Advice on how to use Nel and Rafal

I’m currently going through my first ever playthrough of Engage and have just gotten to the first level in Solm. I’ve completed the DLC very early in the game and have been using the DLC characters fairly regularly throughout. Zelestia has become a mainstay in my team, Madeline has been a reliable tank, and while Gregory isn’t the best mage he’s been useful so far. As for Nel and Rafal, they haven’t really clicked with me and I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because I haven’t reclassed them but so far they’ve been unreliable.

So is there any tips and tricks for them I should know about, good classes other than fell child? Is there something I’m just missing?

The two kinds of homebrew lore

One took me 30 seconds to think up and the other came to me a really detailed dream. Can you guess which is which?

I did a Golden Deer maddening run to get all of Claude’s and Hilda’s supports I was missing, and accidentally created one of the most scuffed endings I’ve ever experienced

Maddening no new game. And to answer two quick questions, I was originally planning to S-support Alois at first, so he and Catherine didn’t have max supports because I had already got that one before and I didn’t bother to max out everything, and my Byleth’s name is in reference to a DnD campaign I was in when I started this playthrough

I plan to do something similar for the eagles and kingdom, though I had just picked up a copy of Engaged to play on a trip out of the country so that’s going to be on the back burner for the time being

I’m not done with this model, but what I have looks so cool that I’m tempted to abandon my original plan and stick with this general aesthetic

I was planning on making a Son of Malice-turned-Red Corsair but I don’t know if I should add the white half anymore
