Apple need to support multiple AppleIDs on Vision Pro

I've owned a Vision Pro now for 7 months. There is no way this device will work until Apple support multiple Apple ID logins. Yes I know all about optical insets and custom face masks. It is bullshit. Guest mode allows users to experience 10% of what the device offers. Until you can show it off to other people, no one will buy it at ~3500.

I cannot even show my family how cool the device is. C'mon Apple don't just kill the product because "it didn't work in the market" without at least fixing the "demonstration factor".

I just played with a Steam Frame owned by a friend who brought it over. We logged out of his account, and logged into mine. Suddenly we're trying all my old VR games. This openness now makes me want one. He left not wanting an AVP.

This is the *most* import feature the product could have.

So got 2 6000 Pro Max-Q…

I have a Threadripper w/128gb of system ram. I want to serve a small dev team. What should I be running as a coding harness? Seems GLM, Deepseek R4, Qwen next are all with in reach, and I still could stick with 27b BF16 (current choice). I would prefer vision as it’s a useful capability.

All of those mentioned need quantising in some way on two cards so how bad is it? I’m running VLLM as a host so any magic recipes also much appreciated!

Retrobat controller settings seem unstable

Hi Everyone, sorry if this has been asked a hundred times but I am pulling what little hair I have out trying to get Retrobat's inputs stable. I have quite a few controls, so I realise I am making it hard on myself, but there seems to be a general unstableness to configuration.

I'm running

  • Retrobat latest 8.2.1-Win64 - on Windows 11, latest NVidia drivers
  • Dell Precision Workstation 3660 w/ 3060 8gb card
  • Two EG STARTS SANWA STYLE Arcade JoyStick USB Encoder Fightstick 1up EG-5V-R/MIX-BUT - with 10 buttons wired in 8 player, Coin, and start
  • Two 8bitDo arcade sticks with 2.4Ghz networking
  • Two Sindel Lightguns
  • one Pedal
  • a Dolphin adapter with 3 Wiimotes
  • a 6 button streamdeck.

All of this works outside of Retrobat. In Retrobat, it tends to start working, then I'll run somethiing that needs Mame64 not Libretro (which seems pretty flakey) - e.g. Time Crisis. Sometimes the gun and pedal will work. Then it will stop after a few things. The arcade stick buttons don't always seem to remember what I told them to do. I can turn off large amounts of the controllers and reboot, and everything will still be wrong. I'll fight it and things will work and then they won't.

Is this what happens to others?

Any help or suggestions much appreciated!

Does the DGX Station actually exist as a shipping product yet?

I have read a lot of PR pieces in the press, seen it listed for sale on various websites but even given its enormous price, I am surprised not to find a single person write a review or post a video with a system.

I know this hardware is pretty exotic but is it actually still unshipped vapourware?

If not can anyone tell me what it is like and point me in the right direction to learn more…

Ultimarc I-PAC Ultimate maximum power draw?

I have one of these, and trying to work out how to power it best.

I cannot seem to find how much power including the 2 1A drivers, all LEDs etc would take? I read on one page there are actually 6 1A drivers. So assuming .02A per led * 96 = 1.92A plus 2 A = 3.92. A sata connector can provide 4.5A so should be enough. However if there are 6 this jumps to 7.92 which is too much for that source. Does anyone know?

GB10 vs MacBook Pro M5 Max 128Gb

So now the dust has settled and both products are in the market. Which one actually wins on inference, including prompt processing for long >32K prompts? Has anyone got any hard numbers on Qwen 27B-Q8? The M5 Max claimed to have 4x prompt processing speeds over older designs. It has >2x the memory bandwidth of the GB10. They are both quite closely priced, GB 10 being cheaper, but with no screen or keyboard plus linux desktop so smaller choice of applications.

I'd love to know, as most threads have turned into "nVidia wins because Cuda" or "M3 Ultra makes many more tokens per second". Both these arguments are spurious to me as Cuda seems to offer little practical benefit to someone wanting to just run a model - my Linux PC screwed up its drivers when I added a Blackwell card to it, and MLX/Llama.cpp both run fine on a M3 Ultra. I can say the Blackwell is much faster than the M3 Ultra, but with much less memory (why we ended up with both).

The GB10 and the MacBook Pro M5Max seem like a fairer fight...
