Surely these guys can't be a bad thing?

This is my first Walstad and first tank since a kid (25L Jar), tank is about two and a half weeks old. At first I found two Bladder Snails hitchhikers which I removed and now these guys. Surely means it's habitable!

Have wanted to try a Walstad for so long, finally got round to starting one! Wish I did it sooner

I certainly regret using the jar for my first build, the mouth being only 17cm made it all super awkward. I didn't even consider the fact it's not a flat botton, but luckily the majority of the plants are actually planted around the outside so they should have some nice depth to root into.

I've watched several videos on this type of setup, but I know they are typically professionals and do this all the time.

I definitely went overboard with the super glue as the frosting is an eye sore, but hopefully a nice layer of algae will take the eye off of it.

Any suggestions welcomed, or things I should expect in the coming days / weeks. All new to me.

Basic Temu 8w light that I've been cycling for 8 hours a day. It's a 25L jar I'm using Aquarian's Tap water safe to dechlorinate.

Tank is now 2 weeks old. I've had two Bladder Snails appear, which I since removed. The Limnophila is doing the best. The rest are... Still on the come up. Really happy with the water clarity. Only when I do a 20% water change (done two now) is when I notice the water is a tad green, but looks great in the jar.

I can't wait to get shrimps in!! That's the goal.

I will be in Chongqing for the Sunday grand final day, does anyone know where I could watch it with others?

Been wanting to try a filterless planted tank for some time now, finally got round to trying it out.

I certainly regret using the jar for my first build, the mouth being only 17cm made it all super awkward. I didn't even consider the fact it's not a flat button, but luckily the majority of the plants are actually planted around the outside so they should have some nice depth to root into.

I've watched several videos on this type of setup, but I know they are typically professionals and do this all the time.

The final picture is 36 hours later and I've performed one 20% water change since the penultimate picture. The Limnophila heterophylla are now standing on their own, everything looks good, just the clarity of the water isn't quite there but I hope this will balance out.

I definitely went overboard with the super glue as the frosting is an eye sore, but hopefully a nice layer of algae will take the eye off of it.

Any suggestions welcomed, or things I should expect in the coming days / weeks. All new to me.

Obviously HIM aren't a Doom band, however. The segment 3/4's in to their song 'Venus Doom' is beautiful.

Go 2:50 if you can't handle listening to the whole track.

Been a HIM fan for a while, and a lot newer to Doom, so I never really noticed this, but damn. Groovy AF.

WORLD PEACE lore anyone?

Anyone able to give insight on why they use so much Christian references or any other interesting info?

Musically and aesthetically I think they're the coolest band going. But would like to learn more about them.

Bands like Mask that make you want to dance like no one's watching?

As titled.

Been grooving to Mask all morning at work but their discography just isn't big enough.

I want hard and heavy with those brutal vocals, but groovy also! Any suggestions?

And if you've not listened to Mask, you must!!

Let's talk achievable grails. I'm in the market for one or two bangers.

I'm currently in the market to pick up one or two grails. I'm talking the best of the TCG. English or Japanese. PSA 9 or 10. Under £4000

So far I'm thinking shining gyarados, Corocoromew or expedition Mewtwo.

What comes to mind when you think of achievable grails? Because there are so many cards out there, it's easy to forget.

But then also, I'm worried because Corocoro Mew for example, has absolutely rocketed in the last year, is this just the new price or do I wait for the cool off period? (May not even be a substantial saving if I do wait)

New to this sub, am I allowed to post technical footwear pics actually in the field? Or only in coffee shops?

Was after a low cut hiking companion for my feet, even though I love my TNF Hedgehogs, just fancied something a bit better. Opted for the Vans Goretex MTE Crosspath. Have only tested them in the dry, but liking them so far!

I want 1 hiking outfit that goes super hard. All black. Technical. Basically a ninja.

As titled. I'm looking for a go-to hiking outfit that makes me look super fucking cool.

Any advice on pieces? Or visual inspiration?

It has to be black. I'm UK based. I'm an awkward size. Mostly s/xs and short leg.

I'm not sure if I should go more pocket-y Vs minimal.

I'm considering Nike ACG Cargos. Some sort of clean & minimal shell up top over a long sleeve sweat wicking active wear style shirt.

Open to suggestions and input.
