Mehrunes Dagon demands better posture

Back to school. Followed the instructions perfectly. Still wrong.

Do you use fast travel?

Genuine question: do most of you fast travel, or deliberately walk/ride everywhere for the immersion?

I keep telling myself I should travel properly, then I remember Cyrodiil has thoughtfully placed an Oblivion Gate every 600 feet to make sure the commute stays interesting.

I thought I just let the main quest die

Holy fuck, I thought essential NPCs could die. Martin hit the floor and I was already mentally preparing to explain to the Blades how I personally ended the Empire.

Early Comparison to Skyrim

Skyrim Follower Limit: 1

Aurora Borealis: somehow also present.

Starting to suspect these games may take place under the same sky.

The Loot in Oblivion Kvatch Is Incredible

Opened a burning corpse nailed to the wall. Two gold. Guard thinks this keeps getting better and better. I'm starting to understand the local economy.

Let's stick together! Ilend, Charging Ahead Without Me

The Defense of Kvatch is going well. The Kvatch guard appears to have a very aggressive interpretation of teamwork. He died first. I died slightly later.

My First NPC Interaction After the Sewers Went Great for About 0.7 Seconds

Finally out of the sewers. My first NPC! She turns around. Immediately tries to kill me. Welcome to Cyrodiil.

Computer Science says HAMMERFELL is still on the table

If you majored in CS, you know * doesn’t have to be one letter. It could be a recursive grammar.

* → [A-Z] | **

So ******** could be 8 letters… or 80.

HAMMERFELL perseveres!

Last time I played Oblivion in 2006 and I had to buy a new GPU for around 300 EUR

It still only ran somewhat mediocre but it was so fantastic to wander through Cyrodiil. I could have just walked and picked herbs and I would have been content.

People that are bitching about performance don't know how good they have it. Go play the old Oblivion then with hopefully 90 fps.

The Blades have made a powerful enemy today

Captain Renault dies in the tutorial. Naturally, I take her sword. I drop any other sword prior because of overencumbrance. Then one of the Blades takes it away from me. I am a prisoner in a sewer. I have nothing. I finally inherit one nice thing and immediately the government confiscates it. This will have consequences.
