Sleep schedule/moms on call

Question for anyone who follows this: we’ve been loosely trying as our baby kinda has had the schedule already minus the 7:30pm bedtime. We usually do bath around 8pm if we are doing it that night and now in bed by 9pm.

Last night we did this, she had her one bottle of the day around 8:30-45 and was in bed by 9-9:15. One feed middle of the night around 3:50-4 am and she is still sleeping now at 8:15am. Should I wake her up to start the schedule over, should I let her sleep? Is this a sign we should put her to bed earlier?

She is 10 weeks old today! She feeds every 2-3 hours during the day and sometimes between like 3-7pm it’s every hour 😅. Any help or insight is appreciated.

Going back to work

Ok talk to me about how you handled this! Going back to work in a couple weeks but max away from home would be probably 4 hours at a time. She’s still nursing about every 2 hours during the day. I have a decent stash from when I was triple feeding in the early days, but also going away from her in August for 3 days and want to try and save plenty for that.

Has anyone been in the same boat? I used to get a bunch pumping in the AM but that’s slowed down. I pump 2x/day now for bottles throughout the day but not getting any extra. Should I think about adding in formula to save the stress? I’m so nervous ugh.

ETA: she is 9 weeks old now, will be 12 weeks when I go back

Using both Nuna & Doona

We have the nuna triv and pipa urban travel system and were given the doona as a gift. I didn’t realize the doona has a base, the nuna is baseless. Does anyone have both and use them interchangeably? Should I put the base on one side of my car and leave the other side open for when I use the nuna? Trying to figure out how to utilize both when I want so any help would be appreciated!

Witching hour ?

Baby is 8 weeks and for what feels like the past week and a half between the hours of 5-8pm she can’t be anywhere but on the boob. Cries when she’s off, can’t seem to get enough, etc. Is this witching hour?? It’s exhausting.

She was born at 37 and small but steadily gaining so I can’t be mad I’m just tired and wondering if this is going to continue for a long time 😅

How long did you wait

For the next baby? I just had my first, induced at 37 weeks because the growth slowed in the abdomen toward the end. Small baby but not other complications! Easy delivery and no tears. I’m 34 and don’t reallllly want to wait 12-18 months to start trying again. We only want 2 and of course hoping it would happen as quickly as the first.

I know I should heal and all that, so please feel free to tell me I’m being crazy!

Supply dip in the evening?

I’m wondering if I have a supply dip in the evening? My LO is 8 weeks today and early am 1-3am until about 4-5pm she feeds perfectly. Eats til full and then falls asleep but as soon as it hits the later afternoon it feels like she’s constantly latching and unlatching. How can I tell if my supply is dipping or she’s just cluster feeding? Seems to have been happening for the past week.

For reference too I pump after my morning feed between 8-10am for about 9 min and get 4.5-5.5oz, just enough for her bottle before bed and then some. When I pump around 9pm (when she gets that bottle from my husband) I’m only getting maybe 2oz.

Any advice/thoughts?

Working out/supply

I am just getting back on my workout grind and am a bit worried about my supply. Probably a dumb question but how will I know if my supply is affected? Any advice for keeping calories up but dropping a couple pounds?

In truth I don’t have that much to lose I’m just softer than I was. I work in fitness though so getting back to a little bit of what I used to be is really important for my mental health, trying to get dressed right now is harder than I thought.

Thank you all!!

Spectra wearable cups

Does anyone have recs for wearable cups for the s2? I haaaate having to change my bra to pump throughout the day.

Also on my flanges I’m 16 on one side and 14 on the other. It seems harder to find more flanges for wearable cups would 15s suffice? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Clothes?

Wanting to start venturing out a bit more with baby and will have to nurse in public potentially (nervous about that). I bought a nursing cover from solly but what are you all wearing to make this easier while also looking cute? Is that impossible? Trying to dress for this new chapter is already stressful 😅 thank you!!

3 1/2 weeks old and need advice

Baby was born late preterm, 37 weeks and 4.9lbs. When she first came home gaining weight was an issue so we did 2 hour feeds, I bf for 10 min, then pumped while husband gave a bottle to supplement. Went great and she gained past her hospital weight and now over a week ago we were above 5 pounds. I’ve been trying to ebf during the day, pump a couple times, and then my husband bottle feeds breast milk twice during the ~9pm-1am shift so I can sleep and then pump around the 1am feed. I bf around 4/7am and so on. Today and yesterday it seems like I’m just not giving her enough, we switched from football hold to cradle and my nipples are so sore and I’ve been trying to better the latch. I guess looking for advice/encouragement? Should I just have her on the boob all day when she’s wanting it? Should I go back to bottle feeding supplement during the day so she does continue to gain? Should I call my pedi/LC instead of being here? lol.

If anyone has words of advice or been in a similar situation I would love to hear 🤍 thank you so much.

Late preterm baby, 3 weeks old

Hi! FTM and had my baby a little over 3 weeks ago. She came home at 4.3 and is now over 5lbs. She’s starting to have a little longer of a wake window in the morning and I feel so bad putting her back in the bassinet right away (unless she’s super sleepy). I’ve tried the koalacare carrier that’s supposed to be for small babies and felt uneasy about having her in it so took her out after about 2 minutes. Is it too soon to have her in one? Is there a better option out there for smaller babies?

Any advice would be so appreciated!
