I didn't realize the end of the main novel was the end of the main novel

So I read the majority of the novel years ago but never finished it because the translation wasn't complete. I recently picked it back up and started rereading it.

Apparently I finished the main story a while ago and didn't even realize. I just happened to notice that the chapter title that I just started was "side story 36" and was like ope 🙃

I scrolled all the way back to the end of the main novel and reread the chapter and noticed the "the end " at the very bottom that I didn't even notice the first time around and seriously, why is the ending so lack luster! Like it just came out of nowhere with zero warning and just sorta happened.

Anyways I've been enjoying the side stories, though I did notice the pacing felt weird compared to the rest of the novel (now I know why lmao) but was anyone else a bit taken by surprise with the abrupt ending?

Just finished putting solar on my RV

Now I just gotta wait for the sun to come up so I can fully test it.

8 200watt panels, 4 pairs of two that run to a combiner box and then down to the basement to a shut off switch and then to the mppt which goes to the lynx distributor and the rest of the system.

I've pretty much just been googling and watching videos like crazy for months and just barely understand what I've done honestly 😅

It's been a long process for sure with lots of ups and downs and definitely not as easy as they make it look in videos but this should be the final piece!

We have a 600ah battery and an inverter which we spliced into the main electrical and has been running good for weeks now! The solar was the last bit needing to be done. We're moving into the RV full time and we were waiting to put the panels on until right before we leave because we live in a suuuuuper sketch neighborhood and I didn't wanna make theft more tempting with a fully off grid-able solar RV sitting on the curb. But it's officially time to start moving in!

Fingers crossed that tomorrow when the sun comes up and I flip the switch, nothing burns down 😅🤞🏼I'll be on standby with a fire extinguisher.

Oh and PS I know my electrical cubby is super crowded and not all that neat. Now that the solar is installed I'm gonna go through with zip ties and try and clean it up a bit. We're definitely gonna be keeping an eye on it and make sure nothing's over heating, especially in this crazy heat we've been having! We're super limited on space so it was the best we could do.

How do I know if my contacts are correct? This doesn't feel right but maybe I'm just not used to it?

I went and got a contact fitting on Sunday 7/26 and was sent home with a pair of trial monthly Air Optix Hydraglyde for astigmatism. Doctor recommended this brand because I mentioned I often have dry eyes and she said monthly is cheaper which is important to me since I don't have a lot of money. I've never worn contacts before.

On Monday 7/27 I tried them out. At first it was weird. My vision was sharper as in I could read a poster across the room clearly that I couldn't read before, but everything seemed almost foggy or wet, especially around the edges. I read that it can take time for your eyes to adjust to contacts so I waited a few hours.

During this time I did notice that the fogginess was clearing up but I felt like my eyes were drying out and I felt like I could feel the contacts on my eyes, especially around the bottom edge of my eyes which I didn't like. But after a while I did sorta forget they were there and I thought everything was fine.

However after removing them I noticed a red ring around my iris and my eyes were crazy dry. I then read that apparently you're not supposed to wear contacts for too long on your first day and I figured I probably over did it. I think I wore them about 7 hours. Plus I was using cheap contact solution that my insurance provided so I immediately hopped online and ordered some better stuff.

I didn't wear them at all this week to give my eyes plenty of time to recover. Now today Friday 7/31 I decided to try again. I've had the contacts sitting in the new solution I ordered instead of the cheap stuff all week (and I changed the solution to fresh solution every day cause I read you should do that).

Immediately upon putting them in, everything was wet and blurry again but still sharper at the same time? And I can feel the weight of them resting on my eyes which I don't like, especially along the bottom edge. I waited about an hour this time to not over do anything but I still don't feel comfortable wearing them. Upon taking them out, there's no red ring this time, but my eyes do feel pretty dry and i immediately used my eye drops (systane pf drops, I also regularly use systane nighttime gel)

Now I'm wondering, is all this normal? Do I just need to adjust to my contacts? Or should I contact my doctor and ask for different contacts to try? Thanks!

I swear I saw that shipping would take a month

I could've sworn I saw folks saying to expect a month for shipping and then even on the website I thought I saw that shipping would take 2-3 weeks but I just ordered the starlink mini on the 28th and it's set to be delivered today on the 30th. 2 weeks? Nah, 2 days haha

Honestly I'm slightly impressed lmao let's hope the service is as impressive as well 🤞🏼

Also side note, financing the mini comes out to a total of 192$ vs buying it outright at 199$ which is kinda weird but hey I'll save 7$, why not?

I'm so disappointed in this Horsey sauce

I just bought a bottle of Horsey sauce from the store. I was so excited to have it at home! I love this stuff.

I just tasted it for the first time and it does NOT taste like horsey sauce AT ALL 😭😭 there's zero tang to it. No burn in your nose that you get from horseradish. It's so mild! I could just be eating mayo with a bit of vinegar.

This is not at all what Arby's has in their stores. Such a let down.

Anyone here familiar with a 2000 jamboree rallye? More specifically the headboard.

I was doing some deep cleaning on this rv I bought and I noticed the headboard seems to be held on by Velcro but when actually trying to wiggle or pull on it, it's pretty sturdy. I lightly used a screw driver to see if I could pull it away from the wall but the wood is pretty soft and it just dented the headboard. I didn't wanna break anything so I'll just leave it alone for now.

I plan on repainting (hence the deep cleaning where I was scrubbing the walls and noticed this) and it would make my life a little easier to not have to paint around the edges of the headboard but no biggie either way.

Is the headboard supposed to be detachable from the wall or is this some kinda repair from the previous owner? I read the manual I got with the RV and I don't remember seeing anything about this. Anyone have any insight?

Also would be cool if I could remove it and add an outlet to it 🤔

I have 2 questions about replacing a water heater

  1. has anyone ever replaced a propane water heater and was it difficult to do?

  2. if you replaced the propane heater with an electric one, did you bother tearing out the old heater or did you just find a spot for the electric one and just bypass the old one?

We just discovered (the hard way) that the propane water heater on the new to us RV we bought off Facebook is cracked.

Someone we know has a tankless water heater they said we can have for free. We've already fully wired the RV up with plenty of solar and battery so I'm not too worried about electricity vs propane, tho I'm not completely opposed to just replacing it with another propane water heater if it isn't too difficult either.

So I'm thinking if we went the tankless route, I just wouldn't bother removing the old water heater. It seems like it would be a lot of work and I'd have to plug the hole in the side of the RV where the heater was and cap off any propane lines and all that. It just seems like it would be easier to bypass the old heater and reroute to the new tankless heater which can sit in a cabinet right next to the old water heater. Not the cleanest option but the laziest and still effective lol

OR

I could just replace the old heater with a new similar style model if it isn't too difficult.

Anyone care to weigh in? Has anyone done either option themselves and was it difficult?

How do I remove this rim cover?

I removed this center cover with two flat head screws but now the main big cover won't come off. It wiggles a bit side to side if you tap it with a hammer either direction but that's it. I tried pulling straight out and tried using a flat head and a pry bar all the way around the edges.

The other side has a similar cover where the center piece doesn't have two screws and doesn't come off but rather the whole thing can be pried off with a crowbar as one piece but this one has the center piece removable and then when I tried to pry it off after removing that piece, it just started bending.

The lug nuts do not appear to be attached to the cover either. There's a cut out around each lug nut.

It's on a 2000 jamboree rallye RV that we recently purchased.

Here's what the other side looks like that's all one piece and can be pried off

And here's this one that has the center piece removed that we can't pry off.

I just found Halsin dead in my camp.

So I rescued Halsin. He joined my camp but not my party. A few nights in a row I talked to him, flirted a bit as one does when they want the bear D.

I moved on to the shadowy area in act 2. Met the villagers, fought off Marcus. Then here's where I think the mess up might've happened. I'm trying to do almost everything this playthrough and I realized I missed a few small things so I actually traveled back to act 1 and was doing some stuff around the mushroom folk and a few other things that probably took a couple hours just really exploring every nook and cranny I might've missed. Then I went back to act 2, back to the shadow village and then went back to my camp to speak to Halsin to let him know we'd arrived and to hopefully kick off Thaniels quest.

Only Halsin was lying on my campground, dead. Couldn't revive with a scroll, withers doesn't give the option, and speak to the dead did nothing but allow me to ask who he was and where was his treasure.

Now I'm disheartened because if the mess up really did happen when I went BACK to act 1, all those hours I spent trying to complete everything was a waste. But if I just continue on without him, that means I still won't be able to complete everything because I won't be able to do Thaniels story. Either way it's depressing.

UPDATE: so I just went back through my saves. He is alive before I go to act 2 the first time. He's alive in my handful of saves inside of act 2. And then my first save when I then went back to Act 1, he's not even in my camp. Skip forward and all through the subsequent Act 1s and he is missing. And then the first save back in to Act 2 the second time, he is dead which is when I initially found him the first time.

Which means I gotta go back to before I went to act 2 the first time when he's alive again and lose about 5 hours of game play 🙃

SECOND UPDATE: it took me about an hour to catch back up to every thing I had done in act one cause I was speed running and knew exactly what I wanted to do. Just entered Act 2 and Halsin is alive and well. No plans to go back to Act 1 so he better stay that way lol

I cannot scratch the itch because my skin is still numb!!

You guys ever hear those stories about how those folks get too high and are convinced there's bugs crawling in their skin so they rip their skin off? I kinda imagine this is how they feel.

This has been driving me nuts all day. My top surgery was in November. However I still have a bunch of numb skin along my scars and back under my armpits and onto my back.

All day today, I keep getting this itchy sensation along one of my scars but scratching it has no effect because I can't feel it 😭 I know it's a sign of nerve regrowth for it to be itching and that's a good thing but it's driving me crazy.

Ive tried patting/slapping it.

I've tried scratching all around it.

I've tried massaging it.

I've tried rubbing all over with a towel (idk what that was supposed to accomplish but it kinda made me feel better lmao)

I've tried a hot shower (again idk but I was desperate)

This is killing me 😂😂 I feel like I wanna rip my skin off. Anyone else experience this or have a solution or do I just have to suffer?

On an RV, do you ground your solar panel frames to the chassis?

I've tried searching and I'm getting a lot of conflicting answers. The main two reasons I'm seeing are static electricity build up while driving and then lightning. I'm not too worried about lightning cause that's gonna mess stuff up no matter what, but I do have tiltable panels so I guess static electricity might be a concern if I were to go up there and touch something? But like.. it's just static electricity? It can't be much more than a regular static shock, right?

I'm seeing a small handful of comments on other posts that say you absolutely MUST ground them to the chassis but I also see a lot of others saying not to bother.

I also posted on a Facebook group asking this same question and 99% of the replies said they either never even heard of this or never bothered.

So are the folks saying not to bother, being negligent? Or does it really not matter?

Chicken Chicken isn't 24 hours anymore

Just a heads up I guess. We live like a block away and would often walk down to grab some food late at night since we're night shift folks. The past few times we've walked down they have been closed even though they still have 24 hour signs. Checked their Google hours today and this is what it says.

The newer location down the street is still showing 24 hours on Google but I haven't verified it myself yet.

RIP to another 24 hour restaurant.

Is 375w panels too much for an RV?

I'm still in the beginning/learning/planning phase of diy solar and I'm trying to learn how to do an RV.

My local market place has a few 375w panels for what seems like a really good deal to me but I noticed most videos and threads I've been seeing have been either 100w or 200w panels. Is there a reason why I shouldn't use 375w panels? Sorry if this is a dumb/obvious question.
