Buff Wishlist

Obv she needs more hp over anything else, but honestly i dont think thats enough rn. There's been so much powercreep since s9 that simply reverting her to her s8.5 stats would still leave her too weak to play comfortably. These changes would at least make her more fun imo

- 50hp increase

- Increase movement speed to 7m/s

- (Block): remove minimum charge requirement to activate

- (Block): increase meter capacity/regen rate

- (Mag-teamup Block): increase dr by 5%

- (Southern Brawl): decrease cd from 6s to 5s

- (Fatal Attraction): decrease cd from 12s to 10s

- (Chronokick): increase duration on primary-fire kicks

- (Chronokick): give 3-4 kicks instead of 2

- (grab): give soft-cc immunity during initial animation

- (grab): decrease base cd from 25s to 15s

- decrease all ability-specific cds by the same amount

- (grab): increase duration of role-specific buffs

- (grab): drain 5% ult charge from target

- (ult): lower ult-drain threshold from 80% to 70%

- (ult): increase ult-drain rate

Unc still got it

Haven't been playing rogue much lately but i never turn down a thor 1v1

Are we fr

Truly inspiring how the devs can disappoint even with the lowest possible expectations. What exactly is 25hp supposed to do for her going into a full-poke meta??? They didn't nerf the roster's damage output at all (buffed phoenix and wolv too btw), so she's still just gonna explode if she tries to leave cover for more than 5 seconds

I don't even think the block buff applies to the mag teamup (if it does then maybe this'll be good for her), so like wtf is the goal here

S9.5 Prediction Poll

The teamup system makes this 10x more complicated so mb if the poll lwk sucks. I also didnt bother mentioning the gambit teamup bc there's no chance in hell they do anything other than nerf it

Some mag teamup combos

Earlier today, I decided to spend some time in the practice range to experiment with the enhanced mag teamup. I'm sure everyone's noticed by now that the knockback effect on the southern brawl (SB) is a bit janky and tends to make your combos somewhat awkward and inconsistent. Still, I think the mechanic has a lot of potentialn so I wanted to see what I could do with it

Turns out, you can do some pretty insane damage with this teamup. Here are some of the combos that I found the most fun/interesting. Her standard combos from before (the ones that typically opened with SB) still work fine so long as you adjust to the knockback, so I didn't include any of those. My main goal was to utilize SB's knockback at various different points in my combos so I could capitalize on the bonus damage as often as possible

First off, you obv have to be within range of a wall in for the extra damage. The knockback itself sends the target ~10m back, and your other abilities typically add another 5m if you use them all first. It's a bit tricky to estimate distance in this game by sight, so it really just takes trial and error

Each combo does ~450 damage without any charge on SB (so the total would range from ~450-525 if i got the numbers right. However, combos 1B & 2B have an extra melee weave thrown in, which puts the totals closer to ~500-575. To get the extra damage, you have to first trigger the 3rd melee in the sequence (the slower one that does slightly more damage than the first 2) and immediately cancel it with a primary attack. The timing is pretty tight and makes the combos like more difficult (2B is the hardest combo I've ever done by far), but there's really no downside to it. The main reasons to do it are if you want the combo to be more efficient/flexible or if you expect to end the combo too far from the target to follow up with another attack, which tends to happen when you send your target flying. It's also helps with timing SB so that the knockback isn't canceled out by FA's pull

Also, I haven't really had the chance yet to practice these in-game as much as I'd like, but I figured that I might as well share them now in case anyone wanted to try them out for themselves

New combo pt. 2

Yall flamed me bc i only showed the combo in the practice range, so I took some clips of me using it in pdm (im NOT playing quickplay rn). It literally took me less than an hour to get these, and it was genuinely fun

For those of you who dislike burning every cooldown here, yall have to get used to how diving works in this game (her new kit is 100% intended for a dive playstyle). For reference, I'm a champ rogue, and the hardest part of her learning curve is understanding that you almost always have to use every cooldown at once in order to properly dive, peel, etc. Magik and Bp also have to burn their entire kits for a single pick (or maybe not bp anymore ig)

Widow has infinite sprint and high jumps, which is definitely enough to sustain a dive/escape gameplay loop. And even if you die in the process, she now has one of the fastest movement speeds in the game, which makes dying significantly less punishing

I don't like the way they handled the rework, but it honestly isn't that bad (except for the ult)

Actually practical combo

Obv this clip is from when i was labbing but I've used it in some 1v1s and it's actually securing kills pretty consistently

[Primary], burst, slam, [Primary], kick, [Primary], kick, [Primary]

Literally js hold primary fire during the combo and it'll weave in on its own. Breakpoints are very forgiving

Im still pissed abt the rework overall but icl this is kindof fun

Slight issue with mag teamup

The knockback from the teamup pushes the target outside of your grab range, so you can't really use southern brawl as a grab-opener anymore (at least not consistently). You have to either be far enough away for the knockback to not even register or hit a frame-perfext animation cancel with the grab

It does work completely fine if you knock them into a wall though

Uh oh

If i didn't know any better id say that rogue's losing 100hp in s9

Everything else looks amazing tho fr

New peak!

Finally decided to make the push for eternity this season. I've never had the energy/willpower to keep playing through celestial, but one-tricking Rogue really gave me the motivation I needed. I just hit it today! I'm also (apparently) the #6 Rogue on xbox, if that even means anything

I never really expected to make it this far in the ranks in rivals or that I would actually have fun doing it. Question is, should I keep climbing? Or is it better to take a little break from the game (probably until next season)?

Budget controller with back paddles/buttons

I've been using the standard series x controllers for the past few years without much issue, and my current one's stick drift is getting to the point where it's affecting my gameplay. Usually, I'd just replace it with the same type in a different color, but I'm tempted to go for one with some extra buttons on the back to make me less reliant on clawgripping. However, all of the recommended controllers are ridiculously expensive. I just got a new job, so I can technically afford it, but a $150 price increase just for 2 extra bindings is absurd.

Are there any less-pricey models that could do the job for me? Or is it actually worth the investment? I usually play competitive games, so the controller does have to be of decent quality (which is why I'm skeptical of most non-xbox products), and it has to be compatible with my kontrolfreeks. I would definitely appreciate some insight here.

The buffs are good gng

I've been seeing a lot of people complaining about yesterday's patch notes, but I think most of them are being a bit overdramatic.

-The Gambit teamup nerfs are pretty meaningless since he's likely still gonna be a perma-ban, so the teamup will still rarely be available.

-The Fatal Attraction cd reduction seems trivial, but it's actually a really nice qol change for her. The cd being closer to Chronokick's essentially reduces the cd on her full-combo altogether, and with Southern Brawl's 6s cd, ability cycling is gonna feel a lot smoother overall.

-Her block and the dmg conversion mechanic are the primary weak-links in her kit. The conversion, specifically, is basically useless in its current state; the meter consumption required to build a substantial amount of charge almost always prevents her from actuslly utilizing the bonus damage with Southern Brawl, and on top of that, the amount of dmg Rogue takes during this process makes it far more difficult to comfortably capitalize on the opportunity. With these changes, the bonus dmg is going to build much quicker (a 70% increase from its current ratio), and the decreased meter consumption (equal to a 16% increase to her meter capacity) will give her a larger window to utilize the charge. All-in-all, these buffs allow her to actually use this mechanic, increasing her burst-dmg potential and making it kore reliable to secure picks, which also makes it more valuable to burn her entire kit against a single enemy (something that we're already doing most of the time anyway). Moreover, the block meter increase simply buffs her survivability, and therefore her uptime as well (particularly with brawling).

These buffs are perfect for Rogue's hyprid brawl/dive design. They make her more effective with the things she's already good at while also helping her where she's struggling. Additionally, the fact that we got these buffs without losing the Gambit teamup altogether means that we can still count on some compensatory buffs when they do remove it in the future. I lowkey think that most of the people complaining about these changes are either being overly-negative for no reason or just don't really understand the character (sorry if that sounds harsh, but that's just my honest opinion).

Results are in!

Congrats to the 81 people who predicted that Rogue would be buffed while keeping the teamup. Although i suppose I should've included the possibility that the teamup would get nerfed. We're still eating so good tho

Another prediction poll!

Patch notes drop on Tuesday, so it's time to see everybody's expectations again.

I still think Rogue's gonna get completely ignored next patch. However, Cyclops's release is gonna be our best shot at getting the gambit teamup removed yet since it's reasonable to assume that he's getting a new teamup with Phoenix, which would free up wolv and widow to each get a new teamup for themselves (the more teamup shuffling there is, the more likely it is that Rogue, Gambit, and Mag get caught in the mix).

Order needs payment revision

I'm moving out of my current apartment soon, and I made a large order on amazon to set up the new place once I get there. However, most (not all) of the items have been delayed because they need "payment revision." There's nothing wrong with the credit card I used for the purchase, and I've used the same card for something else since then with no issue. Even so, I can't seem to find a way to revise my payment in the first place.

What can I do to fix this asap? I'm moving out in a few days, and I was really counting on my order arriving before then.

Rogue's likely getting another legendary soon

The leaks specified that Rogue's upcoming legendary would be from the comics. Her new cowgirl skin, however, is completely original (not from the comics), which means that it is most likely not the same skin.

This is obviously just a theory, but it would be crazy if true

Fun fact about the poll

Glad to see that most of you guys also had 0 faith in the devs this season!

What's really funny is that when I was first making the poll, I considered adding an option that said "no buffs + counters get buffed," but I didn't want to make it too complicated/far-fetched/cynical.

So ironic that they buffed wolv, emma, iron fist, Mr. f, and phoenix before buffing rogue a single fucking time! I'm gonna push for eternity this week and then I'm taking a long ass break from the game bc I'm officially fed up

Ive decided to take a break from my champion rogue grind and start learning angela for a little change of pace. Im having a ton of fun with her so far and definitely want to lord her, but im struggling with her survivability. I genuinely dont know why, but angela feels like the squishiest character ive ever played (i have 12 lords).

I try to utilize my shield and stay mobile as much as possible, but i just explode the second anyone tries to shoot me. It doesnt even feel like im taking damage half the time, and ill get nuked for 2/3 of my healthbar in the blink of an eye.

It could just be me, but i swear the character feels like shes at 40% dmg vulnerability 24/7. And again, im a rogue main, so its not like im new to playing a squishy dive tank. Id appreciate hearing some advice on what im doing wrong.
