Do periods actually sync up when we spend a lot of time together?

Growing up in a household with 3 sisters, this is something I heard CONSTANTLY. I also heard it a lot in tv and movies, but is it a real thing?

I definitely noticed some of our cycles lining up, but it wasn’t all the time, so it makes me wonder if it was just confirmation bias.

If it is real, why does it happen? And why doesn’t it happen with every woman we are around?

What do you wish Sex Ed had taught you?

I’ll go first: I wish they had talked about discharge.

I spent years thinking something was wrong with me because I genuinely didn’t know how my body worked.

I feel like they only told my class the bare minimum. What do you wish they had explained more?

Why do I get cramps when I’m not on my period?

For the last couple of years, I’ve been getting cramps at random times during my cycle.

It doesn’t seem to follow any sort of pattern, and I’m confused because I thought you could only get cramps right before your period or on your period?

Info: I did get the Mirena IUD about 5 years ago. It might be related to that? But I’m not sure why it would only start the last couple of years.

Does anyone else have any experience with this?

Can a doctor tell if you’re a virgin?

Or is that made up?

I had a friend growing up who had parents who would threaten to take her to the doctor to get “checked”.

At the time, I wasn’t sure if that was even a thing, but she was terrified of a doctor telling her parents about what she had done. Thankfully they never went through with it, but i’ve always wondered.

Is there actually a way to do a “virginity” test?

Best Self Improvement Books?

I've read a lot of the classic self help books: Atomic Habits, Power of Habit, etc. And I'm looking for something new to read.

What self help books have changed your life recently?

(they don't need to be new releases necessarily, but I am hoping to find books new to me)

Anyone else embarrassed about falling for AI?

I thought that I was smart enough to spot AI, but it has gotten so convincing.

I saw a viral video of a guy switching between various celebrities and it looked EXACTLY like them. How are they doing this?

Also, is anyone else a little concerned about where this is headed? I’ve already seen some inappropriate  stuff with AI tools and it feels like it’s moving really fast.

I thought I had to be worried about my parents falling for AI, but apparently I need to be worried about me too lol

Women who’ve gotten divorced, what do you wish you knew about finances beforehand?

I feel like when people talk about divorce, they often don’t talk about the financial reality of starting over.

When I got divorced, I knew very little about managing money (building credit, budgeting, investing etc.) My ex took on most of our shared debt, but I still found myself back in debt a couple of years later.

I wish I had known what I know now. I have a friend who is in the early stages of divorce, and she has been asking me for advice.** **

For women who’ve been through divorce, what do you wish you had known?

I typically don’t share bethel interviews here, but Krystal’s experience at bethel was truly disturbing. Her and her brother David were a part of the Bethel’s worship community. She talks about the racism she experienced at bethel, as well as being told to not post about Black Lives Matter.

I’d love to hear if anyone had any similar experiences, or just any other problematic bethel stories as well.

I saw a wild clip where someone was saying that it is a "problem" that 15-19 year olds are waiting to have children. His main 3 reasons were that they were:

  1. waiting to be more stable

  2. waiting to be financially independent

  3. haven't met the right person yet

It was crazy to hear him say that this was a "problem". I know the first 2 are a big reason I have been waiting. I don’t feel financially ready yet, and I’ve also really valued having time to just enjoy time with my husband before adding kids into the mix.

It made me curious, why do you think women are waiting to have kids?
