I want to make videos to spread awareness to this issues. I had no idea about paws until it happened to me. I def want to talk about proper tapering. And honestly let others know other ways to deal with anxiety and depression other than a pill that will harm them. Any recommendations to add to the video?

I need some answers from yall! Please and thank you :)

This started back in April. So I was on lexapro for 6+ years and I had a nurse practitioner have me taper to buspirone (switch within 4 weeks) I didn’t even make it 2 weeks before symptoms arose. Tinnitus I believe that was from the buspirone. I immediately stopped it within 2 days hoping the tinnitus would dissipate. It hasn’t :/. Foolishly 2 days I then got off lexapro too thinking it was causing tinnitus too. I was okay other than high anxiety from tinnitus but I could still kinda function. Fast forward a week and a half later I was hit with the worst insomnia I’ve dealt with in my life. 3 days no sleep followed by about a month and a half of 1-3 hours a night. I didn’t think I’d make it. I thought it was the tinnitus keeping me up but no it was PAWS. I mean the tinnitus def didn’t help one bit. Also alittle backstory I had been taking trazodone for the past 5 years along side lexapro. No issues. Never had issues with lexapro either until the super fast taper. I now know how foolish it was of the nurse to do this to me. My trazodone wasn’t working anymore once the insomnia started. I immediately went back on my dose of lexapro and have stayed on it since. Same with trazodone. But sleep wasn’t coming during the period and I tried so many different meds within that time just trying to achieve sleep. I tried trazodone, unison and melatonin together. Didn’t work. I added Xanax to the trazodone. Didn’t work. I tried seroquel that didn’t work. I tried it was trazodone. Didn’t work. I tried Lunesta and it didn’t work. Tried Lunesta with trazodone didn’t work. I tried doxepin and trazodone and it didn’t work. And then finally I did a bit of Klonopin, Lunesta and trazodone. Finally something worked after a month of basically no sleep. I have since tapered off of both Klonopin and Lunesta. But still on lexapro and trazodone. I didn’t know what paws were until a bit later after all this. I now have a whole host of symptoms. Tinnitus of course is still there. My sleep has recently gotten better and I actually feel trazodone work again. It took months tho. A bit of dpdr, ocd is def up, time kinda feels off, a bit of anhedonia, at the beginning my eyes were so inflamed and they’ve kinda improved to a degree. But I also see I have a bit of visual snow. Not horrible but I’m hoping it doesn’t get worse. Major depression now because I feel like I’ve lost my life, anxiety at an all time high. I had really bad dizziness when this first started and that’s gone away. I had the feeling that my body was moving when it wasn’t that’s gone away. Occasional head pains and I did feel lightheaded back then. I have stomach pains still to this day. I get sad a lot and I’m super irritable and I feel this rage in me. Alittle bit of agoraphobia but I’m trying to work on it. I’ve had SI but working on it. Muscles all over my body were twitching and that’s kinda going away. Feels weird to move my body almost like an unnatural feeling but I think that’s going away. Memory not being the best. It’s been 4 months and I’m shocking I’m even here right now.
I guess I’m wondering what you think I should do

I’m on lexapro 20mg daily
Trazodone 100mg daily

And I’ve taken the occasional Klonopin and I know I need to stop that but it def helps at times.

I take vitamin d 2000iu daily
And 500 b12
I also take lutein 20mg / zeaxanthin 4mg (for eyes)

I was also considering adding

Lithium orotate because I heard it can help the cns but like a super low dose like 5mg (I’m hoping it can help with depression)

And also Astaxanthin 4mg I saw someone say in here it’s good for healing the brain from inflammation

And I’m considering red light therapy from home

Should I stay on the meds I’m on? Just ride it out. Or do I taper again. But an actual hyperbolic taper that I wasn’t giving the option of.

Can the serotin receptors heal even if you’re on the meds?

Opinions on supplements?

Am I doing too much? Haha no lie it’s a miracle I’m even here right now and I’m just trying to get back into life.

Any other suggestions?

I’m only 27 I hate that this has happened to me and I’m just trying to get some relief. I won’t life everyday has been an absolute struggle. Only recently have I noticed some kinds of improvement but I haven’t had a wave or window just a wave

Klonopin?

I got a question. I’ve been dealing with a lot of symptoms from my paws. An ungodly amount. During this time I’ve taken klonopin ranging from .5 to 2 mg. And it eases a lot of my symptoms. At this rate I’m down to just stay in klonopin for life while getting off all other drugs. I know this sounds stupid. But it’s either that or the alternative 🪦. I used to be a strong individual. Not anymore sadly over the past 100 days. I’ve lost everything about myself and nothing has been looking up. I’m bedridden. But when I take klonopin I can actually do stuff. I don’t even care if I have to take klonopin for life I just want a chance of getting better even if it eventually takes me getting off of klonopin eventually. But of course the longest taper know to man. And the same with the ssri and sari I’m on. Thoughts? I’m actually running out of options

Use my story as a warning

Long story short I just had a bit of anxiety and depression without wanting to unalive since I was 16/17 after smoking some strong pot. Fast forward I tried some different meds I think Zoloft and Prozac when I was younger not for long tho. Then I moved on to Lexapro and I didn’t see any negatives. I was on it pre 2019. Got a concussion in 2020 and they put me on trazodone low dose for sleep and it worked like a charm. Upped my Lexapro in 2023 for intrusive thought and it all got better but it might have been a mind over med thing. So 20mg Lexapro and 50mg trazodone. I wasn’t using trazodone every night but there were times I needed it. Fast forward to March of this year I got overstimulated at work and I guess I thought I might need a new med change. The doc told me to switch up my ssri I’ve been on for years in the span of 4 weeks onto one called buspirone (buspar) two weeks into the transition I got 24/7 tinnitus with ear pain in both ears it caused me a lot of distress. I immediately stopped buspar. But my nail in my coffin was not hopping back on Lexapro. I stopped that one soon after. All the sudden trazodone doesn’t work anymore. I got back on lexapro but was hit with the most crippling insominia I’ve ever felt. For a month and a half I got 1-2 hours of sleep a night. Trashed my mental health. I tried so many different sleep meds nothing worked. Anxiety at an all time high. Depression as high as possible. My body has twitches all over from time to time. I’m dizzy when sitting still. I have mild visual snow possibly due to lack of sleep or some other med change who knows. I lost my life in the span of 100 days. I don’t know who I am anymore. I don’t enjoy anything anymore and I was the happiest go lucky guy you would ever meet. I’ve lost everything. Tinnitus from one med then protracted antidepressant withdraw syndrome back to back. My life is ruined. For 26 years of my life I had bumps in the road but this is unbearable. I can barely sleep. It doesn’t feel like sleep anymore. I feel major dpdr. I’ve lost all my muscle I built up. Back and neck hurt. I’m practically bedridden. I’m 27 now since this all started. I was the most social guy you would meet. I had a good career going. My life was looking up to the max. It’s all gone now. The lack of sleep has fucked with my reality so hard I don’t even know what day it is anymore or time. Time feels so different. I don’t get tired anymore. I don’t think I got much time left due to me doing it or my body giving out. Im tired of suffering. I’ve barely made it to this

Day. The life I once cherished is all gone because of a fucking doctor. I wish I never started any psych med. And just went the natural route. I’d do anything to go back in time to March 23 2026. Don’t start any psych med unless you have extended every outreach to every possible scenario. I hate how much docs push these meds and I’m now a victim. I just can’t recover from this. Therapy can’t fix all these physical symptoms. I hope in some way I can save someone from even getting on this train. Drink green tea, sunlight, nature, meditate, music, I hear being spiritual is huge for depression (scientifically backed) I was an extrovert medically turned into bedridden. Everyday is a struggle. And the close I get to ctb. All I wanted was help but I received hell. Let my lesson warn you. And if you already are on meds stay the course. Don’t fix what ain’t broke. And if you want to get off look up the taper clinic and proper tapering. I was never given a chance and I have a Brain injury now. I loved my life more than anything before but now it’s gone

Supplements?

Before tinnitus I’ve always taken b12 1000 and d3 2000 I was deficient in b12 at one point in my live and haven’t gotten off of it. D3 because I haven’t gotten the most sun in my life.

I’m now taking mag gly 210 mg since tinnitus started

No affect that I’ve noticed over the past week

I’m going to start a vit c/ zinc gummy

250 of vit c and 11 mg of zinc tomorrow

And I was thinking of adding micronized pea

Starting with 300 then going up to 600 eventually

I’m also on lexapro and trazodone and trying to get off both but it’s gonna take around a year or so for that.

So any advice on any others or removing anything. I looked into Ala and it seems alittle dangerous. In the sense of it binding to mercury and putting it in your brain.

I don’t want to overdo it on supplements. But at the same time I’m desperate to see if anything will make a change.

I did try taurine 3g today and I didn’t feel a thing. No change in t :/

I’m struggling with mental and physical health right now

I have been on anxiety meds for a while and a dr recently told me to switch to another one. I did and I had horrible withdraws from my old medicine and side effects of the new one. I got tinnitus in both my ears and head. I was then hit with horrible insomnia. But it has improved just not by a lot. Please pray for me to give my body the strength to recovery from this and to heal from the noise. Let the tinnitus and the ringing and beeping disappear. Let anxiety leave my body. Let fear leave my body. Let restorative sleep come naturally to me and let me get off all these medications safely over the course of the next year. Let my body heal. Let the tinnitus leave. Thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 I want to hear the light again and the beauty of silence that was given by god to us back to me

I don’t know how you do it

(26 M) I’ve been dealing with tinnitus since April the 2nd of this year and it’s been hell. It all started when my doc told me to give buspar a try. I was switching from lexapro 20 mg which I had been on for 6+ years no issues. He told me to half my Lexapro for 2 weeks then half it again for another 2 weeks while buspar kicks in. I was taking 5mg twice a day for the initial 2 weeks and would do 10 mg twice after that for the other 2 weeks. I got to 2 weeks and 2 days. I think it was around the 2 week mark that the tinnitus started. My anxiety skyrocketed. My hearing was distorted. My tinnitus sounds like a school bell ringing constantly and another kinda ringing clicking on top of that in my head. 24/7. I remember in the beginning my ears were clogged or muffled. When the tinnitus started I immediately stopped buspar and a few days later I stopped my lexapro. Horrible choice as I was to get hit with the worst insomnia I’ve ever imagined a week and a half later. I didn’t sleep for 3 days straight. Went to the er and they were no help. I had a problem with sleeping in the past when I had a concussion. I was prescribed trazodone. Worked like a charm. It wasn’t working anymore. When I got home I tried 1mg of Xanax and some trazodone with melatonin and I got like an hour or 2 of sleep. For the next 20 days I would get maybe an hour or 2 of sleep. I tried seroquel for 3 days no love. I tried unisom with trazodone no love. I tried Lunesta with trazodone still nothing great. Also to mention I was back on lexapro within that 3rd day of not sleeping because I was assuming it was withdraws. I’m on my 20mg for the past 41 days I’m pretty sure withdraws of that are gone. On the 20th day of shit sleep my doc told me to take klonopin, lunesta and trazodone. That finally worked I got some okay sleep with that but I was so out of it. None of these quiet the tinnitus. For the past two weeks I’ve gotten around 5-7 hours of sleep but it’s nothing like how I used to sleep. No peace. Fragmented. It feels unnatural. Every morning my eyes are so red and feel painful. I’m off Lunesta and klonopin for the past 6 days. I honestly don’t know how to cope. I feel traumatized. I feel stuck. I miss silence so much. I would literally trade both my legs, a hand, my life savings, be in debt forever, to be able to be rid of this. I want to get off trazodone and lexapro eventually. And I’m terrified it’s gonna make it worse. But I know I have to ween so fucking slow off of those now it’s not even funny. My tongue has painful bumps from all the stress. My carpal tunnel has been acting up because of all the researching I’ve done on my phone and looking at the subreddit for countless hours a day. I have ocd so I’m obsessed about all this. At the beginning I would walk so much to try to tire myself out but the past two weeks I’ve been laying in my brothers bed during the day in the sun looking on my phone till it’s time to go to my room for bed. I’m depressed. I’m hopeless. I’ve thought about ending it too many times(never had that before all this). I don’t know if I can habituate. I don’t know how to move on. I feel like I’m just sitting around waiting to die or waiting for a cure. I don’t know. My life was full of so much hope before all this now I just wish I died before all this because this is suffering. I never would’ve wanted this for myself. White noise doesn’t mask it. Crickets kinda but I still can hear noise on the ear on the pillow trying to sleep. I blame the fucking medical industry for putting me on medication at the age of 17. Prozac, Zoloft, Lexapro. I’m shocked I didn’t get tinnitus from all those. But the one that did me in was buspar. Are you fucking kidding me. I just wish I could go back in time and say no to all these drugs they’ve ruined my life imo. Fuck big pharma. My backs been hurting from not doing a lot lately and my neck too. I know it’s from being in bed all day. I’m in a lot of pain. No peace. Just noise and pain. I was beautiful before all this. 2+ months ago. I was doing okay. This is the most bottom of bottoms I’ve been to. Not to also mention I’ve been having pain in my right ear from time to time. Noxacusis? It’s not horrific pain but fuck it doesn’t feel good. And I guess it’s reactive too because when I try to tone match it gets a bit louder? This all fucking sucks. I don’t know how to keep going. Please god let the cure be soon. Sorry for being all over the place it’s just how my mind works.

Supplements

Does any one take lexapro 20mg with trazodone 50-100mg and take supplements?

I take b12 and d3

But I’m thinking of adding taurine 3g and magnesium gly 210 mg

Any thoughts.

I’m adding them because I want to see if it helps with my tinnitus.

Which started 2 months ago during a ween off of lexapro and an introduction of buspar (devils drug) I’m not sure what did it but now I have a 24/7 ring in my head. I’m only praying it goes away.

Please taper over a long period of time!!!

I was on lexapro for a long time sometime before 2020 around 10 mg and then I went up to 20 mg around 2022. About a month ago my dr wanted to switch me to buspirone. I went from a 20 mg of lex to 10 mg for 2 weeks then down to 5 for another 2 weeks while taking buspirone 5 mg twice a day for the first 2 weeks then 10 mg twice a day for the next 2. I don’t think much about this but holy I wish I did. My life changed for the worst. It was around 2 weeks into the change I noticed a buzzing almost electric sound in my right ear or inside my head. Tinnitus…. I believe it started around April 2nd or 4th I wish I had an exact date of when it started. But I didn’t record it down because I didn’t think it would last this long. I stopped buspirone on the 8th of April because I believe that might my culprit. But then again it could be me weening on lexapro so fast. My dr didn’t take came of my health and put my body into jeopardy. I’m not sure what the cause is but. And then I stopped lexapro on the on the 11th because I thought it could be a culprit too. That was a huge mistake. About a week and a half later I got hit with massive insomnia. Either due to anxiety, tinnitus (I use masking and I didn’t get any as) or such a change in my ssris. For 3 days straight I didn’t get any sleep. Then on the 4th I believe I got a few hours. But the next following two weeks I got anywhere from 20 mins to 3 hours of sleep per night. I went back on lexapro immediately as thinking this was the cause. Withdraws. I’m on day 9 now of my regular dose of 20 mg. Within those 2 weeks I had tried 1 mg of Xanax with trazodone 100 mg (I’ve taken trazodone on and off since 2020 but recently it wasn’t working) and maybe got some lil small amounts of sleep. My new psychiatrist got me to try Seroquel 25 for one day didn’t work. Tried 50 mg with 50 trazodone for 2 days the first kinda worked but the 2nd didn’t really. I tried over the counter unisom with my trazodone. And got super sweaty and I don’t think they interacted well with each other. And last night I tried lunesta 3mg with 50 trazodone I believe it worked. It’s so hard to tell now. I’ve really been through it especially the past few weeks. I really wanted to post this as a warning for people originally I was only on lexapro 20mg and trazodone 50-100 mg for occasional use or some months needed it more. I look back at all of this just wishing my doctor didn’t do anything other than say I need therapy. I was healthy and I was just a overstimulated (a-little derealization) at work from being over worked. And probably just needed a vacation or time off. For the love of everything please taper over months super slow not like how my doctor tried to do to me and don’t switch. I’m hoping over the course of the next few weeks my sleep will come back to normal. My psychiatrist said it could take 4-12 weeks to get back to normal with lexapro. And I’m hoping the tinnitus will eventually go away too with time (or I’ll have to get used to it). I’m praying everyday and trying to have hope. It’s been so difficult I can’t even work right now in this condition. I was working 5 days a week prior to now none. Please don’t make the mistake like me and try to taper off super super slow over months or over a year+ I guess once I get on lexapro I might be stuck. I’ll update eventually. I wish all y’all the best and I hope I have brighter happier days ahead of me.
