My first good book haul

Found a stack of books for my bookcases on marketplace. The blood black unmarked book is a salesman sample for a Charles Dickens line of books. The insides are all great especially the Walter Scott one is in very good shape for its age.

Charles Dickens subscriber edition?

Hey folks! I recently started my quest on collecting old classic books and I came across this strange Charles Dickens subscribers edition book. Has anyone ever run into something like this?

My Dark Victorian Study

After months of remodeling and curating pieces, I finally see the finish line of being complete with my Gothic study. the furniture is almost all victorian with some gothic and renaissance revival pieces. This was always a dream of mine to have a space like this. The room outside this is being turned into a gothic revival informal meeting space but isn’t ready. Thanks for looking.

My Hunter’s Workshop

After several months of remodeling and curating I finally am just about done with my own workshop. There are several weapons and costuming from the game scattered throughout. See what you can find! We also just started recording a podcast mostly playing games and talking about nerdy stuff which is soon to be published. Thanks for looking!

My Dark Victorian Study

After curating pieces locally for the last few months, I’ve just about finished my study/ home office. This space was originally a storage room built above the garage but I have refinished it from the ground up. I have also been using it for recording and podcasting.

Dark Victorian Study

Hello everyone. I’ve recently done some big upgrades to my office/study above my garage. All the furniture just about is all antique and inspired by the aesthetics from the Bloodborne video game. I’ve also started doing a nerdy podcast here but nothing is published yet.

Thrift Store Parlor Lamp

This morning I found this beautiful Werner hurricane lamp at my local thrift store. I’ve found several crazy lamps here but this is one of my favorites.

Heavy brass floor lamp

I just picked up this beauty from a shed and would love some more information. The base portion is very heavy and seems to be solid brass. The shade looks to be made with copper wire and the chord is the old fabric type. The pulls also are buttery smooth. Any ideas?

Exposed or concealed nails?

Currently working on an old teachers desk and the old nails pulled through the front portion. I’ve since added period appropriate replacements but wondering if I should plug up the holes or keep it as is?

Need help identifying this watercolor

Found in the US. The frame looks good older and the date signed looks to be 1945. I can make out Hellmut but the last name I can’t seem to decipher to any known artist. Thank you!

Trying to Fix This Secretary

made by the Illinois cabinet company. There is a scroll design over the glass I want to recreate, but I can’t find this exact model anywhere to get inspiration from. I know how to fix it, I’m just trying to find an example with that design in tact. Anyone have any leads? Thanks in advance.

Vantage point cut crystal? serving bowl

It’s very heavy and very well made with deep cuts. I can’t seem to find any maker marks on it. Was with a ton of Victorian china. Auto correct made vintage, vantage for some reason.

Curbside Mastercraft Coffee table

The glass was unfortunately gone but I’ll replace it. The table is large and surprisingly heavy.

Curbside Find buffet

Hey folks, was going to Costco and saw this beauty sitting on the side of the road. I’m pretty sure it would be vintage revival but they used brass hardware, flat head screws, and hobnails for the legs. It sat overnight in a bit of rain so the top needs refinished but this is going to into my newly remodeled dining room. Just need to figure out what finish they used.

Hey folks,

I recently found this angel in a group of Eastlake wood salvage and I’m trying to figure out if it went on a piece of furniture, or it was attack to some kind of Corbell shelf. The top is flat and looks like two pegs might have been attached at some point but snapped off. The goal is to rebuild what it might have been attached to.

Folks, I just picked up this antique secretary and I’m going to attempt to add trim to the bottom where it used to be. I've done a good amount of refinishing of old furniture but never replacing trim and never mahogany. It’s a mahogany wood and I would guess I would need to try and find old furniture salvage. Any advice over all? I'm in the South East USA if that helps.

Hey Folks,

I just came across this one and I'm a bit stumped. I've seen secretaries a plenty but this one is pretty different. Any ideas where or when this could be from?

hey folks,

I just recently rescued this arts and crafts desk and I’m looking to refinish it. The nails holding the front have come loose so I plan on replacing them and refinishing the top. The rest of the finish is in tact and I want to match it. Any ideas what would be best? I want to use this as my office desk so shellac isn’t the route I want to go. Thanks!
