AITAH for paying a vet bill.

A bit of a strange one (or at least I think so). My girlfriends parents have 2 dogs who are relatively older now at 14 years old. The one dog just had her 3rd vet visit for the year and 2 of the three times my girlfriends parents just expected her to pay the bill (which she did). Now after the 3rd visit I paid without initially informing my girlfriend, once all was done and she said she was going to pay and I told her not to worry I had covered it to which she said thank you and so on.

Now we get beck to her parents house and my girlfriend explains what was done and that i had paid for it, instead of a thank you or anything else i got questioned why i paid and not my girlfriend (not that i did it for a thank you or for any form of recognition). After a bit of back and forth I explained i didn’t think it was fair she kept getting stuck with the bill when its not her dog and that they (her parents) are capable of paying for it but never do. Just to add this isn’t the only expense they have my girlfriend pay for.

Were both fairly young (both 24) so its not like my girlfriend has the money lying around to keep covering vet bills which is why i paid (i come from a somewhat comfortable family but i did pay with my own money)

So AITAH for telling my girlfriends parents it’s not fair that they keep sticking my girlfriend with vet bills when they’re capable of paying it them selves.

3D printed the bonnet release latch.

About 2 years ago the bonnet release latch disappeared from my girlfriends car, while the part itself isn’t expensive from Ford I though hey let’s print one. I used standard white PLA and it’s worked flawlessly. I thought there might be warping or some melting seeing it lives in the engine bay but 2 years on and it seems just fine still.

Neatened up the temporary battle station.

Thought I’d share my battle station I neatened up today (temporary because my girlfriend and I are looking at getting our first place together). This is a custom desk my dad and I built, it “floats” but has one leg on the left more for just aesthetics otherwise it’s mounted to the wall. And below it is my pair of B&O speakers.

My first custom mech keyboard

I built my first custom keyboard over the weekend after being a long time observer of the hobby, while I understand the GMMK Pro is not a popular board anymore I got the barebones new on sale for $45.

Glorious GMMK pro barebones
Cherry MX brown switches.
Double shot prism keycaps.

Everything was on sale when I ordered it so the whole build only cost the equivalent of $85.

My first time growing reapers.

I made the silly mistake of planting them as we entered winter so they have definitely been growing slower than expected but at least they’re growing and seem to be happy. Seeing we have a day of sun I’ve put them outside to soak up the warmth.

Thought I’d share this monster of a burger I had.

Triple “wagyu” patty with cheese a bacon, the Pattie’s were cooked to medium. Unfortunately this is the only picture I took.

How many people took the day off or worked from home today?

My DIY home office for the day, who else was allowed to work from home or do you normally work from home?

I upgraded to the Air so far it’s been brilliant.

I had a iPhone 12 that was nearing its end, the battery was as good as a 5 year old battery can be, the charging port didn’t work so I used MagSafe and the speakers were really dull and showing their age. I’m a software dev and recently started playing with IOS app development so not being able to transfer things to my phone via cable was becoming a hindrance, so I bit the bullet and got an Air. So far it’s only been great, obviously upgrading a 5 year old phone to something newer brings massive changes so it was expected. I will probably still use MagSafe as my primary choice of charging but knowing I can use a cable again is a relief.

Full motion flight sim model.

I hope this is allowed, if not I apologise to the mods and community. I just thought I’d share this model I built of the CAE 7000XR. I’ve spent quite a bit of time flying full motion sims so now having this model of a sim I’ve flown is quite cool.
