Moving into new home

Hiya

My student tenancy starts tomorrow and I need to sort out the bills. I have signed up with octopus as I know they are the precious supplies now but it only lets me put the start date as 03/07/2026

Does this mean the house will have no supply for 2 days? 😭 I have emailed to ask this but I don’t know what to do

Edit: I’m just really confused and not sure how to do this- it’s my first time moving!

OSCEs always make me feel rubbish

Every time post OSCE, I focus on everything that went wrong. I remember every wrong answer, every time I forget a step or got the diagnosis wrong.

The pressure in the exam always gets to me and I am fully aware in practice there will also be an incredible amount of pressure, but there is something awful about hearing that bell and being asked to enter station and knowing the next few minutes could decide if I pass or fail.

I feel like I’ve genuinely failed and it really is an awful feeling

OSCE tomorrow

Have my OSCE tomorrow for third year and I feel like I’ve just forgotten everything. I’ve tried so hard this year and I don’t know if it’s pre exam anxiety but everything is just gone from my brain

I’m so anxious and worried and I think it’s because I’ve tried so extremely hard and worry it won’t pay off

How do I manage in a station if I genuinely can’t remember anything? What can I do to even damage control?

How to calm down before an OSCE?

I have my third year OSCEs in just over a week and I am so unbelievably stressed. I just keep getting palpitations, awful anxiety and my stomach drops every time I think of them!

I get awful exam anxiety and I am definitely trying to work on it, but this has just taken me by complete surprise at how bad it is this year

Student housing

Very random and potentially silly question (I’ve been in university accom for the past year and all this was sorted for me 😭)

When moving into student housing, do I set up the bills beforehand in advance? My tenancy starts on the 1st July but I don’t know if I have to set up all the bill like gas and electric before this day or on the day/shortly after I move in. We wouldn’t be physically living in the house until 4 weeks later.

Any med schools still have exams?

Not resit exams but first sittings- I’m seeing lots of people already done (with results!) and my third year exams are still 2 weeks away! Just curious on which med schools do exams later in the year

Advice for Year 3 OSCE

(I’m very scared - anyone have any tips at all?) I know it’s hard without knowing which med school this is for but even generic tips would really help 😭

What things has your med school implemented for wellbeing that you feel is actually a great idea?

My med school just has a couple of compulsory lectures in first year on wellbeing but that’s it.

Anyone got anything their med school does that they feel is actually a good idea or helpful?

Wisteria in a pot

I recently got gifted a wisteria Chinese prolific- it came in a 1.7L pot but was growing a lot faster than I expected

I plan to move house in a few years depending on wherever I get send for foundation training after finishing med school and would be GUTTED to pop this in the ground and then move house 💔

I just got a 53cm (68L ) terracotta pot with a wooden trellis to support growth but wanted to know if anyone had any ideas how long I could potentially keep it in this pot for before it outgrows it

I know they’re better in the ground but I would feel so sad parting with it when I do move 💔

Fig tree fruit does not ripen

I’ve had a tiger fig tee for at least 8-9 years now and it just will not ripen

It has grown fruits for the last two years - lots of fruits actually - but they won’t ripen and remain hard and small with no colour on the inside

I have no issues with my other fig tree which is a different variety

Aggressive patients?

How should we deal with aggressive patients on placements? It’s happened a couple of times and I feel like there must be a good way to de escalate the situation as I don’t think most (although this is the case for some) mean to be hostile and instead they’re frustrated, upset or just having the worst day of their lives and take it out on the students - I know this doesn’t make it acceptable or right though

Tracked 48 no updates?

Sent a parcel via Tracked 48 on vinted as it was the only option the buyer had

I dropped it off on the 11th May and it’s not moved from the parcel shop since? i went to the parcel shop who said they remember it left the shop but there’s absolutely no updates now only that it’s been received at a parcel shop

Makeup transition song?

So I have minimal details about this song

It was kinda popular maybe around lockdown era? My sister remembers it around make up specifically Halloween transitions but it ends with an angelic almost ‘aaaah’ sound at the end. At the end of the videos they put their hands together ‘praying’

She thinks maybe it referenced a nun but she’s not sure 😭

Issue with return

Hey everyone would love some advice

I received an item and the item was not as described due to damage. Seller was super apologetic and asked if I wanted to do a return and they’d pay and I said this was fine.

Sent the parcel using the QR code provided and got an email saying it was delivered

Seller is saying the parcel was never received (but the email I got said it was?)

Vinted suspended it and said it would take 7 days to find out from Royal Mail - but I’m so frustrated and wanted to know if anyone experienced this before and what the outcome was.
