Wetlands tabling ideas for college

Hi! I run a wetlands club at my university and am brainstorming ideas for tabling that are attention-grabbing and educational, but not so academic that it scares people off. So far I have:

  • Dissecting scope with dishes with wetland plants/algae (live animals not allowed)
  • Wetland plants in pots, soft needlerush (Juncus effusus) in water so the full length of its roots can be shown, mangrove propagules
  • Refractometer demonstration with fresh, brackish, and salt water
  • Tools we use in wetland fieldwork (potentially!): quadrat square, mini soil corer, porewater sipper, with demonstrations

I'd love some more suggestions! I feel pretty plant-biased at the moment haha

Am I screwed

Was at 1g for about a year, my other lobe is at 00g with no issues. Tried to dead stretch to 0g a few days ago, took it out to clean, and noticed blood.

Just a tear? Or am I back to my lopsided lobes?

Gap between floor and wall bringing worms and water [FL]

UPDATE:

Maintenance sent someone who said he'd extend the gutter, I had to insist that he look at the gap in the wall and he started mansplaining that mold is in all of us and is normal. Finally he ripped back the carpet showing that the padding underneath it is soaked and the wood is rotted. He said he'd send a carpet cleaner and patch the outside with liquid concrete. I don't think that's going to be enough, so I'm talking to a friend's parent who's a surveyor about what to do next. I contacted a tenant's union asking for help as well. I'm going to get everything they've said and done in writing.

___________________________

This is in one of the bedrooms. The entire outside wall is like this, and under the wall I can feel rotting wood and dirt. This is worm number 3 from today alone. When it rains a puddle forms in the middle of the room where the floor sinks slightly. I submitted a maintenance request including a description and photos, but what else should I do?

How political to get in a grad school email

So this is a really specific question and I know the answer will be "it depends" but...

I'm drafting emails for grad school restoration labs. I strongly feel that restoration is political, specifically in the area I'd like to work in where industry was allowed to do whatever it wanted and now people are suffering the environmental impacts with little to no government assistance. I'm also getting an anthropology minor so my caring about the people and cultural side of restoration shows in my degree. I don't want to come off too strong, but I do want to come off as passionate and informed! Where's the balance?

Museum of Us in San Diego

I'm visiting SD soon and was curious about how ethical the Museum of Us is and if it's worth visiting. It looks like they only recently repatriated a mummified person which concerns me. Have they improved since?

▲ 2 r/Drag

Hi!

I'm in the prep phase of starting drag (wrestling with perfectionism and stage fright that keeps me from Just Starting Already) and I have a couple numbers in mind to slower / dramatic songs.

Should I shy away from something more somber for a bar performance? Is being funny or having a more recognizable song better to start with, or should I not give a damn?

Disclaimer that I know the password for this zip file, but I can't figure out how to enter it.

When I try to unzip the file Windows says "support for the encrypted archive 'my_file' is currently unavailable".

Sorry if this has been answered before, any post I find is someone trying to bypass a password which isn't my issue!
