Why does WS keep changing its design & UI every few weeks?

I'm 31 and grew up knowing my way around apps, but this is definitely going to confuse older users.

Might as well call it WealthComplicated now.

Would Go Trains be the best way to commute to Toronto for the World cup games?

Curious if that's what people here think since the region hasn't explicitly stated what the best method is afaik

Thank you

45%+ over 1 year | Self managed & Heavily Researched high-growth portfolio

Hi everyone,

Wanted to share this high growth portfolio I've been managing by analyzing stocks & sectors on a daily basis. This is one of 2 portfolios I manage on WS, with the other one being my "conservative bucket" - happy to share information on that too.

Background:

31M- investing since 2021. Been extremely extremely lucky to have received money from my parents early on, and with a low-stress (and low pay) job, I've been able to focus more time on learning how to invest properly, listening to Bloomberg all day long in the background and feel like I've done very well. This portfolio was at about 100K deposited on Oct 2024- added about 30k more since then

Investment thesis:

Aggro-conservative mix: Given the current volatility, I try to keep a 70-30 mix in favour of equity, but my conservative side is somewhat market linked too so its not conservative in the traditional sense.

This aggro portfolio: I track about 150 names across industries and have a good idea of where the wind is blowing, what underlying trends impact different sectors. I started with learning about the IT space, since that's the industry I work in and Im familiar with. Then spent a while learning about the oil & gas sector and added more sectors to my knowledge base steadily. Having alerts on different names helps a lot. I add speculative or risky plays slowly- bought Nvidia at $10 and at $180

Speculation vs S&Ping: I try not to deviate from the S&P's weighted allocations for big cap names too much. I'm trying to beat the market but don't want to be a contrarian for the sake of being a contrarian. For example, if I rate Micron very highly, I try to restrict myself to investing up to 5% of the total invested amount only and cut back when earnings turn for the worse or market sentiment dampens.

Goals:

Try to beat the S&P annually by 1-1.5% in an effort to double my holdings every 6 years instead of a traditional 8 years in a 30 year span.

Tools Used:

  1. Personal Excel sheet - extremely detailed with so much insight that I cant really begin to describe the benefits. template from r/CSPersonalFinance
  2. TradingView for charts- must have. The free version is great
  3. Tipranks - Analyst ratings for corroborating trades & double-checking analyses. Free version is great

This is not financial advice. Do your research and VFV/XEQT are good if you don't have one lifetime to waste on listening to Bloomberg 24*7. Happy to answer questions
