hey guys. Im writing this as im coming from northern syd/the north shore line, and have never really been to the western suburbs WSU prides themselves on. My perception of western Sydney is heavily based off personal anecdotes, as well as the events I see reported on the news so please excuse my views— I am happy to learn the truth or to be corrected. I am considering studying a specific course that is only offered at WSU Campbelltown, which means i will most likely have to move on campus if I were to get in.

I just wanted to know if you guys perceive Campbelltown to be a safe place? Or at least, tje accomodation on the WSU campus. It’s really bad for me to generalise (and I dont mean to)… but my perception of Campbelltown is that jt is a bit of a dodgy place, and my relatives nearby around Leppington alr say pickpockets and crime happen in the general area esp when the sun goes down. Ive also heard rates of DV and SA are also quite high in the area, which quite worries me as a young female.

If you’ve ever lived on the Campbelltown campus or around the area, I’d love to hear your inputs.

how do you style them? might plan on getting a bixie, but i have no idea how to style hair.

Any product recs (im in aus, so might need to check if they're available locally for me)? Any style or picture references, and how does your bixie do outside in the wind. is it high maintenance at all :(

hey! Ive always been a long time lurker on this sub as i geniunely feel Im the only person in my school and literally in my family with the finest and thinnest hair. My hair has been something ive been insecure of my whole life and upon discovering this sub, ive come to learn that im not the only one… in which Im so grateful for ☹️☹️.

My hair bunched up into a ponytail is TINY, and what Im working with would probably only be enough to make a large paintbrush or so, Im not kidding. Ive grown my hair to be about chest length, and at times, i love that length! But as someone with considerably thin AND fine hair, going outside with my hair out means with any gust of wind, all of my hair flies up and i feel like a paper being blown off from the ground… and by the time i grt somewhere without any wind, i end up looking like ive been electrocuted and so frazzled. This also means i cant even do much with my chest length hair cos even having my hair out annoys me… it gets into my face, my hair doesnt stream beatifully down as locks but instead looks liek a mop, and cos my hair texture is so straight, it tangles so easily.

Ive just kind of started to get pissed off at my hair sometimes, and I geniunely can’t wear any styles outside a ponytail, or a considerably thin plait. Do any of you guys have any relatively short styles that dont get all in your face etc, and are relatively easy to style? Or for medium length length styles as well. Im ngl, I def cant see myself ‘pulling off’ some styles cos I dont rlyl have the face for them haha 💀 but id rlly love if anyone could give me any hairstyle ideas.

Im only against bobs as I personally just think they’re kind of a hassle to maintain.

just curious- I really liek my iPhone 11 and have been using it since 2021. There hasn’t been any issues with my phone, just my battery health has degraded to a 78% battery health and I notice that I regularly have to being a charger etc with me. I suppose other than that, all my other Apple products use usbc, so bringing an extra cable is a bit inconvenient but I was wondering if this means I should just change my battery?

when did you guys switch phones/change your battery? how long you guys reckon I can keep my battery going for until it’s unusable anymore? I don’t really believe in upgrading to the latest phones etc as my phone is just a device i use to take calls and waste time on, I also appreciate that were getting iOS 27 but even iOS 26 has been quite laggy on my phone.

im considering undertaking a 100% online course at AU, and I was wondering if anyone has any experiences to share? im unable to attend uni in person as I live too far from the campus and I was curious what is it like studying online. what do the different kinds of assessments look like- for eg. What is an oral defence, what do online exams look like, and would you say online learning is effective? Are lessons prerecorded or live-streamed? Is there a strict timetable at all, or is it a learn at your own place thing? what would a week look like undertaking online study. are the courses split up into 6 or 10 weeks?

im so scared for the actual exam which i have in just a bit more than a day, I’ve only peaked at around 2200 on medify before my subscription expired (💀) and I recently started doing the actual practice material and idek why but my scores are dropping… idk what’s wrong with me but i get so anxious and sometimes some of the official qb questions are just unfamiliar based off the ones I’ve done off medify.

does anyone have any tips? i did mock b and deadass scored 1940 (according to medentry)… maybe I wasn’t in the zone but im just so scared cos ik ill need 2500+ for a realistic shot at med 🫩

I’ve been thinking of bringing my own earplugs to my exam since generic ones low-key dont do shit and I can’t concentrate without them. The thing is, on the ucat website it says uou have to bring ones that are in unopened packaging? and the earplugs i LOVEE come in a pack of 8 and I already have them at home… could I just bring a tiny case with 2 of these earplugs to the centre or would I have to purchase another 8 brand new earplugs to bring in centre? if I get 8 new earplugs (they come all smooshed in a case) will they make me throw the 6 others away or smth 😭

to those who got into med/dent as a non standard applicant/got a gpa and sat the ucat, what uni course did you take? What were your stats and gpa etc., and was it hard getting your gpa? am definitely considering undergoing a year of uni if this year does not go out and wanted to see what people here have done before.

hey ya'll, I'm an aus student who currently uses medify and my ucat exams in around a bit less than a month. Thing is tho, my medify expires pretty soon and before my ucat, so I was wondering if it would be possible to purchase medentry's monthly prep plan (off their uk website) from australia? i'm a bit worried cos on their website it states they strictly monitor the ip addresses of whoever accesses their practice materials and if they deem you not to be based in the UK, that they apparently will ban you without recourse... anyone have any insights on this? I also have a vpn in which virtual ip address enables me to seem liek I am in birmingham but i'm quite worried medentry will see that im paying using an australian bank institution and will ban me cos of this.
