How bad are mosquitoes in Gulf Shores?

I've always been more sensitive to mosquito bites than the average person, so I'm wondering if I'll have to pack some mosquito spray. Lol.

Thoughts on the new Moneyball 4K?

Overall, It looks great. After comparing it to the Blu-Ray, I can definitely say it's a better transfer and it doesn't have the compression artefacts present in the original Blu-Ray...HOWEVER, I'm still a little irked that there's no HDR on this release. I genuinely thought my player was messed up when it said it was SDR. According to blu-ray.com, this was apparantly a "director approved" edition, which would mean this was an intentional choice. I'm not sure how to feel about this. I'm not going to sit here and tell you it looks awful, because it doesn't. It looks amazing, in fact! But it still feels...weird. What's the general consensus?

What type of gear is best for Ocean Pier Fishing?

Could I get away with using a 10-20 pound spinning reel, or do I have to break the bank and get a Saltwater reel? I don't plan on catching massive, so I don't see any point in getting anything in the 40+ pound range. Any recommendations?

Does anybody else think German is a beautiful language?

Ich LIEBEN die Deutsche Sprache. Lol. Seriously, it just sounds so lovely to me. Plus, as an Anglophile who's obsessed to an almost unhealthy degree with the history of the British Isles, I've always loved how similar it is to English, and how interconnected its history is with ours. I've been called "weird" by pretty much everyone for liking this language (even by people who are also interested in linguistics!), and I'm curious how many like-minded people are out there.

What's the best cheap external DAC for a smartphone?

Exactly as the title says. I'm looking for a good budget one, but there's so many options, I'm scared I'll pick the wrong one. Any suggestions?

I need encouragement to force myself to go back to College.

For context, I've already attended college, but flunked out because of classes that were too hard. I wasn't in the best place mentally to begin with, but it got worse when I went to college, though I'm happy to report thay it's actually improved after leaving. However, I've come to realise that there isn't anything that pays well that I would enjoy doing without getting a college degree. I've tried going back, but everytime I try to register, I get overwhelmed and emotional, probably due to past experiences. I already know a lot of you are going to say "You need therapy!", which is true, but I live in the land of the nothing-for-free (U.S.A.), so that's obviously out of the question. Short of someone putting a gun to my head, I feel like I physically can't force myself to go back to college, and believe me when I say I've tried. I'm hoping by typing this out, I might be able to finally get some courage to bite the bullet and go back, as much as I doubt it.

Making this as a response to my previous post (which I've deleted in case the mods try to claim that I'm spamming the boards with this topic). I've discovered a fix that makes HDR10+ properly output on a TV! Go into the settings of your player, force it to output 4:2:0/10-bit (which is the exact output by HDR10+), and voilà! Pixelation seems to get introduced due to the player outputting 12-bit instead of 10-bit, and makes the output look like shit as a result. Forcing the player to output 10-bits (the way it's supposed to be output) fixes the issue.

With all that said, I do have to say that HDR10+ now looks great, and I'm wondering why more companies (especially gaming companies) haven't tried to implement it more, since it's open source. All I can guess is that it seems to have a really poor implementation, going by the fact that I had to mess around with my TV's and do a bunch of troubleshooting just to get it working properly, so perhaps that's why it's *seemingly* been cast aside in favour of Dolby Vision?

Also, I didn't think I'd have to state this, but this post is intended to get a consensus going on 1: what most people on this thread think about HDR10+ & 2: whether or not you prefer it to Dolby Vision. Last time, you guys did nothing but insult me over it when I just simply stated my opinion on it and tried to see what the general consensus is. Try to be more civil this time!
