EU261 + Expense compensation: 6 weeks, still not processed

Hi,

I had a AF flight that was cancelled. I have filed EU261 + expense compensation claim on their website and provided the necessary documents 6 weeks ago. I still have not received a response despite many follow-ups.

Any advice? Thanks.

Cheap end-of-tenancy cleaning services?

Hi, I will be moving out of my 1bdr flat and the landlord has requested I do end-of-tenancy cleaning.

I know that legally, a professional cleaner is not required, but I'd like to get one anyway to save some headache.

Any good recommendations for cheap but good cleaning services? thanks.

Another EE Mast Update for Oxford City Centre

More positive updates for EE / 3 UK's new mast in city centre.

Per here.

Update: 16 July 2026

Over the past month, our engineers have started building the equipment needed for the new mast. Barring any unexpected delays, we expect the build to be completed by the end of July. Once the equipment has been built, we will arrange a date for the power company to access the area for the power supply and start integrating the mast onto the network. Once all work has been completed, we can confirm an approximate on-air date for the new mast.

We will keep you updated on this post .

EE Mast update for Oxford City Centre

There may finally be light at the end of the tunnel for EE's new mobile mast in city centre. Still don't understand how it takes years to build a mobile mast but at least some positive momentum.

Per here.

Update: 11 June 2026

Over the past few months, for the first location, our engineers have been working with the site provider to access the area to start building the equipment. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we expect the build to start by the end of June. Once the build is completed, we can confirm an approximate on-air date for the new mast.

We will keep you updated on this post.

VAT Refund for iPhone purchase?

Hi,

I want to buy an iPhone 17 and get VAT refund.

I want to get full amount of VAT back (i.e. 20%), if possible, without losing any refund to intermediary fees (Global Blue, etc).

  1. If I buy from a retailer, Is it possible to claim full amount of VAT back?
  2. In Spain, for a different purchase, I was able to use Global Blue and claim the full amount back; the default Global Blue forms will take intermediary fee, but there is another Global Blue form you can request where you can get full amount back. Does France have similar scheme?
  3. Any specific retailers that I should buy it at, that is easier to get full amount back?

Many thanks.

Thinking of getting YouFibre, in OX3 Headington area. Any opinions on their service and reliability?

From reading online, it seems that their service is fine when it works, which is most of the time, but when it's down, you're SOL in terms of customer support.
