Does anyone feel like they sound bored?

I don't intend to add to the pile of we miss the old Las Cultch but I have started to listen to the show less and less because they, particuarly Bowen, just sound bored now. When they first started having regularly celebs on, there was an engagement and interest in the discussion that made them worth listening to even if it lacked the chaos of the old episodes (eg, I actually liked the Reese Witherspoon episode!)

But now, with Slayyyter and Kesha (and maybe Gracie? I haven't listened yet...), the questions are lacking and the convos don't reveal much of the guests (vs. say a NYT Popcast episode). Contrast this with a Cat Cohen or D'arcey episode, the difference is even more stark. It's starting to feel perfunctory and like a contractual obligation (and maybe even a side gig as Bowen said in the Mindy Kaling episode).

Anyone feel the same way? I don't want to focus this on them evolving the show itself (they want to interview celebs I guess...) but focus on their engagment with the show.

Activities for millennial to meet pop culture minded people

I’ve been in NYC for 2 years as mid 30 year old and haven’t made many close friends. I’ve done sports leagues, volunteering, and other classes—I’ve enjoyed them but they never translated into friendships outside of the confines of the activity. Starting to lose a bit of hope.

I’m trying to focus more on my natural inclinations to see if that would help: are there any pop culture / culture focused clubs/activities? Would be cool if gay focused but not required. Any advice appreciated!

Post MBA trajectory for the unambitious

2020 M7 grad in tech strategy with regular promos to a people manager title before director. I’m getting burn out and no desire to get to director let alone VP

Realistically, what are my options to keep making solid pay (I’m fine in my solid mid 6 digit range) for the rest of my career?

The IC path seems rare as you get more senior for biz roles unlike in Eng or even product. And I haven’t ever seen anyone stay in a Sr Manager role in perpetuity as much as I would want to

Has anyone been in similar shoes and navigated this?

Do the line lengths differ between Radio Bakery locations?

Hoping to swing by Radio Bakery this Friday for their lunch focaccia and lunch sandwiches so around 10:45ish

Are the lines long at both of their locations? Also, do you think the lines will be more like the weekend given it’sIndependence Day observed?

And yes yes I know waiting in line is stupid, radio bakery is overrated etc etc. I’m going to this place to pick things up for a relative who’s been wanting to try it for awhile and want to get something you can’t get in other cities (ie not Eataly)

What burgers should I eat during a week off from work

I have an upcoming week off from work and will be the city for most of it. I’m craving burgers so planning to eat a burger a day (let’s see how far I make it).

What are the burger places I should go to that take advantage of not working on a random weekday?

So far I’m thinking:
-Red Hook Tavern
-Lord’s
-Raoul’s

Am I missing anything big? Is there also anything else to do around Red Hook besides the burger to make the trip worth it?

How early to grab bar seats for Saturdays Knicks game?

It’ll vary by neighborhood, bar, and “scene” but how early should I expect to go to grab a seat at any place that’s first come first serve?

I’m looking at UWS / Hells Kitchen for reference

Any Knicks game projections on the UWS?

Not to ask yet another Knicks question but have there been any parts on the UWS that have projected the games?

I’ve seen this in other neighborhoods and would love a chill spot to post up.

Amenities vs neighborhood vibes

I’m on the UWS and love it—the train access on the west side, quiet, beautiful and vicinity to the Park. I’m on a fifth floor walk up that’s completely doable but would love to have an elevator eventually.

Most places here or in other neighborhoods with similar residential vibes are out of budget but seem possible in Hell’s Kitchen, midtown, etc.

Has anyone made the switch optimizing for amenities (and really just an elevator) and has it been worth it?

Shakespeare in the Park

Anybody lining up for Shakespeare in the Park? How’s it looking? Curious if the long weekend and lack of big stars is making this more manageable
