Hey fam. I’m chopping a 16” mid-length barrel to 12.5” to fit a SPECWAR and a 16” piston barrel to 12” to fit a Shovelnose. Given how thicc the barrels are, has anyone ever had a barrel cut and threaded 5/8x24? Thanks!

I was putting together a NZ clone with the CQB upper and 16” mid-length barrel. The SPECWAR has been getting my attention. I’m looking at selling the CQB, getting the SPECWAR, and having Mr. Wilson cut the barrel to 12.5”. I’ve read the factory 12.5” could be gassy. Assuming the gas port size is smaller on the 16”, should I leave it when having it cut down? Thanks!
