To All Our Console Vault Dwellers,

We’re excited to welcome you to your first Public Test Server! Starting today, you will be able to test the upcoming XBOX Series and PlayStation 5 (including Pro) update for Fallout 76.

Our goal with this testing period is to obtain live data from all of you to make sure this update is hitting the marks we expect it to hit in terms of FPS and stability.

Here’s what you can expect:

• Targeted 60 FPS across XBOX Series X|S, PS5 and PS5 Pro.
• 4K resolution (on compatible displays) on XBOX Series X, XBOX One X, PS5 Pro.
• VRR (on compatible displays) on Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS5, PS5 Pro.
• PS5 and PS4 Pro will support 1440p while previous generation platforms will continue to support 1080p.

This update brings Fallout 76 to the PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series platforms natively allowing us to utilize the hardware more efficiently today and in the future.

Today serves as a big step towards making sure Fallout 76 feels more comfortable to play on all console hardware.

NOTE: The inclusion of "Improved draw distances and shadows" in previous communications was to highlight the difference between playing on PlayStation 4/ XBOX One versus PlayStation 5/Xbox Series X. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X players are already experiencing improved draw distances and shadows and will continue to do so when this update releases. Sorry for any confusion the inclusion of that note caused.

Accessing the PTS on XBOX Series Platforms

XBOX players will be able to access the PTS through the XBOX Insider Hub. Detailed steps on how to download and install the XBOX Insider Hub can be found on the Microsoft Support Site.

After the XBOX Insider Hub is Installed, open the App and navigate to “Previews” and choose the “Fallout 76 PTS” and select “Join”. From there you should be directed to download the PTS. Once that is over all that’s left is to launch the game and join our Bethesda Studios Discord (more on how to deliver feedback below).

Accessing the PTS on PlayStation Platforms

To access the PTS on PlayStation platforms, please join our Discord Server and follow the instructions in the #76-announcements channel.

Things to Know Before Jumping into the Public Test Server

• We take a snapshot of your characters from the live game for you to use here. You’ll have access to your characters, weapons, armor, items, and C.A.M.P.S, etc.
• The Atomic Shop will NOT be active.
• Seasonal content is NOT active.
• The PTS Locker, found outside Vault 76, often provides easy access to mods, ammo, weapons, etc. based on features we’re looking for your feedback on. We’ll outline in these articles when the locker has been updated and with what.
• Join our Discord server to provide your feedback! The Bethesda Studios Discord is the primary way we review feedback and bug reports on these updates. So, join us and share information about your experience!
• After joining the server, visit #server-roles for the steps to gain access to our PTS channels. 
• Progression made in the PTS does NOT transfer over to the live game.
• Your PTS character progression does not persist in between test cycles. We take a new snapshot of your player before the start of every PTS.
• Lastly, during a PTS you will be testing content that is not final, please understand that you will run into issues and bugs. It’s part of the process. Also, majority of the new content you test is not likely to have been translated yet. So all of our PTS related content is limited to English only.

I just loaded 90 classic kung fu movies onto my server and everyone of them is showing a screenshot rather than a poster. The movie are discovered and correct seeing as it show the descriptions and actors properly but no poster. Even if I click "fix match" and reselect the propoer movie listed first it still won't change.

What am I doing wrong?

Do you keep them in seperate libraries or do you comibine them into one? I have DS918+ and am using hardware transcoding in case that matters.

OS: DSM 7.3.2-86009 Update 3 PMS: 1.43.2.10687-720010687 Hardware: Synology DS918+ with DX517 Expansion Unit

Just rebuilt my PMS and have added 3 libraries: 4K Movies, Movies, and TV Shows. When adding the libraries for 'Movies' and 'TV Shows' it added everything fine. When adding the library for '4K Movies' it will not add any of the movies from the folder. When I click 'scan libary files' it just stays blank. All three folders are in the same parent folder 'Media'.

I have checked the perimission and 'plexmediaserver' user has read/write access to the folder '4K Movies'. So I don't think it is a permission issue.

What am I doing wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated.

The daily's and weeklies show mutated event challenges yet mutated events are not happening. I'm guessing this is an error in the dailies and weeklies?

Edit: according to people on the discord it's not supposed to start until Thursday.

Edit 2: Bethesda has confirmed on the discord that mutated public events were supposed to happen today but are not popping up at the top of the hour and they are looking into it. They said that MPE challenges will soon be disabled.

If you are friends with somebody through trading on this sub and you have not been invited to somebody's private server... STAY OFF OF IT!!!!

You have no right joining someone's private server and running infestations if you have not been invited to do so.

I can't believe this even has to be said!!! But I'm getting irritated with people I have traded with in the past joining my private servers.

Thought I would post this reminder since the new infestations are dropping a lot of serums.

By the time you get there most people have been killed by the one to two players that are already there hammering the enemies. I've tried about eight of them and ended up with one three-star weapon cuz everyone else is dead by the time I get there. And the one time I did get the three star weapon was the time that I found the infestation myself and started it then everyone else came in and slaughtered everyone and I ended up with one three star. That is garbage.

Playing it on a private server is no problem and I can max out my weapon drops and complete the infestation fairly easy. So all you've done Bethesda is, once again, force people out of the community pool and into private servers.

This is just another failed opportunity. I know this will probably be controversial and I will be downvoted for this, but it needs to be said.

I got an error saying bad sectors on one of my drives so obviously it needs to be replaced. My question is when it originally detected that did it back the drive up to the spare blank drive on my hybrid raid and now I can just pull out the bad drive and insert the new one? Or do I need to go into the drive management system in DSM and back it up that way? This is the first time this has happened so I'm not sure what to do.
