Hey so basically gotta come out before school starts in…..two weeks. Wrote my parents a letter, got it all sorted out. I put my chosen name on there, its what I plan to go by, but I’m sooo scared it won’t suit me and that I’ll be like, obviously appropriating guy culture 😂 idfk it’s stupid cause I AM a guy, so I can’t appropriate. But like. Idk. It’s scary. What if everyone thinks it doesn’t suit me. How do I know if it’s actually The One?

I know I can change it again if it really sucks but I gotta commit to smth for this school year 😬

BTW the name I’ve been thinking about for 3+ months is Rick, I don’t really care to post a picture of myself for all the world to see but all my friends tell me I look like Luke Skywalker (in a New Hope, not old man Luke lol) which I think is pretty generous (I’m more like thin-ass obviously pre-t Luke with smaller eyes) but incase that helps that helps

It feels strange to say out loud, but I guess nobody really says their own name much anyway.

I even practiced my new signature for it tho I think maybe I gotta just stop worrying about it :/

I am getting SO frustrated with how I cycle through hyperfixations/special interests/whatever you want to call it…I see other autistic people with their interests lasting years, big collections of special interest stuff, knowing every fact, and I want that SO BAD. But I think my ADHD is what prevents that…my interests last usually only several months, and they are very intense (consuming all free time, being 99% of my thoughts) but never last long enough for me to stop feeling like a ”poser” in that community or to “get good” (when it’s skill-based). Any time I buy something related to it, I feel guilty it’s not a worthwhile purchase cause I think I will fall out of love with the interest soon. And I still like the past interests! I want them to be part of who I am! But the excitement goes so quick?? Anyone else have this problem? How do you guys deal with ittt ☹️

I most likely some sort of neurodivergent condition, and it’s hard for me to understand what is or isn’t appropriate, which is why I’m here to ask:

Would hanging up my trans flag in my room be a good idea for coming out?

I struggle with words, so I’d hope for this to be a fun way to bring it up, but I don’t know how it would be received. I don’t necessarily expect them to recognize it, but they would certainly ask about it.

Context (if needed):

- My parents use preferred name and pronouns of queer friends (if only to avoid confrontation and resentment for failing to do so, although I hope it’s from a sincere place)

- Since last month I’ve been pointing out various pride flags in public, their responses are generally neutral or positive

- Hopefully not a shock for them as I present in many ways as my true gender already lol
