Five gloves.

How the hell do I get ahold of a pair of five gloves? Their website shows the only dealer in Washington state to be an eagle leather that does not actually carry five gloves (I even called and asked). Amazon carries some five gloves but their stock is severely limited to women’s or in sizes that don’t fit me. Am I just SOL? I really want to try on a pair of SF1 evos.

I’ve tried on every glove in cycle gear with a hard palm slider and leather palm and so far nothing fits well.

Bmw auxiliary light question.

Does anyone know if the factory LED auxiliary lights on the adventure bikes (F800gsa specifically), have serviceable bulbs or are they integrated? I’d like to change mine to be yellow and didn’t feel the need to swap em out for anything else.

Worth the ride.

Sucks I gotta ride for an hour just to get anywhere pretty anymore. Also not sure I was actually allowed to ride this part of capitol forest. It was my first time in dirt and at that location.

How to become a MSF instructor

As the title states I’m interested in becoming a MSF instructor. I’m curious what the process is. Checking the MSF site really only shows how to start a business doing so. I’ve been riding for 12 years and think that this could be a fulfilling second job for me as I’m pretty passionate about motorcycles.

Looking for THE tent.

TL;DR: Looking for 2 person tent suggestions based on ease of setup/breakdown and weight.

Going on my first motocamping trip to Canada in September and have started the process of shopping for a tent. My biggest problem with most tents is that it never folds back into the bag as nice as it came out and I end up with a bloated mess of a carrying bag. At this point I just buy a $30 Walmart tent and throw it away at the end of the trip or a bring a big pop up canopy and sleep under it in the bed of my truck.

I was thinking a pop up tent might help with this but all the videos I see of it show it being set up but never being broken back down. I really only need a 2 person tent and would prefer it to be relatively light weight so I can strap it to the pannier racks on my f800gs and not worry about it for the +14 hour ride.

I was looking at one of these but for how cheap it is I’m a little wary. Of course the YouTube videos on it don’t show it being broken down. I don’t need it to be super bulletproof as I’m a pretty fair-weather camper but wind and rain does happen.

First time. Let’s hear the critiques

First time trimming a brisket. Following meat churches videos. Found out my favorite knife isn’t as sharp as I thought. So that process was a bitch. There was so much hard fat in weird pockets I felt a way about carving it out and maybe ruining the slab. You can see in the fridge photo where I started to commit and backed out of making a cave in my meat.

Not sure I used enough seasoning. It’s not really making a rough bark like I hoped. Will that come with time?

Pellet grill was set to 200° last night at 8pm. Woke up and she was at 165° at 5am. Turned it to 225° and it picked back up. Went to temp it and found out my thermometer is broken.

Really making sure to hit all the fuck ups my first go round. At least I had the foresight to overnight it instead of starting this morning for dinner tonight.

Cast iron is to keep the sear plate from overcooking the meat that’s over it. Also rendering fat to make tallow.

Edit: I didn’t know the rules and didn’t know I should’ve posted a slice photo. I’ll update with one in the comments when it’s done resting. This post was because from the videos I was watching they seem to cut a lot more, and the slab comes out with great bark before it gets wrapped where mine looks more like a tri tip. For sure more seasonings next time.

Off idle torque lacking

Been riding my new to me ‘17 F800gsa for a few weeks and I’ve noticed I really got to ride the clutch out or get the revs a lot higher (3k) than my other bikes to get it off the line at a reasonable pace. Some research on the forums about it tell me it’s due to the bike being lean from the factory but the fix may be a little piggyback module to modify the air temps being read by the ecu.

Is this because of the weight of the bike? It’s for sure rideable with no other real malfunctions (slight low rpm surge in 1st gear), but it is bad enough I couldn’t imagine trying to do any real off roading with it because I’d just chew the clutch up. Bike just clicked over 10k miles if it matters

SMX-6 owners

What are we doing? Riding pants tucked into the boot? Over the boot with really tall socks? Do you just develop calluses on your shins?

I’ve been wearing mine for a couple weeks with my riding pants (khakis? They’re AA rated) tucked into the boot part way and it solves most of my discomfort issues of the boot rubbing my shin/calf. However I keep snagging the upper Velcro portion on my peg when I take off and go to put my feet back up. I know alpinestars are notorious for poor quality Velcro so I’m not trying to exacerbate that issue. Wearing with my pants over the boots rub my shin raw over time. I ordered new tall socks to hopefully help with this but also the pants fit kinda tight over that giant shin guard area.

First day back in my mesh gear

Committed.

Bought and rode it 150miles home yesterday. Only got one complaint in the form of a question. Do they make seats where the back of the pilot seat is cut a little further back or more flat? I found myself constantly being pushed into the tank.

Also. The absolute luxury. 2 years ago I didn’t even own a bike with fuel injection.

Common issues?

Going to look at 2017 f800gsa with 9700 miles on it on Sunday. It’s like my 7th bike but my first bmw bike. I’ve worked on bmw cars for 13 years and used to install sidecar rigs on r1200s and f800s back in my teens so I’m kinda of familiar with bmw design language, but they all were damn near new, and I never really got to talk to customers about them.

Any known issues I should look out for outside of my normal checks? (Sprockets, tires, spokes, head bearings, fork seals, engine case damage).

What engine is this?

Just bought this grom clone from a buddy. Trying to figure out what this engine is based off of so I can start tweaking it. From what I can tell the vin comes back as a Huzhou diaxi 125. The website is awful https://www.zhenhuagm.com/products/m3.html

I’m hoping it’s closely related enough to a proper grom that some of the parts fit.

Been rocking a radial master cylinder for a month. A review

Why do they just not come this way from the factory? This is hands down my favorite modification of all time. Much more front brake control and confidence. All of my bikes from here on out are getting radial masters.

Got this unit from SVRacingparts with some Galfer stainless brake hoses. For the record, I’m not a track rider. This is my daily driver.

Is there a city ordinance regarding intentionally letting your animal urinate on cars/property?

TL;DR: is there a city ordinance regarding intentionally letting your animal urinate on cars/property?

I bought a house in South Tacoma +3 years ago. In the last year animals (I hope) have been peeing on the back bumper/quarter panel of my car. It has happened often enough that it feels intentional (as in, I pointed out the pee stain on my car last night, came out this morning and there’s a new spot next to it.) I’m going to be setting up a camera in my front yard so I can figure out when it’s happening so I can at least politely ask the owner to stop (I’m assuming they’re not doing it to be a dick. Just happens to be the dogs favorite spot). But if things escalate I’d like to have some legal standing to lean on. I tried looking on the city website but only results coming back regard public urination.
