FYI: Already Voted Absentee? You Can Still Change Your Vote.

From the Grand Rapids City Clerk Absentee Voters webpage:

I already voted and returned my absentee ballot, but I may have made an error or changed my mind about how I voted. Can I change my vote?

You may request and vote a replacement ballot. To do this, you need to submit your request in writing with a signature to the City Clerk’s Office by 5 p.m. the Friday before the election (July 31st). Email your request to elections@grcity.us or fax it to 616.456.4607.

The Clerk’s Office is on the second floor of City Hall, 300 Monroe Ave. NW. It’s open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Validated parking is available in the Government Center Ramp off Monroe and Ottawa avenues. The Clerk's office is open the Saturday before the election from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The City Clerk will void your original ballot and issue you a new ballot. All absentee ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Apparently missed too many OT appointments within a year and was discharged.

You're supposed to give them 24 hour notice. I know, I know I should have given the stupid 24 hour notice every single time, but sometimes I was up on the day of and my migraine is horrendous and I can't even drive. This time I have a really bad cold, I'm coughing, sneezing, leaking from my nose and eyes. So I left a message the day before, but it wasn't a full 24 hours so they discharged me. I guess next time I'll come in there and cough all over everyone. I'm so tired. I just can't with these people. I'm just trying to do what I need to do to get better. I could just give up and let myself be in pain and suffering for the next 30 years, but I'm trying. I'm trying so hard, but they give me so little leeway. The while medical system in the US is designed to just make us want to give up and stop spending their money. I'm just can't right now. I'm so upset and depressed.

[Android App] Mod Shield not showing up. [version 2026.25.0]

It's been happening for a while, but an app restart would fix it. Now even that won't work. I just don't have it at all and can't get it to work, at all.

Edit: reinstalling the app fixed it. Still should not have to do that.

My two girls, Parker (grey and white), and Alice (black and white)!

They love to run around and wrestle. Sometimes it drives me crazy! It doesn't matter how much play time and walkies we get, it's still Wrestle Mania in our living room! They are great though! We just adopted Alice about a month ago, and Parker absolutely loves her. They cuddle when they sleep, and play with each other all day, and they're just in love. ❤️

Insurance won't approve any pain meds!

My doctor wanted to give me Qulipta. My insurance let me have it for a month, and it was great. Combined with botox my baseline was almost at 0. Then at the second month they denied it. After my doctor sent multiple prior authorizations, the insurance said I have to fail multiple of these other meds first. Fine. One of them is botox, which I'm already doing, and it actually helps, but only brings my baseline to a 3/4. My doctor decided to prescribe Emgality, which was on the list of medications I had to try before they would let me have qulipta.

I have taken other medications. I had just gotten off the phone with the insurance company when I first typed this so I didn't include that. I've taken topamax, gabapentin, and metoprolol, and sumatriptan.

Now, they won't approve the Emgality. They just called me to tell me they denied the second prior authorization that my doctor sent for the Emgality and they will need to do it again. What the actual hell? Why do they make it so hard? I have a constant migraine that I've had since October last year, and haven't been at a 0 pain wise since then, except when I had the qulipta/botox combo for that one month. Even then, I still got migraines if I got too stressed or anxious, but that was the best it had been since last year. Why???? Why are they doing this????

Meet Alice and Parker. We just adopted Alice a month ago and she is settling in quite well!

Alice is the black and white dog, and Parker is the grey and white dog. They both came from our local county animal shelter, which I love. They are great people who take really good care of their animals.

Alice is about 3, and Parker is about 2. We adopted Parker last year around this same time after our old boy passed away.

Alice is settling in really well, and making friends easily. She and Parker clicked right away. They play and cuddle all the time. Right this minute as I type they are chasing each other around the house. The cats are taking a little longer to accept Alice, but I caught Fury (pictured) sleeping next to her a couple of days ago.
