Enphase's Enlighten app's AI assistant

Enphase decided to add an AI assistant to their app because... who knows. So I've been playing with it a bit.

"What's my production forecast?"

I assume it checks local cloud cover prediction and bases it with my own historical production because it's been pretty close to actual production for the last week. It either under-estimates by 2-8% or it overestimates by about 20%. One week isn't enough data to evaluate, but I'll keep checking it.

"Produce a table of my energy consumption for 2024 in 15-minute increments"

"I checked your system, and I found that your site doesn't have a consumption meter installed or enabled..."

"My site DOES have consumption monitoring" (eye roll)

"You're right, I apologize for the confusion! Your site does have consumption monitoring..." And it gave me hourly consumption from all of 2024, stating that 15-minute increment data is no longer stored.

I also asked for all of 2023's and all the 2022 consumption data. This was useful because that data is too old for me to request it via reports through the app normally, and I didn't want to pay $250 for a lifetime license to access all the data that they and the installers can access.

" How dirty do you estimate my panels are, and how much production is being lost per day because of that?"

"I can't provide an exact estimate of panel soiling or production loss without comparing current output to the same period last year." and then suggestions of how to figure it out myself, such as "look at it from the ground with binoculars" It offered to compare last August to this year's.

I wonder why they didn't use the DX/color version of Link's Awakening on the 2021 model?

Who still carries Laptop shipping boxes?

We last ordered some back in 2018 stopped carrying them around late-2023. They're expensive (cost and retail), a pain to store, and their reusability is great but few customers will ever need to reuse them, so it's cheaper for them, and a better margin for us, to simply pack laptops by hand.

Last month I scored a bunch of various boxes (~600) that someone was giving away because they were shutting down their business. Mostly 14x10x6 - 12x12x12 sizes and lots of thinner 2"-high and 4"-high die-cut and 32ECT ones, but also five laptop shippers in two sizes.

Since July 1 two different customers called or came in asking specifically for laptop shipping boxes. The one that called had also called four other places (TUPSS, Annex) and none of them carried them either. Do any of you still carry these or am I now the weird one?

Super Mario Bros. (2020) as a clock, long-term?

It's been almost 6 years since this came out, but has anyone used this as a desk/wall clock for a long time? Any screen or backlight damage?

Anyone else on SDG&E stop getting weekly usage report emails?

My home (with solar) hasn't gotten one since June 11th and my mother-in-law's house (no solar, I pay the bill) hasn't gotten one since June 19th

S9 vs bottle cap

Impressive torque on the rollers. I don’t think many of the older models would have kept turning. Sadly these were just a month old.

If you carry a poster tube, use it for more

Here's a small tip that’s rarely utilized at SDCC. If you choose to carry a poster tube, you have some valuable real estate that you could use for a quick reference map of the floors, your schedule of panels/signings/off-sites, shopping lists, “if found, call…”, and public transit schedules.

You don't need your phone out as much.

I built a Sharpie caddy for autographs (Black, Silver, Gold, Red, etc) and cored out the cap and added a USB power bank. And it still holds posters and small items like pins.

I've used the same tube for the last 10 years, and laminate all my stuff into one 11x17 sleeve that lasts the Con and then cut it off for the next year.

Attention CALIFORNIA locations: You can raise your notary price on Jan 1, 2027

The Governor signed AB-1597 yesterday, so the state limit per notary act will go up from $15 to $20.

New York, New Jersey, & Georgia: Sorry, I can't help you.

Yellow Brick Road arcade at UTC in San Diego (early 80s to mid-90s)

I apologize if this is the wrong sub to ask, but does anyone have any pictures of this arcade, specifically of the entrance or a view of it from the food court or ice rink?

I’ve only ever been able to find a video of the inside and a few very-obscured external photos that don’t show the name or even a clear view that it’s an arcade.

Fisker Karma

License plate obscured for owner’s privacy. Only about 2500 were built. This is the third one I’ve seen in my area over the years.

Three cheers for the button battery

My GB camera hasn’t been turned on since some time before 2005 (probably 1999) but the little battery inside still has all the pictures taken since 1998.

It had pictures of my dog, a friend that died, my parents, and my girlfriend (now my wife). I was able to save the pictures.

[LA] I got my GB printer out and wanted to test that it was still working

u/ash_274 — 3 months ago

I was going through my parents house to look for some “lost” Game Boy things and found that I still had my VB issue of Nintendo Power WITH the special glasses that came with it in the envelope and a still-sealed official third-party AC adapter for VB.

I also found the Game Boy things and some Game & Watch games.
