Indie perfume discovery app

Indie perfume discovery app

Hi all,

I created an indie perfume discovery app at [https://nosedesk.com/accord] - here's a demo.

Indie perfumers: let me know if you'd like your perfumes featured on the app. The goal is for folks to discover amazing creations, get inspired by them, and try making something of their own, all in one platform!

I am making a perfume discovery game (mainly featuring indie perfumers)

Hello!

I remember when I first started my perfume collection, I was obsessed with Fragrantica. I used to explore various notes and see which perfumes came up. I would eventually end up buying the ones I found interesting. This inspired me to create a game-like interface where I catalog perfumes that disclose their perfume pyramid (think Zoologist) and ask perfumers to submit theirs. One can browse notes and place them in the pyramid, and matching perfumes would show up.

What do you all think? Would you be interested in getting featured? It'll be hosted on nosedesk.com

I created a free app for intelligent ingredient search and formula management (nosedesk.com)

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to share a passion project of mine: **nosedesk.com**.

It’s the product of two itches I’ve been wanting to scratch. First, I wanted to learn some new programming languages, and second, I wanted to make something truly useful out of my own journey into perfumery.

By trade, I am a chemical engineer and a perfume collector, and I really wanted to put that background to work. Late last year, I began chasing a specific idea: creating a certain scent from a distant childhood memory. Having always loved petrichor, I had already studied its extraction process in the past.

To actually build the fragrance, I started searching Google, this subreddit, and various forums. I found a lot of great information, but finding and sourcing the right ingredients to start with was a massive challenge. As you all know, raw materials are scattered across a dozen different suppliers. There just wasn't a single platform or app available where you could search for ingredients, build a formula, iterate on it, and learn all in one place.

That’s exactly why I created Nosedesk.

The app is completely **free to use**. It's currently **best viewed on a laptop or desktop** to get the full experience of the workbench UI.

I’d love for you to try it out and let me know what you think. If you find it helpful and want to support the project, please consider clicking the "Buy Me a Coffee" link on the site!

Mandi in Monsoon

I made this with the help of LLMs, personal reading and this sub Reddit (thank you) Smells like what I was going for - earthy damp flowers vegetables woody musk. Tagetes is noticeable in the opening which I really liked. The performance is not that great and it may be too muted. It does remind me of the vegetable market - the mandi - on a rainy day.
