On behalf of my previous post.

Just wanted to follow up on my previous post and apologize if I came across as repetitive or frustrating to deal with. For those who don't know, a week ago I woke up feeling groggy next to my dresser, knowing that my hand/arm had been touching it, but I wasn't sure whether my head had made contact with it while I was asleep, and later that day I started feeling weird with a scratchy throat, runny/stuffy nose, some headaches, nausea, fatigue, and vomiting, which made everything harder for me to separate because some of those symptoms also appear on concussion symptom lists. As the days went on I started feeling better, and by a week later I was feeling pretty good, but I kept going back and forth over what might have happened that morning.

A big reason I got stuck on it was because years ago, when I went through something similar, I watched a lot of YouTube videos about people's concussion experiences and read Reddit and Quora comments saying things like “you'll never be the same,” “long-term memory loss can happen no matter how severe the concussion is,” “your IQ could drop,” “even the smallest hits can cause a concussion,” “a mild concussion can be just as devastating as a severe one,” “some minor concussions can have effects lasting for years,” and “anything is possible,” along with personal stories about people losing short- or long-term memories and people saying they didn't trust doctors or medical studies. Those statements stuck with me, so whenever I started moving on, I'd remember one of them and end up questioning everything again, asking another version of the same question, and going around in circles.

I realize now how exhausting that probably became for the people who were trying to answer me, and I genuinely apologize if I irritated anyone or made it seem like I wasn't listening to what you were telling me. That wasn't my intention. Not at ALL.

Am I wrong for obsessing over this?

I want to mainly talk about how I handled an uncertainty and how easily I got stuck on it. For those who don't know, I made another post on here about what happened On August 9, where I woke up next to my dresser. I know my arm/hand made contact with it, but I don't actually know whether my head touched it. Later that day, I started feeling sick with a scratchy throat, runny/stuffy nose, and some headaches, nausea, fatigue, and vomiting. Because some of those symptoms can overlap with concussion symptoms, I started questioning whether they were from being sick or whether something had happened when I woke up.

What made everything much worse was what I had already seen online. I had watched concussion stories on YouTube and read Reddit and Quora comments saying things like, “you'll never be the same,” “long-term memory loss can happen no matter how severe the concussion is,” “your IQ could drop,” "My father got long term memory from serving in the Army," "anything is possible," "it can happen," “even the smallest hits can cause a concussion,” “a mild concussion can be just as devastating as a severe one,” and that some people experience problems for years. I also saw personal stories about people losing short- or long-term memories, people claiming doctors had misdiagnosed them, and even people saying they didn't trust medical research, or doctors at all because they have Autism and ADHD, thus believe they won't be taken any seriously. Instead of helping me understand the subject, reading all of that made me focus heavily on rare and frightening possibilities. I apologize if I had been repetitive, as that is NOT my main intention.

I am extremely worried about this. I need help ASAP. (URGENT)

I was laying on this black futon bed while I was waking up. My left hand and arm bumped the black dresser shown behind me. Even though my head was nearby, I got up and though nothing of it. Now 3 days later, my mind is conving me that I sustained a concussion and how I did a bad thing by NOT taking pictures of my bed, pillow and dresser earlier in their original positions! Mind you this also happened the night before okay August 8 and I was STILL fixated on that by the time I woke up on August 9, I thought nothing of the recent situation. The part I’m still worried about is that when I woke up. Yes, I know my arm touched the dresser, but I don’t know whether my head touched it too because my pillow and the back of my head were close to the dresser. I was still groggy, so I don’t remember those first few moments clearly. I also didn’t take a picture until about three hours later because I wasn’t worried about it at the time. They same thing happened to me the night before on August 8, and my mind was still fixated on that. Is this something that I should be concerned about? Should I have been monitoring for ANY symptoms and should I STILL be monitoring for any symptoms?

My feed recently.

I've been on Instagram, TikTok, Threads, even Reddit and every 5-6 posts involve someone bashing and invalidating folks under 25/30. They state how we "don't know anything" and how we look like "babies" to them. They claim they don't want to share the same spaces as us or how they hate to listen to our takes because our "frontal lobes aren’t developed". People would claim that they will block or feel disgusted with anyone under 25 trying to talk to them because of that frontal lobe stuff. I see these statements and posts everyday. I feel like it's worse for Gen Z than the older generations.

What's with the hate against those under 25?

I just saw a TikTok video about this one person saying that anyone under 25 doesn't have the intelligence to make good hot takes and the comments were saying, "I agree, and honestly I can't stand to hear their opinions", "Nothing but a bunch of underdeveloped cortexes yapping", "anyone under 25 shouldn’t be allowed to post, just view", "they are just hardheaded", "those under 25 THINK they know everything", "Working with early 20s people is like working with toddlers", "They should pipe down because their frontal lobes aren’t developed and they don't know what they're talking about" and many more.

What I came across on TikTok

I was on TikTok and I happened to come across one video where it was somebody saying how "it's ironic that people preach about mental health, but automatically assume autistic men are creepy." The video was pretty good, but sadly some of the comments weren't. They said things like "autistic men use the patriarchy to their advantage", "men should advocate for themselves, don't waste your energy.", "Good for those people for doing that!", "before being autistic, those are men .", "Autistic men are menaces and deserve nothing.", "idc autistic men will still be men.", "I stopped trusting autistic men because they use their disability as an excuse.", "autistic men are more likely to be incels than allistic men.", and basically saying that autistic men use their autism as an excuse a lot and how they get away more and are coddled. It's just..Wow.

I believe that some people who are 25+ hates those under 25 than they other way around.

Many people say how we are ageist towards Millennials, but all I ever see on social media is us being seen as "Little kids", "babies" and how we "don't know anything" and how our "frontal lobes are developed yet" so we "can't be taken seriously". I actually see a lot of anti-Gen Z posts on basically every Social media app.

Being 24.

I honestly feel like being 24 or 18-24 as a whole can suck sometimes for many reasons, but the main reason why I believe this is because most people that's older than you rarely if ever take you seriously. To them, you're just a "baby" who "doesn't know anything" and how most people older than you don't want to be around you because of that. How do you feel about this?

One of the reasons why some Millennials gatekeep Gen Z.

I believe that one of the reasons why some Millennials may gatekeep Gen Z is because of the fact that most of us are under 25/30, which to them we're just "kids" are "babies" and how we "don't know anything" and therefore they deny that some of us grew up the same as them and invalidate our experiences.

The state of the generationology subreddit.

85% of the posts and comments basically thrash or gatekeep those under 25 (sometimes 25-29 year olds), 15% are actually about generation facts. I had to mute it because it feels like they all hate Gen Z.

I usually keep to myself and only speak in public when it’s necessary. There have been a lot of times where I tried to talk to people, but they shut me down or made it clear they weren’t interested, and that sticks with you. I understand that no one is obligated to be nice or engage with me, and because of that, I don’t go out of my way to be talkative anymore. Instead, I speak when I’m spoken to, when I need help, or when it’s something I’m genuinely interested in.
