't and try it.

First shave with the Superslant L3++ OC - Review

Razor: Superslant L3++OC

Blade: Perma Sharp

Soap: Tabac

Brush: Omega 49

Post shave: Tabac splash & EdC

First shave with the Superslant L3++OC that arrived yesterday.

First thing I've noticed is the crazy amount of torque the razor has. The blade is clamped to perfection, there are no alignment issues and no tabs sticking out from the sides. Loading and taking the blade out requires attention to not accidentally touch the edge and cut yourself and/or impact the sharpness.

I have also noticed a pretty big dragging sensation on the skin when making passes with the razor. I am not sure if it's because of the finish, or because the top cap is torqued this much, but it definitely feels unnatural. Can cause you to add excess pressure which will lead to cuts 100%. This bad boy slices through everything with absolute ease, and it will make an example out of you if you do not give it proper respect.

As for the shave, it took down every single hair on my face where I properly went ATG. I say properly because I was hesitant on some spots, this thing actually scares me to go against the grain, more than a shavette even. For being OC and this efficient, it is rather smooth. One thing to note about using this razor is that you must have a super slick lather on your face, it needs that slick surface to glide on, or you will not have a good time. Got a good weeper on my right cheek and a shitload of irritation on the lower left side of my neck.

Overall, I like it, but the dragging sensation on the skin really kills any chance of it overtaking my favorite razor, the German 37 Slant, which is also from Razorock.

The smoothest BBS ever

Razor: German 37 Slant

Blade: Perma-Sharp Super (1)

Soap: MdC Fougere

Brush: Omega 49

Post shave: Brut

The smoothest and most enjoyable BBS I've ever gotten so far. MdC performs great as usual, but the blade here really made all the difference. I was buffing ATG on the same trouble spots like 7-8 times because the blade was just so unbelievably smooth, and I wanted to limit test it. I felt no irritation or stinging anywhere after the shave or after applying Brut.

A blade from the shaving gods themselves.

06/21 SOTD

Razor: G37 Slant

Blade: Gillette Nacet

Soap: Nomad Theory Paris

Brush: Semogue 830

Post shave: Speick

Hopefully the last shave before my new razor arrives.

In my opinion, Semogue is so inferior to Omega when it comes to boar brushes, and it isn't even close.

Having used a few different fresh blades this past 2 weeks ( Gillette Plats, Perma-Sharp Super, WSI, Voskhod, Feather, GSB ), I can comfortably say that Nacet tops everything except Perma Sharps. Two of the absolute best blades for me.

u/Wutroslaw — 2 months ago

MAN, it doesn't get better than this.

Razor: G37 Slant

Blade: Perma-Sharp (5)

Cream: Antiga Barbearia de Bairro Ribeira Porto

Brush: Omega 48

Post shave: Proraso Wood & Spice Balm

MAN, it just doesn't get better than this. A setup very similar to one of my previous SOTD posts, but I think the Proraso and the cream match very well. Antiga Barbearia has some of the nicest scents I've ever tried. Although I have tried only "Ribeira Porto" and "Chiado" so far, both are amazing.

Perma-Sharp is definitely the smoothest blade I have ever used. On the 5th use, it's smoother than ever, and it doesn't look like it's going to drastically degrade any time soon. It also gave me a 2 nicks today, which tells me that it's actually sharper than Nacet, as I can't remember the last time I nicked myself with a Nacet blade. I'm very happy that I ordered a 100 of Perma-Sharp.

Proraso balm has definitely become my favorite post shave product. It is not too sticky, the scent is VERY NICE, it lingers for a good amount of time and keeps the skin silky smooth.
