I was caught up last week and missed the initial drop. Saturday I randomly checked KND, saw it was still in stock, and placed my order immediately.

Are the good days finally back? It’s great to see stock lasting this long over there! 🧿

Found these two absolute gems at my local toy store. One is a duck, and the other is literally a car engine on wheels. Couldn’t leave these little design marvels!

I mean, I know the movement is Japanese, the engineering is Japanese, and Seiko’s quality control is probably the same no matter where it’s put together.

Logically, it shouldn’t really matter.

But there’s just something about seeing “Made in Japan” on the dial or caseback. Same goes for “Swiss Made” on Swiss watches. It just hits different. Maybe it’s the heritage, maybe it’s the story behind it, or maybe it’s just really good marketing doing its thing.

At the end of the day, this is just how things are made now. Parts come from all over, assembly happens wherever it makes sense, and brands are trying to balance cost and scale. The watch itself didn’t suddenly change just because I noticed the engraving today.

Still, I won’t lie a small part of me wishes it said “Made in Japan.” but I still love this watch 😬
