Ever since becoming a mom I want to take care of everyone

The protective instinct I developed is overwhelming, I just want to take care and baby everyone. To think that everyone once was a little baby just like mine and now goes through any type of suffering is overwhelming me with sadness and pain. I might be losing it.

Is exfoliating in the morning really a no go?

I read everywhere that you shouldn't exfoliate in the morning, because it makes your skin more sensitive to the sun. Is that really true? Even if I wear SPF and stay out of the sun? And if one exfoliates at night, the skin will still be exposed to sun the next morning (8 hours later) unless exfoliating makes your skin photosensitive for less than 8 hours only, which seems weird

A detailed book about the female cycle/female biology

It's for my 18 year old sister. Please no "divine feminine" woo woo. Many books about this topic seem aimed at very young teens and are too simple, I'm looking for a book that provides detailed descriptions of the different stages of the cycle, how ovulation works, how female hormones work, without being too "biology textbook-ish".

Retinol (Retinal) Body Lotion with the highest %

What's the body lotion with the highest percentage of retinol or retinal on the market? Price doesn't matter, but I prefer more affordable, willing to splurge if very high %. Thank you!

I wish reddit had a "liked by creator" feature

Or a "Upvoted by OP feature". Thanking everyone who interacts with my post seems redundant, but when I remember those are real people, taking time out of their day to respond (sometimes elaborately) to my questions/posts/comments, I feel bad about there being no sign of appreciation from my part. Sure, I can upvote, but that could have been anyone's upvote. And if someone downvotes the comment, it appears as if I never upvoted it. Am I doomed to thank youing everyone or seeming ungrateful? There must be a third, better option.

Reapplying Sunscreen

Do you actually reapply sunscreen? If yes how often and at what time? How much do you spend on sunscreen each month and which one do you like to use?

Personally I reapply once per day, around noon. And just in summer. I use LRP UVMUNE 400 Invisible Fluid. It stings a little but I read it's the best protection on the market.

Nuking my skin barrier gave me glass skin

I'm just sharing in case this works for someone else, or perhaps someone knows why this happens.

My skin is dryish and sensitive, prone to congestion and slight type 2 rosacea.

I've been trying to make tretinoin/tazarotene for years and always ended up with horrible peeling, dryness and sensitivity. Naturally I thought babying my skin was the solution, I tried everything: buffering, not buffering, using tazarotene with nothing else, not even moisturizer, I tried cicaplaste, cicalfate, all sorts of hydrating and soothing toners, nothing worked.

I always stayed away from adding lots of other actives, thinking it would make my skin react worse, and when I did use them, I went for the least effective and most gentle option. I also used tret/taz every other day only.

What actually worked? Bombarding my skin with tons of actives, and using potent strengths and not using any "barrier repair" hydrating etc products. My skin feels and looks amazing, no flaking, no peeling. I can use taz and tret 0.1% when before 0.025 was killing me.

My routine now:

Morning:

  • Vitamin C Serum 15% Transparent Lab
  • Peptide Serum Theramid
  • Invisible Fluid SPF50 LRP

Evening

  • Oil Cleanser (any cheap one I can find)
  • Rose Gel Cleanser Transparent Lab (non tret nights)
  • BHA cleanser Cerave (on tret nights)
  • azelaic acid gel 15%
  • Tazarotene 0.1% 5x per week
  • BHA 2% Toner PC 1x per week (non tret days)
  • Peel Pads Dr Denis Gross 1x per week (non tret day)

This has been working for months, so fingers crossed.

Do you have your own bank account?

Do you have your own bank account? If yes, do you have any savings? Or do you have a split bank account? Or does your husband have one and just pays for everything? I'm just curious, I have nothing against tradwifery, just interested on how it's handled.

Does working in IVF have any issues in halacha?

I'm a biologist and currently on maternity leave. After my maternity leave ends I'm strongly considering a career in embryology (basically a lab worker in fertility clinics). I'm secular at the moment but feel a calling towards being more observant and I don't know how observant I will be in the future. I wouldn't want to have to change careers if it will eventually clash with my religion, so I'm wondering if anyone has any input.

What does a perfume wardrobe need?

Which categories does a complete perfume wardrobe need?

For me:

  • A skin scent (Another 13, Glossier You)
  • Everyday signature scent (Prada Paradoxe Virtual Flower)
  • Very fresh summery scent for hot days (Guerlain Rosa Rossa Forte)
  • Fancy, sexy date night scent (Dior Hypnotic Poison)

Which categories do you think are needed and which are your perfumes of choice in each?

(I obviously understand nobody needs fragrances, let alone multiple. Just thought this would be fun.

If you're not neurotypical don't bother dating neurotypicals

Half of the posts of men struggling to date in here can be solved with this. If you have autism or something similar, even just suspected, date another autist. Don't even bother with neurotypicals, the majority of them will see you as subhuman for failing to follow their unspoken social rules. Most incels problem is exactly this, in fact three of the biggest incels I ever met where all above 6'3 and average/above average, they just were very autistic. Accept your autism and marry an autist. I'm a woman and married an autist and I adore him more than life and I think he feels the same about me.

Is depotting tubes of sunscreen going to destabilize it?

I have two small bottles of sunscreen that are horribly leaky and I want to depot them into a big 200ml empty bottle I have (opaque with a pump). Will that in any way mess with the formula or make it less effective?

Thanks

How can I believe in Gd?

I just lost my faith, I struggle with believing. I wish I could though, I used to believe in Gd and I was a much happier less anxious person. Can someone please give me advice? Why do you personally believe in Gd, what makes you think he is real? Maybe someone can recommend book, videos etc. Thank you

Does anyone else know girls with lucky girl syndrome?

So I'll focus on my cousin since she's the lucky girl syndrome girlie I grew up around but I've met a handful.

She has never had a bad day, is smiling on probably 95% of pictures that exist of her, everyone ADORES her, and I mean that. Everything she does or gets involved with effortlessly works out for her. Over the years she had multiple boyfriends who were all obsessed with her, doing chores for her etc, and those were quite popular guys. In her early twenties she was unemployed and volunteering for like 5 years, but nobody in my family batted an eyelash, and she constantly ran into money or side hustle opportunities. Random people from my town we hardly know comment on her photos and sing her praises. What kind of sorcery is this? Is this just what life without depression looks like? Is she the chosen one? Is she subconsciously manifesting?

Another girl I know, has basically the same story, but on top of that she also managed to become a locally semi famous model, despite being short and not skinny.

And I don't know how to phrase this in a way that doesn't make me sound like an asshole, but none of them are above average in any aspect, other than purity of heart. They are not very financially privileged or the most conventionally attractive women ever, nor are they harder working. I'm just adding this so nobody claims it's just pretty privilege or nepotism. On the other hand I know plenty of girls who have "better" circumstances, yet get played by every man they meet, have a hard time finding a job they can stand despite being highly educated or broke despite working a lot.

I'm not evil eying or being jealous, they are angels and deserve it, just trying to understand.

Question for those who love their mom

Or had a beautiful childhood. How were you raised? What were some things your mom (or parents) did that made you feel loved and happy? What are some of their practices you would adopt?
