Camping gear - Hardigg med chests
So i scored 4 old med chests off marketplace and moved away from my rubbermaid tubs with zip tied lids, best upgrade ever. i use one of the smaller ones for dry food, raccoons are certainly not getting in these!

Found a solution to carrying water. The can is annoy but carryout of this can is still lighter than carrying a gallon of water. This is the only brand I have found out there. Anyone know about how it tastes?

I took time off work to go solo backpacking in the Big Horns. Was going to climb cloud peak, but 8 miles in this happened...These are brand new. I broke them in but that's about it. They are The North Face Hedgehog 3 Mid WP - So no one else has my experience. I ended up gathering a bunch of pitch/pine sap and slathering it on the sole, then haphazardly tied up with paracord. It actually worked great until my second moose sighting. The first moose encounter, a bull and cow, they were indifferent of me. The second sighting was a cow and a calf, they were right on the trail...and she was not happy I was there. I didn't want to test them so I went WAY around through a marsh. When I did that it rendered my pine sap useless and stretched out the paracord. So that point on I had to stop every half a mile to mile and re-tie.
I contacted The North Face, they wanted me to fill out a warranty claim but it looks like all they'd do is an exchange or a return. I can do that at the retailer that I bought them from so I won't be doing that. I don't think I will ever buy their boots again. I didn't notice but they aren't even stitched, it's literally just glue holding them together. I hadn't even gotten them wet yet! I got a TNF pack and I love it, hasn't failed me yet, I've had other gear of theirs and seems to last a long time so this was comparing enough for me to make this post cause it severely limited me; honestly could have broke my ankle or worse.
I had a hell of a harrowing trip as it was. I got sick on the drive out, and I ended up shooting right up to the trailhead and out very fast. Got a bit of altitude sickness on top of whatever cold I already had. I had a crazy adventure by myself though, I would love to document and write about it if anyone is interested, not sure if this is the place to do that or not. It was a lot of overcoming adversity. An amazing trip regardless, I was the only one out there for MILES. And that's what I sought, solitude.
While searching the web for flashlights that might catch my interest, I came across this one.

It would be suitable to keep in the glove compartment or a similar spot in your vehicle as an emergency backup flashlight.
It would also prove useful in situations where restoring the power grid after a natural disaster takes a long time.
Since it relies on capacitor storage, it is not designed for prolonged use.
Been trying to sharpen this gerber strong arm for the longest time with a belt sander/whetstones. Every time I try, I can never get the edge to be actually sharp. I feel like I keep dulling the edge as I’m sharpening it but I don’t know how to fix it. Not sure if it’s an angle problem or a whetstone/ equipment problem. Any sharpening tips?
I think I charged my wurkkos past 60% (what I saw recommended for safe storage) is there an easy way to tell battery level? It just shows red until it’s done lol
(Maryland, USA) To preface, I don't know how or why, but I have yet to discover any ticks embedded in my body. But I have collected *dozens* of identical ticks over the past 2mo or so from inside my tent (plus one larger, dark with pale pattern on the back one).
The only reasonable assumption I can make is that on some black day I inadvertently carried a pregnant tick into my tent.
Generally uniform, though sometimes ranging in size from a bit larger to almost indistinguishablly small, they are all clearly reddish ticks. Round, flat, teardrop-shaped body; eight legs; slow, deliberate gait.
While I seem to be able to find them on pretty much anything in my tent, I have only found unusually high concentrations of them in one or two spots: on plastic bags that have since been thrown out, and just tonight on one edge of the plastic container lid I use as a neat, flat surface kinda like a nightstand, atop which was the plastic bag where I initially noticed them. It was discarded weeks ago, and noticeable ticks dealt with. According to the complete lack of ant trails, my tent still has no improper holes in it.
Again, I do not know why I haven't seen any ticks parasitising me despite having been sharing a tent with them for many weeks now. And yes I have of course checked.
[Second edit: OH I MEANT TO REPORT THIS AS WHAT SEEMS TO BE A BUG I HAVE NO REASON TO BELIEVE THIS IS THE APP FUNCTIONING AS INTENDED]
[Edit: Still works just fine on PipePipe.]
I was running 0.28.6 and the last thing I downloaded as audio-only was a few days ago. I attempt to do so today, and confirming on a video I already downloaded audio from, the option to do so no longer appears for any video. Naturally, I then updated to 0.28.7, but that has not fixed the issue.
As much as I would like to be able to financially contribute to artists whose music I like, I am not in a position to be able to do so, so this is primarily how I listen to music.
It's been rainy the past several days and I just discovered that even my *watch band* is now rather moldy.
For example, Sarah Briggs.
[Edit: Why tf is this getting actual engagement this was a stupid satire post in response to someone asking if Davis and Droz were gay.]

I'm extremely reluctant to leave the door open, as there are traces of food inside, and I do not (yet) have any ant or full blown rodent infestation. My resources are fairly limited.

Apparently this show is well liked, so I gave it a try.
