Narcolepsy, chronic fatigue?
Edit: I’m a male. 33yo
Since I was a teenager in high school, no matter how much I slept, I was always brutally exhausted. I would fall asleep in math class and get sent to detention, but I literally could not help it. I would come home from school, dragging my feet and all of those things still happen today. A little bit of background, I had a rough childhood and still struggle from stress, anxiety, and depression. I also have some pretty bad ADD. I had a sleep study done years ago and they said they think I’m narcoleptic and tried a few medicines, and ended up using the one that they said is in the “date rape drug “. With that medicine, I would often wake up while on it and feel extremely funky, and I hated it. And it didn’t help.
Fast-forward a few years, I saw a new doctor and I had an additional sleep study done. Both doctors said I fall to an REM sleep within like seven minutes. She, after everything was set and done, said she believes it’s from anxiety and stress, depression, and diagnosed me with chronic fatigue syndrome.
With a family, two kids, and one on the way, I’m struggling. Some days I feel like all I can do is lay in bed and when I get up, I have absolutely zero energy. I also suffer from brain fog, and my memory sucks. When something awesome happens that makes me very happy, I sometimes feel totally energized. But that is rare. Today, I feel like I have nothing in me and I’m fighting with everything I have not to lay back down. I don’t have sleep attacks or cataplexy. But I’m miserable and I desperately need Answers.
Is anyone else going through similar? Does anyone have any advice? I do take Vybriid for anxiety and depression, but it doesn’t do much for me.
