Sample demographics in methods section or results section of manuscript?

I’ve seen it both ways. Are there any guidelines on where sample demographics should be reported in a qualitative research manuscript in APA - methods or results?

Redemption of e-gift cards with Blue Rewards no longer eligible for bonus redemption points?

I used to redeem my Air Miles for e-vouchers during the 20% bonus redemption events so that I would get the extra points. Since the transition to Blue Rewards, redemption of points for e-gift cards has been excluded from receiving bonus redemption points. Super annoying. Has anyone heard anything about this?

Suggestions for an office chair for petite person in a tiny space?

I’m barely 5’ and have a work from home space in a tiny nook in my kitchen. Any suggestions for an ergonomic chair that can tuck under a low profile desk- maybe something with no arms or arms that flip up? I’m in Canada. Thanks in advance!

How to raise Besta Burs desk?

I’m in a small space and my desk chair arms are too high to fully tuck under my Besta Burs desk when not in use. Buying another chair with no arms or arms that flip up isn’t an option. Any thoughts on how to raise the desk by 2 inches? The bar at the bottom prevents use of standard furniture risers. And adding a long piece of wood wouldn’t look good. Any other ideas?

What would you have done in this situation?

I posted a 55” tv for $175 firm. Got a ton of interest and realized it would’ve sold for more. But I honored the price for the first person to confirm. I lugged the heavy tv to our meet up spot. They show up and try to talk me down to $160. I said price was listed as firm. They refuse to take it for the selling price. I ended up giving in and selling for $160 because it would’ve been a hassle to lug it back home and do it all again for another buyer. I’m so annoyed.

Resale value for 50” Vizio LED TV?

I purchased a 50” Vizio D50f-F1 SmartCast 1080p LED TV in 2020. It works perfectly except for the region-locked smart features in Canada. I’m looking to sell it. What would a reasonable asking price be (CAD)?

Are true HEPA filters necessary for effective home air purifiers?

I purchased a Levoit Core 200-s air purifier for my small bedroom. I live in Canada and rushed to purchase it to reduce the wildfire smoke. I didn’t do enough research and just realized it does not have a true HEPA filter. Does this make much of a difference? Should I return it and get an air purifier with a true HEPA filter. My budget is flexible.

PC Optimum refusing to reimburse points

There is currently an in-store promotion to purchase Apple AirPods 4 ($199) by redeeming 130,000 points, which is a $69 value (+ tax). Instead of giving me this promotion, the cashier at Shoppers Drug Mart gave me the redemption event promotion, which is 150,000 points + $10 + tax. So I ended up using $150 in points plus $10 cash instead of $130 in points total. This is a $30 difference in price. I called customer service and to request the 20,000 points be added back to my account and they refused - even though it was the cashier’s error. I returned to Shoppers and they said all they can do is refund the purchase by issuing a $150 gift card, which means I would lose all those points. This is a ridiculous and unfair policy. Any suggestions?

Wildfire smoke inside condo units?

I woke up to a strong smell of wildfire smoke inside my condo unit and sore throat. My windows have been closed. It seems to be coming through the vents. Any other condo units experiencing this? I thought there was a way for the ventilation system to recirculate and not pull air from outside but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Remember the 90s rave scene?

From 1992 to 1995 I went to a rave every single Saturday night. We’d start at Play De Record to get flyers and tickets. Then walk over to Union or Nathan Phillips Square where a school bus would pick us up and drive to an undisclosed location. Usually some underground parking lot or warehouse. The coolest community, friends, style, music, dancing until dawn. No phones, no Internet, no social media. What a time to be a teen in Toronto.

Any hair stylists who specialize in grey blending?

I’m (almost) ready to embrace my grey hair. I have naturally dark brown hair and a lot of grey. I have to colour my roots every 3 weeks and get a harsh regrowth line. It’s a losing battle. I’m looking for someone who specializes in grey blending. Expert level preferred. Midtown Toronto but willing to travel. Any recommendations?

When would pension buy back not be the right move?

I (49 yrs) have been contributing to DB pension for 19 years (fluctuating between part-time and full-time hours). I have the option to buy back an additional 5 years of pensionable service. I was quoted $189,000. I have sufficient funds in non-registered investments to cover this or could pull from RRSPs. My RRSP contribution room is limited. My other registered accounts are maxed. No debt. Would there be any circumstances where buy back wouldn’t be the best financial decision?
