Why? Why always me?? 🥲

I ordered "Realme Buds Air 8 Pro" from myntra and I got "Realme Buds Air 8". After talking with them, they are just on one repeated reply "after through investigation, the delivered product from our side is correct" even when I got downgraded variant of the product.

I opened infront of the delivery person and he also acknowledge that I got wrong product, and I also confronted him but as always delivery person can't do anything go to customer care. And they are on repeat replying. I even mailed there grievance officer and still that same reply.

I am leaving online shopping from now on. Even reputated and trusted e-commerce started this kinda scam/fraud.

I did a credit card cashback on my sbi simplyclick card but I know it is India and cashback is useless here.

I lost 3.5k in this transaction.

Now that i lost air 8 deal, do suggest me earbuds.

I lost the realme air 8 deal of pop upi where I was gonna get it for 1750rs. So now if I am gonna spend more money, I will go for better options for my use case.

I have samsung galaxy s25 ultra phone

I was using realme air 6 pro but now they are dying, so it's time to put it to rest and get a new one.

Do recommend me best option available for me around 5k budget.

What happens when you cycle through companies every 90 to 120 days

As time mentions, I am curious what happens when we circle porting to one operator to another every 3-4 months.

I know about 90 days lock in period before porting, taking that into consideration if we can do a 84 days recharge and then do 28 days one after 90 days (84days recharge days + 6 non recharge days) then on 27th day of 28 recharge, generate the upc code to port.

And we cycle it like

VI -> JIO -> AIRTEL -> VI -> JIO -> AIRTEL.....

Has anyone tried this before?

Benifit: get frc discount every time you port.

Limitation: Need to do kyc everytime you port.

Reused number issues 🥲

I got two vi number, one from free pool and one from paid pool (paid one was 8550rs) but I got it only for 250rs by bundling them into postpaid family plan which cost me 701+ gst so around 860₹.

Now the issues comes with free pool number, as we all know free pool numbers are mostly reused numbers. I also got a reused number. The previous owner was Nitish Kumar of Haryana.

Now I am getting lom recovery agent, pre-made accounts on app (spotify, sonyliv, jiohostar, etc). I think I have to drop that number pretty soon. Right now I have just turn it off.

The main issue is that I got paid number for 250rs cause I have taken it as a bundle plan but now if I close one number, I may need to pay full for that paid number. Is there any workaround or do I have to endure it for 4 months?

If anyone has any solution to this, do tell me.

Need a second sim

Guys, I am in delhi (shahdara). And what a second sim card (no need for data, only voice) and I selected vi to get a number of my choice.

I heard many saying that vi provide some free recharge or some kind of gift but I am unable to find it anywhere.

Is it just a rumor or just promotions which are over?

Do suggest me if these are still running.

Note: I want a specific pattern number, that's the main reason for me to choose vi, I may port to jio if vi does not work out for me.

Ok time for Progress Report - 2

Progress Report - 1

I got to know about coolify while searching to automate reverse proxy and ssl certificates. Now I have integrated that into my project by making it the main controller (self hosting coolify on oracle free tier).
I have divided the services into 2 parts:

  1. Core Infrastructure: as name says it contains the main infrastructure services which are authentik and headscale for now.
  2. Web-Services: It is the main services that will be shown to public which includes my club introduction, my potfolio, journal, and many other that I will keep on adding in the future.

I have to terminate oracle instances 2 times (well last time it was oracle which terminated it at thier end as I messed up too badly, well first time for me.)

I have completed setting up the coolify, and authentik successfully.

My next step is to setup headscale, then connect it to opnsense through tailscale client and atlast set-up navidrome and nextcloud.

I finally decided on my network architecture.

https://preview.redd.it/kgl9yyrmno8h1.png?width=1093&format=png&auto=webp&s=e9c8a6f78e595df775595ec10e27c50a291a89a7

I finally took the plunge. After weeks of planning, researching, and saving up, I’m building my first proper homelab.

I’m writing this partly to document my own sanity, but mostly because I want to share the actual journey. You see a lot of "perfect" tutorials online, but you rarely see the failures, the workarounds, and the duct-tape solutions required to actually make things work in the real world. That’s what this blog is going to be about.

The Master Plan (What I actually want to do)

I didn’t just want a server sitting in my room spinning its fans; I had five very specific goals:

  1. A Public Portfolio: A clean, fast website to showcase my CV and projects.
  2. This Blog: A place to document my tech journey—the massive failures, the late-night debugging sessions, and the eventual wins.
  3. A Game Server: A dedicated server (mostly Minecraft) for me and my friends.
  4. Private Cloud Storage: Taking my data back from Big Tech.
  5. Private Music Streaming: Self-hosting my own FLAC collection.

The Arsenal (The Hardware)

I poured basically my entire budget into the compute power to make sure this thing lasts me for years:

  • The Server: Sudobox Mini-PC. This thing is a little beast. It’s rocking an AMD Ryzen 7 7345HS (with the Radeon 780M iGPU), 24GB of DDR5 4800MHz RAM, and a 2TB Kingston NV3 NVMe SSD.
  • The Switch: TP-Link TL-SG108E (8-port managed switch for network segmentation).
  • The Cloud: Oracle Cloud Free Tier (ARM Ampere instances).

The Roadblocks (Where reality hit me)

Having great hardware is fun until you try to connect it to the internet. I hit several walls almost immediately:

  1. The CGNAT Trap: My ISP (Comway) has me locked behind a Carrier-Grade NAT. I have no public, static IPv4 address.
  2. No IPv6 Rescue: I called my ISP asking for an IPv6 address to bypass the CGNAT. Their response? "We haven't launched that yet." Great.
  3. Locked-down ISP Router: The router provided by my ISP is heavily restricted and doesn't support VLANs at all.
  4. The "Family Uptime" Rule: I plan on tinkering and breaking things constantly. Because of that, I absolutely cannot use a custom firewall for the entire house. If I take down the Wi-Fi while experimenting, my family will end me.
  5. I am officially broke: The Sudobox ate the budget. I have exactly ₹1.5k (which I had to beg my parents for) left to buy a second-hand router to sit behind my ISP's modem just so I can do basic routing.

The Architecture: How I'm Pulling This Off

Since I can't open ports on my home network, I had to get creative. Enter the Hybrid Cloud / Zero Trust Architecture.

Instead of fighting my ISP, I’m using my Oracle Cloud Free Tier account as my public face.

  • Instance 1 (The Gateway): This runs an Nginx Reverse Proxy and a Headscale (Tailscale) controller. Nginx handles the public web traffic for my Portfolio and this Blog, serving them directly from the cloud.
  • Instance 2 (The Playground): A separate instance strictly dedicated to our Minecraft server.

The On-Premises Setup: Back at my house, the Sudobox is running Proxmox. To keep my family's internet safe, OPNsense is virtualized and acts strictly as a firewall for my server VMs, not the physical house. It sits on an isolated virtual bridge (vmbr1). Behind that virtual firewall sit my Nextcloud (Cloud Storage) and Navidrome (Music Streaming) VMs.

Connecting the two worlds: Because my home server is trapped behind CGNAT, it reaches out to the Oracle Cloud instance and establishes an encrypted WireGuard mesh tunnel via Headscale.

Now, when I'm on the bus and want to listen to my music, I just open the VPN app on my phone. It authenticates with Oracle, dives through the encrypted tunnel straight through my ISP's CGNAT, past my virtual OPNsense firewall, and connects to my Navidrome VM.

No port forwarding, no static IPs, and 100% free software.

Next up on the blog: The absolute headache of setting up Proxmox virtual bridges and getting OPNsense to play nice with a single physical NIC. Stay tuned.

Got 19gb of songs......

Idk it will take this much space.

Got total 614 tracks, from which

  1. Flac tracks = 492

  1. Opus tracks = 122 (121 dolby Atmos, 1 normal)

They took a total of 18.97gb \~ 19gb of space. Now I am gonna be out of space pretty soon 😭.

Why the fck phone manufacturer removed sd slot, now I know why ppl curse them over this so much.

Ps: Deja Vu for those who saw this post on r/iems
