PDP trigger comparisons

I own a PDP SF Match 5". It's one of my all time favorite pistols, and the trigger is a big part of why. Right now, it is my only modern Walther. I am considering picking up a smaller, poly frame PDP as a carry gun, and I'm a little stuck because I have no realistic way to try them out before buying.

I am looking at either the 4" compact or the 3.5" F-series. It looks like those sizes are available with either the DPT (which I know and love in my SF gun) or the PDT (which I've never tried and have no easy way of trying before buying). Whatever I buy, it'll be kept bone stock since it'll be carried.

I don't really care about trigger weight so much, it's more the nice short travel, quick reset, and overall crisp non-mushy feel that I am looking for. Coming from the SF PDP with the DPT, will I completely hate a PDT in a poly gun? Or, is the PDT good enough that I'll prefer it to my other carry guns, i.e. something like a P365? If the PDT is good enough, I'd rather pocket the $200ish price difference.

Maybe most importantly, why did Walther use such easy to confuse acronyms for their triggers? I think I just about wore out the P and D keys on my keyboard writing this.

Any pistol caliber carbines in central NY stores?

I'm planning on purchasing a 9mm carbine in the near future. I'd like to see/hold as many options as possible in person before purchasing. So, I am looking for stores in the area that stock various PCCs. I don't want to just go online and buy a Thorsden-equipped or spur grip AR 9 without seeing what it feels like first.

Lots of places have a Ruger PCC available. That's a known entity. I want things to compare to it. I'd love to see a Just Right Carbines in person, since they are located right here in NY and they sell an off the shelf NY compliant 9mm carbine. I looked at their dealer finder and attempted to contact a handful of their local dealers, but the places were either out of business or they told me they'd never heard of the brand.

Does anyone know a store in upstate/central NY that stocks PCCs other than the Ruger? I'd be willing to drive anywhere between Albany and Rochester across the middle of the state.

"Armor" for the Romeo RS Compact?

I have the RS Compact on a P365 as my first attempt at learning to use a red dot. It's a steep learning curve but I'm finally making progress.

One problem that really bugs me. My natural instinct when racking the pistol is to grab the back of the slide right where the serrations meet the base of the optic. I'm left handed, so I grab with my right thumb and index.middle finger. The problem with this is that my thumb often lands directly on the button on the side of the optic and thus the next time I present the pistol, the brightness is changed or the optic is switched off.

I know I've seen covers or "armor" for other red dot sights that snaps on top of them and is supposed to add protection. I searched for this sight but couldn't find anything. What I'd love to find would be something to pop on the optic that allowed it to be used normally as a sight, but covered the button and prevented accidental presses. Does anyone know if something like this exists?

Struggling with eye dominance as a RDS beginner

Hi,

I'm an old dog trying to learn new tricks. A red dot on a carry gun.

I've had it for a few months at this point and have done some basic drills to reinforce grip pressure and wrist angle through the draw stroke as well as trigger control. I feel like I have enough experience with irons to be confident in those aspects at this point but reinforcing them with the red dot has been helpful.

I am still struggling though, and I think it has to do with eye dominance and how my head and eyes are positioned as I present the pistol. Inevitably, at least half the time when I present the pistol, I do not see the dot.

If I freeze the position of the pistol in one of those situations, and focus on my eyes and/or head position, I can get the dot to appear. 99% of the time, the dot is more or less right on target. My muscle memory has correctly pointed the pistol without using the dot. I just need to change the alignment of my eyes and it pops in to view. I suppose this is good news.

The bad news though, of course, is that I can't see the freaking dot without this fiddling around. It seems like I end up presenting the pistol "between" the lines of sight for both eyes. I am left handed, but I have struggled my entire life with having no obvious sense of eye dominance. None of the classic "do this cool trick to figure out which eye is dominant" type tests ever work for me. I've tried to break down my draw stroke with irons, because I don't seem to have a problem there, and I think what happens is my brain picks up the irons as the gun comes up and corrects accordingly to align with my left eye. With the red dot, I don't have a reference point to make that correction.

Does anyone have drills, YouTube videos, or other material I can use to help train eye dominance and alignment with a red dot?

Is this a good candidate for pointless dent repair?

Ford Bronco. Got backed in to in the parking lot, other car hit the spare tire. Spare tire mount got torqued and pushed in at an angle which resulted in this big crease in the swing gate. I honestly don't care how it looks since it's nearly hidden by the spare, but the spare isn't sitting right any more and going over big bumps results in a clunk because it shifts against the lower rubber pad on the swing gate.

I've never done paintless dent repair. I don't know if this is a good candidate for this type of repair and was wondering if I could get some opinions before I just google for a local place and decide if I should trust them or not.
