Naughty little tykes getting wet on a hot day!

The little one is trying so hard to climb up, but he’s too small. Finally, after much effort, he figures out a clever workaround.

My favorite mama bear showed up with her new batch of four kits. Last year she only had one. This is the first time I’ve seen them - very exciting!

Then, to my surprise, she wandered off for a good 15 minutes leaving them to wrestle and play with each other on the deck until she returned.

They have SO MUCH ENERGY!

Found him like this last night, and he was so still that we checked if he was breathing. (He is fine.)

This little guy visited the deck with his mama as a tiny kit last summer. Gradually all the mamas and kits dispersed, except for those two. Then his mama got pregnant again and has been denning.

He is on his own now, but still comes to rest in his safe childhood spot as part of his nightly rounds.

I would love to rub that firm belly, but of course I can’t.

While cooking in the kitchen, I looked up to discover this splooting creature watching me.
