Why oh why do I want to be a paramedic?

Hey! I’m 17, and all I really want to do is study paramedicine.
I don’t really know how to put it into words, but the idea of becoming a paramedic excites me just as much as it terrifies me. It feels like something I genuinely, really want to do. There’s just something about it that feels so special and amazing to me.
But whenever I tell an adult, whether they work in healthcare or not, that I want to become a paramedic, I almost always get the same response:
“Are you sure?”
Then comes the list: it’s really hard to get a job, there’s a lot of trauma, the burnout rate is high, the hours are difficult, the pay isn’t amazing, etc. It often feels like they’re trying to convince me not to do it rather than helping me figure out whether it’s actually right for me.
So I want to ask the people who are actually paramedics:
Were you genuinely happy with your decision to become a paramedic?
Did you ever feel this excited about it before you started? And now that you’re actually in the job, does it still feel like something you’re glad you chose?
I’m not looking for people to sugarcoat it. I want to hear about the difficult parts too. I just want to hear from people who have actually lived it, rather than another list of reasons I shouldn’t do it.

Should I take it out?

Does this angle look concerning? The angle doesn’t bother me too much, but if it means I won’t be able to heal it properly or wear certain jewellery in it, I would prefer to take it out now and let it heal over. It’s only four days old.
Also is the bruising normal? The purple?
4 days old
Titanium flatback
No downsizes yet
Slept on it once by accident lol

Tips and tricks for self-piercing?

Wanting to pierce myself (ears, nose, navel, )as it’s is preferable to having to pay $90 to get it done. I truly believe that it will not get it infected. I know how to sterilise and sanitise things. I have been to a “professional ” piercer and saw them sanitise badly. Knew that it was bad and got an infection. I KNOW I can do better lol.

I want all your hard earned tips and tricks, best tools and any other advice.

Stealing as a Christian

I’m a kleptomaniac. And it gets worse with stress. I have managed to keep from stealing for almost 3 months I had opened up to someone in my life, I donated all that I stole, and repented for my sin. But I’m aware that to repent must be with the intention to not commit the sin again. And I didn’t… for awhile.
Now life’s the worst it’s ever been. I’ve started stealing again. I don’t know what to do with the goods I take. I never need any of it. I can’t return it, most can’t be donated for hygiene reasons. I don’t like to throw it out. I feel I can’t repent because I know that I’m gonna steal again. It’s so hard to stop and idk what to do.

Small but I love! What should I add?

It’s small but I love it. Just 2 things. 1. Is the hoop too big? Online it said for a rook and it’s the right gauge it’s also surgical steel. The rook is 2 years old and this is only the second time I have changed the jewellery. First time trying a hoop. Second what else would you add to my ear?

On a scale of 0 to GO TO THE HOSPITAL! How bad is this?

Pierced 5 months ago with a reusable gun (IK 🙄). I had butterfly backs and they got infected in 2 weeks, I went to a professional piercer and had them changed to long bar flat backs then shorter ones after 2 weeks (titanium). Got the bump 3ish weeks ago and it’s been growing then popping and leaking clear or yellow fluid and blood. Then scabbing and growing again. Now it’s hard hot and ummmm. Looking like this. This is the biggest it’s got. It’s leaking blood and fluid. Ummmm help
