Historic flat roof to pitch house type

Help an east coaster out.

I've previously (self) learned about a Glasgow house type that "famously" had a flat roof to pitch roof conversion.

I want to say the houses are the ones in Downfield Street, Tollcross, and these houses feature elsewhere in Glasgow. Sometimes the pitch above the door was left as a flat roof or was mono pitched.

I've only been able to remember the area as I remember commenting while driving past and going "oh it's those houses" and spending a while checking known darras I would have driven around.

Can anyone confirm or deny? Or even provide an informative link?

Meeting the foster parent, what to ask

UK if it makes a difference.

What should we be asking the foster parent of a child we have matched with?

Honestly at this stage I can't think of anything pressing or deal breaking after meeting with the child's social worker and foster parents social worker.

Also, does anyone else dislike the question "what can you offer a child"?

I feel like we don't have a USP and only respond with the bit of the expectant response of "love, stability, support and opportunity. And a family who's already excited"

Specifying for ground waste

Just looking for advice.

When specifying a WC for a ground waste pipe where the waste can't be moved, eg concrete floor.

Is the general rule to have one where the outlet is a further distance from the wall then the centre of the waste? eg if the centre of the waste is 180mm from the wall then a WC with 200mm outlet away from the wall.

Insulated suspended floor, do the rad pipes too?

Planning to insulate the suspended timber floor from before.

While under there thinking it may be best to lag the radiator pipes which is mostly PVC/quick fit.

Would others agree?

Does standard lagging fit PVC?

Pivot table and chart, increase titles and add unused option

Two questions on pivot tables.

How can I add unused data options?

How can I increase the text box of the titles?

Dissertation - can't get my head in it

I just need to vent.

I can't get my head in the zone to write my dissertation. Mature student, full time job.

All other uni work I've been able to do, make time, delve in and out but there's a mental block for my dissertation due mid august. Honestly it's like another hint at having ADHD tendencies.

I've already differed it by a term due to personal circumstances, and one bereavement is still impacting me daily.

Although I doubt it's a close enough relation for the uni to care. Not that I've done anything this trimester in regards to letting the uni know, or even the GP to receive any support.

I was on course to receive a first and now I'm panicking I won't even get a 2:1.

Anyone imported a rarer breed

We are after a rare breed in the UK. Noted interest with a couple of breeders who may have a litter later this year, but typically litters are few and far between with waiting lists.

I've read up on the requirements on the Gov website and I think we would be going down the ferry route. What's the actual practicalities like?

Any checks on the ferry or dockside in the UK?

How did you go about getting to know breeders, puppies etc?

Double single back box

I have two 1gang back boxes side by side, with two lots of light 2gang switches (4switches in total). It doesn't look the best and where it is, is due decoration in the coming months.

Making sure I've not missed a product there's isnt a single plate that would cover two 1gang boxes? And hence best to swap it to a 2gang back box.

Table of contents, how to ignore a page?

Uni report and we now have to insert a cover sheet for AI declaration.

The only issue is my contents table picks this up and inserts it.

Highlighting the cover sheet shows the style as "Normal." Clicking on normal, which removes it from table of contents also changes the layout of coversheet (to me is suggestive there may Heading styles used).

Is there a way to make the table of contents ignore this one page?

Definition help - "shall discharge its duties"

I hope this doesn't fall under the "help with homework" rule, is it different that I am not studying law?

Reading into Local Government in Scotland Act 2003, Part 1 1(5).

"The local authority shall discharge its duties under this section in a way which contributes to the achievement of sustainable development."

What meaning is meant here of "discharge its duties"?

My first thought was that the previously mentioned clauses are no longer obligated to be met if it was for sustainable development. But I thought I would double check and googling brings up articles define it in two ways, although mostly in the context of contracts.

Either successful fulfilment of duties, or no longer liable to be met.

One feels like it's a "do what you want for sustainable development" while the other feels like it doubles down as "sustainable development still has to meet the other criteria."

In this instance what one is it meant to be?

Mitsis royal mare, any alternatives?

Looking for all inclusive and like many these days need to be good for gluten free.

Ideally it would be adult only but mitsis scores high on being well catered for Gluten-free and the several ala carte restaurants offers a change to the buffet.

We've done all inclusive before but only had the option of one trip to the restaurant and got bored with the limited buffet offerings, hence being attracted to go to Mitsis.

Looking for similar budget £1000pp first week of June (last minute)

Close to pulling the trigger but thought I'd ask first. Not fussed on the area of Crete.

Safe to trim pipe?

Been left with the photo, over site on us.

It's from memory the vent for an u-bend / p trap off a junction where various join. (happy to be educated on terminology)

Am I ok to trim to correct height for relaying of slab? If so do I need anything for it? eg a rubber seal or something

M38 and been questioning if I am neuralgia for a while now, the symptoms align but as it's not that often and easily treatable with ibuprofen Ive been ignoring it.

I've "always" suffered with tinnitus. But the past couple of weeks my left ear I've developed the in beat with my heart swooshing noise, but it also beats with a change of pressure and recently developed into discomfort.

Some light googling seems to suggest both can be caused by blood vessels issues around the head.

Has anyone also suffered from both?

Admittedly now a bit concerned that both can be caused by blood vessels issues I should take it more seriously.
