Italian American here. Gli Azzurri have been avenged.

Started to get flashbacks after the red card.

How do I fix sticky numbers?

The back of this shirt sticks to every surface and the black rubs off. Pretty sad state.

One last boom.

Mateta scores the winning goal in the Conference League Final to end this beautiful era of Crystal Palace football.

We don’t know the future of some of these players but it’s likely the team will change dramatically, including the rumored departure of our striker. It’s poetic that he gets the go ahead goal to wrap up the trophy and secure our 3rd piece of hardware in an all time moment for the club. To see everyone run over to the corner flag and pantomime Mateta’s iconic kick. Just absolutely beautifully poetic and emblematic of this period. Storybook stuff.

Few shots from Coney Island ride yesterday

3 laps in Prospect Park followed by a ride down to the Verrazzano where I followed the Belt to Coney Island. Took the same path back and saw a nice sunset. 42 miles.

Saw Phil at the Kroger. Was pretty surreal to see him in person. He was wearing a plaid shirt with a little Reds pin and of course, his signature sunglasses.

We were both in the produce section. I was getting some onions and Phil was by the broccoli when he reached for a head on the top but as he grabbed it, another broccoli shifted and then rolled down onto the floor. He kind of hesitated and looked around. I thought he was going to pick it up but he ended up kicking it under the refrigerator. I couldn’t believe it. It was literally just me and him so he probably didn’t think anyone would see. Some poor worker is going to smell rotting broccoli under there in a few days time. Pretty shameful.

Wanted to hear this subs’ thoughts about leg workouts at the gym in between rides. Do you do any additional leg workouts outside of cycling? If so, what do you do?

I used to pepper barbell squats and leg presses within my fitness routine but I’ve completely stopped due to leg fatigue on the bike. Has anyone else reached this conclusion or is there a happy medium? Also I know all of this is nuanced and everyone will have a varied perspective - I’m just curious. Thanks!
